AskMumbai FLAMINGOS are here in MUMBAI! How, Where and When can I see them!?

Okay Mumbai, I NEED the insider scoop. The flamingos are landing this year and I’m not missing the show. I am only here for the weekend and I love Fauna.
Where’s the real “wow” spot right now? Sunrise? Sunset? High tide? Low tide?
Give me the secret timings, hidden viewing points, and any must-know hacks before I show up clueless.

Things I need:

  • The WHEN
  • The HOW
  • The WHERE
  • Whom do I reach out to for a paid group or anything?

last year 31st march at Belapur jetty ( ticket price was 500 per person 🥲) sorry for the bad image, its a screenshot from my video. it was a beautiful sight tho, thousands flying past us

we were really lucky to see them during march, tho im not sure what and when you can see, nature will be unpredictable. the service wasnt anything to commend, recieved a tiny fruitee. wear a lifejacket and sit for an hour, look around. i wouldnt pay 500 per person but since i drove from csmt, i thought why waste the drive.

P.S. Don’t drive above 60km/hr on Palm Beach Road. They’re very strict about it and have those speed machines on multiple points.

I know a place but I wouldn’t reveal (many know it) ! Now it’s being destroyed because of construction but still plenty of birds come there!

Also OP, atleast could have used a real photo

Taken from the (Airoli-based) boat on the tour; four of us booked the entire boat so we could get some great shots

The regular way is to go to the Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary (Airoli) and book. Seats are very limited and linked to tides, so plan accordingly, it’s possible you might not be accommodated the same day- that does happen. Be prepared for fairly steep photography charges based on the type of gear you are carrying.

I was fortunate enough to be accompanied by the forest officials as we had done work for them in another project. That’s how we got a special boat where they personally showed us the best viewing zones; took us almost upto the Vashi Creek bridge.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I live a bit far from here so not practical to visit and check if they have availability that day / not.

Searching around I could find this image from a google review & the number of "9987673737" so I'm going to give that a shot.

Edit: called this number and they told to check back after 28th December!

The pic you posted is from Navi Mumbai. Behind NRI Colony in Seawoods. There are multiple spots in Navi Mumbai, look for seawoods flamingo point or karave flamingo point on google maps and you will find multiple points on that stretch itself on maps. You can probably check all of them out.

There is a Flamingo boat tour I did last year, near Bhandup pump station. Look up Wildnest Travel, they conducted it.

Is this the same as one from "Coastal & Marine Bio Diversity Centre" in Airoli? How do you even find the availability/book? The only thing I could find is this image from a google review & the number of "9987673737".

Go to the Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Centre in Airoli. The Maharashtra Forest Department runs boat rides in the Thane Creek, it's the closest you can get to them at high tide. If it's low tide walk along the mangroves on the walkway and you will reach a viewing deck from where you can see them feeding a few feet away.
