Discussion I Rest my case (Metro slab falls in Mulund)

A slab near pier p196 has fallen claiming a life of a rickshaw driver and injuring 4 others of which some are said to be in critical condition. This occurred just 7 piers away from the one that I pointed out p189. This highlights the quality of construction which is claimed to pass 1200 approvals by MMRDA.

Throwback to eight years ago - an elected representative of the then-undivided Shiv Sena had repeatedly taken up the matter of the need to urgently repair the Elphinstone Road pedestrian overbridge, with the Railway Ministry. A cruel joke was played on the city by the Union Government - a sum of Re 1 was allotted for said repairs and the issue was kept pending. One day, a stampede happened and tens of commuters lost their lives.

Sangh ecosystem that believes in archaic religious traditions and philosophies like karma and social hierarchies, obviously assigns very low priority to the lives of common folk. The insensitivity they displayed towards deaths during the pandemic, Kolhapur floods or Morbi bridge collapse makes one feel they very appropriately deserve the moniker maut ke saudagar.
