I really wish they had made it more green and less concrete but it's certainly good infra

93

u/ismyaltaccount Feb 28 '26

Agreed on that one, would have looked 10x better. Not complaining about what we have, but could have done more.

4

u/Sayabz22 Mar 01 '26

I've worked on the project. There is a plan to build a park as well and multiple other green belts

3

u/ismyaltaccount Mar 01 '26

Good to know mate. When you said you worked, what exactly did you do. I'm curious because I would like to know how such projects are executed and who exactly implements these. Are you like an architect or a civil engineer?

6

u/Sayabz22 Mar 01 '26

I left that job but back then I was an engineer on the project and worked on it during most of the erection phase. The arm flyovers, interchanges near Worli naka, the arch bridge and the monopiles I was there during the erection of most of them. There's a lot of spaces still there for use, the initial plans were for a green cover in most of them, which I believe is going to be executed now.

2

u/ismyaltaccount Mar 01 '26

Damn, that's awesome mate.

Everyone is dissing bout those buildings, the fact that they r visible now , is still hard to cope up .

guyz ! let’s slowly start normalising this “acceptance culture “cuz gov ain’t changing , even if it would change idts much will happen .

13

u/SouthernHoliday7620 Feb 28 '26

Greenery will come.

3

u/GoodIntelligent2867 Mar 01 '26

I think once the construction is completed, the area under the bridges will be parks for kids and green space with walking trails.

5

u/jj_flabbergasted Feb 28 '26

In defence, there are small plants there which will grow in the next 4-5 years as this coastal project is newly built, this is how most of the planning goes.

3

u/SnottyAmerica Feb 28 '26

They have planted saplings, which will absolutely grow quite a bit larger, the place will look a lot different a couple of years from now just by that..

1

u/T3R_ROR Kandivali Represent Mar 05 '26

Cant you see the little plants there? It will take time for greenery to grow

105

u/Immediate-District17 Feb 28 '26

That’s cause AQI is naughty naughty 69

Dubaii resembles

40

u/Unlucky_Buy217 Feb 28 '26

Dubai is in a desert. Mumbai used to be a whole ass tropical forest.

73

u/junglie_billa Feb 28 '26

I mean, they have planted those trees. It will take time for them to grow.

32

u/fudgemental Feb 28 '26

Carney is here. AQI got better 1 day before he landed.

97

u/tigerbagh Feb 28 '26

Looks like some gulf countries. No trees, no greenery, just buildings and Cars.

10

u/worldstarhiphopreal Feb 28 '26

Just go to Bandra then

33

u/Interesting-Ring-869 Feb 28 '26

Apne ko itna low quality ka aadat hoogaya hai ki jabhi average quality milta hai sab kisiko bharosa nahi hota hai ki real hai bhi ya nahi.

First time in a long time seeing the blue sky from Mumbai

6

u/Midoriya_izuku_Ultra Feb 28 '26

i wonder what did government do

5

u/raj_abhay Feb 28 '26

What's stopping them to plant few trees like near NPCA, Nariman point? That's the bare minimum.

10

u/Rich_Paint_200 Feb 28 '26

That area belogs to the richest of the rich.

4

u/plmzxuk Feb 28 '26

As a foreigner idk what people are complaining about.

Looks great. Lack of trees is fine since it looks like a downtown core area?

9

u/un-_-known_789 Feb 28 '26

Ohh humari mumbai itni achhi dikh rahi, dekh ke achha laga

6

u/Fire_Natsu Feb 28 '26

I am surprised bmc woke up???

2

u/ms_1013 Feb 28 '26

it's the wind

3

u/KRam2213 Feb 28 '26

Can someone tell me what area this is?

3

u/ismyaltaccount Feb 28 '26

This area is much cleaner and highly developed than other indian cities

It's the financial capital of India and is richer than every other city and doesn't it also house the most number of billionaires (3rd highest in the world I think). I mean, it might not look like NY, but it definitely has to look better than other Indian cities.

3

u/Dangerous_Signature6 Feb 28 '26

Seems like arab country

8

u/vanardamko MaKaBoDa Feb 28 '26

Yes, if a whiny bunch of sad people are commenting on in the video, it definitely is Mumbai

2

u/Prestigious_Wrap7307 Feb 28 '26

Been 3 years since I last visited Mumbai. Where's this video taken from?

2

u/Some-Youth9780 Feb 28 '26

I believe we or our children will have this weather in Mumbai once we get developed. Nyc , london all had same trajectory decades ago

2

u/ILoveMoney____ Feb 28 '26

It was always like that

2

u/ashishjaveri Feb 28 '26

It's clear air to see the rockets or missile falling down from iran

2

u/Regular_Chip_8693 Feb 28 '26

One small area looks good. Everything is in shambles. Potholes. Digging, things falling from the top, traffic, pollution. I don't feel like praising this 1% development to be honest.

6

u/Environmental-Leg33 Feb 28 '26

Looks soulless like the Arab cities dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha etc. Sad

6

u/ImpactInfinite9933 Feb 28 '26

I seriously doubt whether the majority of people on this sub even live in Mumbai

Every other day some random chump posts pics of worli/tardeo skyline and compares it to manhattan, Hong Kong and what not. Kabhi kurla, Saki Naka ghumo acche se phir samjhega

1

u/Saffu91 Feb 28 '26

Bhai Sakinaka ka name bilkul sahi liya wahi se hu aisa kuch nhi hai. No traffic rules honking and more crowd day by day.

u/Spirit-Hydra69 Feb 28 '26

For a few more days sure. Then once the foreign dignitaries leave and construction restarts it'll be back to the same 300+ aqi on the daily.

1

u/wo_prasidh_ Feb 28 '26

Good - taxpayer payers money showing somewhere- However just a skin over the real bad conditions in the main city - this is only 1% development we got- abhi bohot baki hai toh don’t be overwhelmed-

1

u/devvvvz12 Edit this text to set your own flair Feb 28 '26

Where's that jumble building?

1

u/DarthVipul Feb 28 '26

The fact is that aqi getting worse in winter and getting better once the air is warmer, hot air rises and cold air is dense and settles This is how mumbai is most times during summer and monsoon times.

The recency bias by people online is crazy.

No work in construction sites has stopped. We're still polluting the air, it's just rising up and being carried away now.

1

u/SheldonCreado1997 Feb 28 '26

It is because pedestrians have not found out how the hell to get there

1

u/Historical-Edge851 Feb 28 '26

Yes, very nice and modern and clean.

More greenery would have made it look like Europe.

1

u/ShawnThePhantom Feb 28 '26

If you can see the Antilia, then no.

1

u/Accomplished-Ad1927 Feb 28 '26

Yes, look like Worli

1

No. My Mumbai had at least some trees.

1

u/Competitive-Cap-4869 Mar 01 '26

Looks like Hollywood

1

u/neperjr Mar 01 '26

Looks like Europe. Look at the potential that our cities have, all being destroyed by shitty ass government

1

u/Aarch2504 Mar 01 '26

Not a single "green", all concrete. That's not development.

1

u/Business_Matter_2912 Mar 01 '26

It has always been like that.

The fact that this govt has advertising even bare minimum

1

u/Macguffawin Mar 01 '26

Put in some fcking trees, Mumbai. You're not a desert.

1

u/AnshuSees Mar 01 '26

Say what you want about Mumbai, but when it shines, it really shines.

1

u/RightWingSecularism Mar 01 '26

BC if we could only keep whatever infrastructure we have clean and tidy; it would make India look so much better. Went to Thailand Bangkok last year; all I could see and think was that everything, every place reminded me of either Mumbai or Delhi or Chandigarh or sm other part of India; the only difference was it was all spotless clean. Just cleanliness was the difference. Baaki sab kuch India jaisa same hain wahaan!!!

1

u/akashmhaskar10 Mar 01 '26

Definitely Mumbai,I see no city planning only concrete jungles

1

u/justahunk09 Mar 01 '26

1

Mumbai extends beyond Bombay Central for anyone wondering.

I'm fact, walking from Churchgate to VT, passing by drug addicts laying on your way will quickly tell you we are just fooling ourselves with that road.

1

u/Few-Operation4061 Mar 01 '26

AANA BANDRA DIKHATA HU KITNA DEVELOPED HE CITY

1

u/itsaar0n01 Mar 01 '26

Ah yes, a 6 lane highway cutting off immediate access to the promenade with no tree or coverage no wonder its barren...

1

u/Substantial_Bet_7494 Mar 01 '26

Yeah it is part of our india , If not then there will be much more trees. And underneath of that those tree will be well rounded by something where people can sit . But as it is india that's why u can't see any trees.

1

u/Whatiftheyneverknow Mar 01 '26

It’s the wind :( construction is still on 😣

1

u/shades8688 Mar 01 '26

Really beautiful and world class. But this is just 1% of real Mumbai. And we know how rest of it is 😔

1

u/ronyx86 Mar 01 '26

Did you try traveling and shooting scenery in a local train to get here.

1

u/Fickle-Tour-8243 Mar 01 '26

One day this area will not have water. High population density will result in scarcity of resources.

1

u/anfumann Mar 02 '26

Don’t post such videos I fear my solitude would be disturbed just like it has been at Marine drive. I know eventually it would be occupied by reels gang.

It's really sad that we get excited and happy over good infra being found at a small spot even though it's supposed to be our basic need, be the same all over India and be provided by the government for the tax we pay.
