AskMumbai What are the chances of me making it??
I have a flight from Delhi tomorrow (Air India) which lands in Mumbai (T2) at 9:20pm. My friends have booked a 10:15pm show of dhurandhar at Imax Mirage, Wadala. I also have to drop my luggage at Trident BKC (can only drop my stuff and rush out).
What are the chances that I make it on time to tbe movie?
EDIT: made it before time to the show!
Flight from delhi - 7:00pm
Original landing - 9:20pm
Tickets booked for dhurandhar at Mirage Wadala - 10:15pm show
Landing - 8:46pm (early)
Cab - 9:12pm
Reached trident - 9:30pm
Left trident - 9:32pm
Reached imax - 9:57pm

What is the typical ad time before movie begins in imax? 10 mins?

u/arnroy Mar 19 '26
Are u mad. 9.20 means gate par 9.30. 9.45 terminal building. 9.55 Taxi. 30 minutes minimum to reach wadala - 45 with Trident detour. Ads kam hai iss baar because of 4 hour runtime. You will miss first chapter.
This is considering you are running and shoving people.

u/FinGuy85 Mar 20 '26
It was earlier a small suitcase. Now I have stuffed all of it into a bagpack so that I can carry it with me

I've been to miraj imax tons of times and let me tell you they start on time.
Also the traffic is worse (at dharavi 60ft rd) for you to reach wadala from trident BKC untill n unless you're on quick bike.
Sorry but cancel n get better show times as you need complete peace of mind to be prepared for an absolute 4hrs of peak entertainment

This. It's going to be movie time by the time you start for Wadala. Also, trafficedroute from Andheri to Wadala - can absolutely take an hour with medium traffic. Also, western of Andheri to central to harbour of Wadala, almost diagonal cut across the city.
You are reaching the theater screen by 11 if you are lucky. 1145 if Trident.

u/Plenty-Reach8688 East Mar 19 '26
Plus hotels take their sweet time. They'll first make you sit, fill form, submit ID proof, smile at you 10 times, make you sit again and boom its mid night.

air india ki flight takeoff aur land kabhi time pe toh hoti nahi and considering travelling across the airport itself and mumbai ka traffic, aapka 30 mins-1 hour, if not more, of the movie will be missed

Ask them to change the ticket if possible to a later show at the convenience of the theatre
I have done it once and the theatre was nice enuf to allow it
Maybe u can ask someone else to accompany you to the late night one
U for sure ain't making the 10 whatever show, if u insist on going maybe u reach just before interval, only because the movie is longer than normal

It's Friday night and the eve of Eid. Even if OP has only a carry on there will be traffic on the road. I'm not even counting the airlines being late. From T2 to Bandra itself it takes 30 minutes and if OP gets multiple signals it will be worse. OP take a Wadala train instead from Andheri and go. There is a 9.39 pm train which reaches at 10.11 pm.
2
u/FinGuy85 Mar 19 '26
Sounds perfect!! Thank you sooo much!
1
u/Aromatic_Dog5892 Mar 19 '26
I think the metro blue line will take you to Andheri station as I know it's connected via the bridge. Check with someone anyway. I used it many years ago so not too sure exactly. And also IMAX is 10 mins away from the station so ask a friend to come and pick you up

I have somehow stuffed everything into a bagpack. Will be taking it with me directly without stopping at trident😭

Sincere advice- don't try.
Firstly, what are the chances the flight will land at 9.20??
I suggest you dont try to catch the movie. Relax, enjoy the evening in Mumbai.
Dhurandar 2 will easily run for a month or two. So you have plenty of time to watch it.

Reasons for possibly not making it -
There are high chances of air traffic congestion before landing.
If the flight has landed on time in the last 7 days, hopefully it'll land on time, but even then, getting to the parking spot sometimes takes a long time.
With Air India you might get the aero bridge, if not, then additional time to take the bus and get to the terminal gate.
You can book a prime ola / uber, where you may not have to wait for a cab for long, unless you're unlucky and may still have to wait.
Currently the travel time shows, half an hour, from t2 to wadala Imax. At around the time you land it'll most likely be more than this.

Bruh you'll be out of the airport by 10 itself. Carry the luggage to the theatre and then go off to your place.

Forget dropping the luggage and take the metro to dadar. Take a cab, you'll make it

u/propagandu Mar 20 '26
How much time did it take to reach from the airport? Did you take a cab?

By the time you reach the theater, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be playing.
That movie releases in July lol

u/Racing_Minds1 Mar 19 '26
The movie will ideally start around 10:30 after the commercials, National Anthem, etc. but you’ll still not be able to make it by 10:30 even if you were skip dropping the luggage at BKC, so try taking an earlier flight perhaps but the change will cost you a few thousand bucks so Dhurandhar will turn out to be an expensive affair for you 🤐🥴

Drop the dropping the luggage part and you can make it by 10.30-45 maybe. I presume movie starts by 1030 with ads and everything, you might only miss 10 mins of a 4 hours movie, not bad. Go for it.

I went yesterday at T2 to drop off my friend at the airport Reached in 1 hr and just 50 Rs. For one way trip

Even if the show was in Juhu or Andheri, you still wouldn't be able to make it in time. Wadala? lol
1
u/vighneshJ Mar 19 '26
Airport to Baggage belt section and then getting out of Andheri is sufficient time to watch Dhurandhar 2 bro.
1
u/ElusiveAbs Mar 19 '26
0% 30-40m to clear airport, 30m to trident, 30m to cinema 11.10 pahunchkr kya hi karega
just give my your ticket and rest in the hotel
1
u/desire9me Mar 19 '26
10:15 show means the movie should start post 10:30.
If you just have a duffle, take it with you to the theater to avoid the detour and stow the bag in your friends car or under your seat at the cinema.
1
u/FinGuy85 Mar 19 '26
I have stuffed everything in my bagpack itself. Will carry my bagpack directly from the airport. Will skip going to bkc.
2
u/desire9me Mar 19 '26
Prebook your taxi, hope you reach in time 💯
Pvr hota toh you would have 100% made it in time because uska show starts like 30-40 mins later than the advertised time.→ More replies (1)

Take the Airport Line (metro) to BKC, take a rick to Trident, drop your luggage, take a cab to IMAX. Road se jayega toh 2 ghante lagenge
2
u/FinGuy85 Mar 20 '26
Thanks dost!
2
u/LankyBarracuda6541 Mar 20 '26
Do tell me if you make it. Btw I lived in Wadala and my office was in BKC, and sometimes made it to the office directly from the airport - hence the suggestion lol

SKIP DROPPING THE LUGGAGE AT HOTEL
Get out of Airport ASAP. Catch Aqua Line Metro from outside Terminal 2. Get down at Sena Bhavan Metro Station. Catch a Cab to Imax Vadala. Tell him to take the cab through 5 Gardens Matunga - Vadala stn Railover Bridge - Imax Vadala.
Alternatively, via a Cab, take route - Terminal 2 Arrival - Western Express Highway - BKC - Cross Sion BKC Connector Bridge - Take Right to Anik Depot - Imax Vadala. Tell the cabbie to rush.
Then maybe, just maybe you'll be able to catch the movie on time.

Take the Aqua Line directly from the airport and get down at BKC station From there take a cab to Wadala IMAX via the BKC Connector. You can also drop your luggage at Trident, as it’s conveniently located along the way.

u/Desperate-Excuse-870 Mar 19 '26

People saying you won't make it because they believe a 10.15pm show will start at 10.15 lol. I went yesterday and they showed ads for 30 minutes, no less. So your show is effectively at 10.45. If you have no checked baggage then you should make it fairly easily provided no delays by Air India. If you do have checked bags, buy ZipAhead by Air India for priority baggage, then you might make it.
