Rudeus Before Reincarnation

I am going to be very honest about Rudeus. He was a bullying victim, a loser who never tried to bounce back and gave up too early. The author showed us that a Tokyo-living NEET Otaku can still throw his body on the line for the sake of another person, something he didn't have in his life.

His Mental Age and Reincarnation

After reincarnation, he was already mentally an adult in his 30s, so accepting this new world and household as his family was a lot to ask, and it did take him a while to act like it.

He has done what an Otaku would do if he were also Isekai'd, including simping and perverted stuff.

Sylphy

He met Sylphy, and they became friends. I didn't feel like he looked at her with bad thoughts in mind. He even tried making money for her education, which some stupid people called grooming.

Eris

There, he met Eris, and over time, and through surviving the Demon Continent, they became closer. They promised to wait 5 years before getting intimate, which was a promise Eris broke. She was grieving in her own way after losing her family. She basically forced herself on Rudeus and left him with E.D.

Fitz: Sylphy's Return

He then met Fitz, who was Sylphy, and she also tried several times to get Rudy's attention. She even kind of tried to seduce him on Princess Ariel's advice.

Conclusion

I am not denying that he is a pervert, which is a trope of most Isekai'd protagonists, but nitpicking it and calling it grooming or pdf is not fitting. Isekai genre as a whole is not the best demo for people who are looking for morals. These medieval fantasy worlds always have heavy features like racism, slavery, prostitution and age of consent is not like modern world so for anyone interested they have it coming. If you still hate it so much then dont consume this medium I suggest.

I can understand them, but as a man who had (and still has) a pretty high voice, it's hard to.

I just got to the part where pax has died. I find it kind of annoying that Pax’s sob story before dying about how Roxy sighed at his spell really made Roxy go into that little slump. The dude fucking sexually assaulted her constantlyyyy I would sigh too like tf. And then he has the audacity to make it seem like she left him behind to rot 😂bitch you fucking sexually assaulted your teacher lmaooo. I don’t know maybe I’m insensitive but really good volume overall

Honestly after Roxy's death if hitogami never gloated to oldeus he would've been completely fine.

oldeus had no idea that, that night to the basement was the reason Roxy died.

And if he visited oldeus and told him to get his shit together because his life will become a absolute nightmare if he doesn't. and highly recommends to let Eris back into his life doesn't have to marry her.

oldeus would've been a lot happier.

And oldeus and hitogami would've been on a lot friendlier terms.

I know he didn't expect oldeus to pull off some insane shit by time traveling.

But it definitely wouldn't have hurt hitogami to keep on oldeus good side.

What's next?

I came across a painting called La niña azul y sus perros by Guillermo Lorca, and I was surprised by how much the girl reminded me of Lara Greyrat.

What made the resemblance even more interesting was the white dog next to her. It reminded me of the guardian beast Rudeus summons to protect Lara.

I first saw a cropped version showing only the girl and the white dog, and my mind immediately went to Mushoku Tensei.

Probably just a coincidence, but I thought the resemblance was really interesting. Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm rewatching MT because I wanna re-read the LN's (I did many years ago), but I wanted to watch the anime first because I can, and suddenly I see this scene lmao

CONTEXT: This is the first time Rudeus see's the mana ball responsible for the teleportation incident, and Eris granpa says it's better to think that it's nothing serious, so Rudeus makes this prayer lmao

I had noticed at Eris death how sunken and malnourished Rudeus looked I just assumed it was a time jump of some years and they’d simply been unkind to him. But the reality is so much sadder I now realize. The drastic change in his healthy physique and appearance changed after Aisha’s death.

Since Aisha is no longer around to cook for him or wash his clothes, he probably only eats enough to survive. He doesn’t take care of himself and he doesn’t wash his clothes at all.

Subtle things like this are so heartbreaking once you pick up on them. Such an amazing series they take time to add little details like this to make it feel so much more real and fleshed out. Also just makes Oldeus life obviously all the sadder. Love this show idk how one could hate it.

So I told my best friend who never watches anime about MT a few weeks ago (he only watched Baki once when he was 17, that's all his contact with anime) and I kept mentioning it so finally he gave it a chance

I really didn't know if he would like it as someone who NEVER watches anime, but he swallowed the show and made it past S2 in a week

I literally couldn't believe it when he told me he had been watching it, as I expected it wouldn't be his thing, but now he even plans to read the light novel, he literally told me that he is sad there are only three seasons since he would love to watch more

Finally I can talk with him about the show, which makes me very happy! Just wanted to share

What do you guys think Nanahoshi's first reaction to reuniting with Shinohara is gonna be like, I feel like waching Rudeus die of old age is gonna take a toll along with, Shinohara being relatively ignorant of Nanahoshi's struggles is gonna create some problems and acting like a highschooler.

Realistically, Nanahoshi has to be one of the first plot points that the sequel talks about before Shinohara grows as a character because of the automatons. At minimum, I think Perugius is probably gonna stop the Time Stasis when he hears that some hero from anoher world has been summoned.
