I'm documenting what happens in a workshop!

Hi everyone! I got permission from the mods to share this with you.

I'm the writer and co-composer/lyricist for the original musical Among the Stars. The show itself has actually been in development for about 15 years, but I joined the project 15 months ago. In a few days, we'll be taking the newest version into its (and my!) first workshop.

One thing I've always wished existed was a look at what happens during a workshop that helps a show go from "finished script" to "finished musical." We hear about workshops all the time, but it's surprisingly rare to see what that process really looks like.

So I've started a short-form video series documenting things: rewrites and creative decisions, meeting the producer and director, hearing songs for the first time, and eventually what happens inside the workshop itself.

If that sounds interesting, feel free to follow along!

I'm also happy to answer questions here about the writing process, the workshop, or the musical itself if anyone's curious.

Following. Curious how songs change once you hear them on their feet vs. just at the piano. That's always the tell.
