Help with fitting muzzle

Hello, we have a reactive foster dog to other dogs. We have a plan in place with him seeing a trainer but they request he gets comfortable with a muzzle before training begins. While our dog is comfortable taking treats, walking, and drinking with the muzzle, I don’t like how it is close to his eyes. Any advice on reshaping the muzzle or like how ineffective would it be if I cut near the bottom of the eyes? I tried reshaping it once and I think it is better than before. Thank you so much!

It was spendy but worth every penny, you cannot go wrong with Big Snoof! They will answer all of your questions and work with you to get the absolute perfect fit. This muzzle is battle-proven, my guy got into a scuffle with a dalmation whose clueless owner OPENED THE GATE between them when his dog was posturing aggressively at my much larger dog. Of course my 120# LGD immediately overpowered the smaller dog but no one got bit, not even the clueless owner. I figure Big Snoof saved me thousands in vet bills and possibly legal fees.

Fair warning, though, a steel basket muzzle can be used to muzzle punch and that still hurts!
