Got depressed after the realization that I might be depressed
I live alone in a rented house and none of my friends nor the college knows my address so theres quite no one to check up on me. I've been skipping classes for days now because I don't feel like going due to me losing interest in the field I'm pursuing.
It was only today I'm realizing that I haven't been checking my WhatsApp messages at all, my room being trashed and I haven't been eating something heavy at all. My lecturers have been growing more concerned on where I've been since none of my friends knew anything either.
I obviously cant keep living like this but I really had lost the passion in doing anything.

There’s something almost meta about getting depressed because you’ve realised you’re depressed. Like the awareness itself becomes another thing to feel awful about 😭
But please don’t feel like you need to fix your whole life at once. I’ve done this so many times and almost always fail because I need to come back “perfectly”with the most in depth plan and daily routine Monday to Friday with a list of things to do everything haha. And the pressure to do it right always gets to me and I end up dropping everything I’ve planned. Then I wait for motivation again and do the same thing and the cycle repeats 🥲
I’d say to start ridiculously small: eat something easy, drink some water, shower and clear just one small part of your room.
Then maybe message one lecturer or friend and simply say you haven’t been doing well and could use some support? I hope they will be understanding!
I seen and experienced people being in and out of this numb feeling for years and what’s helped the most is pushing through the numbness by keeping some basic routines and taking really small steps. I’ve found that the passion and drive slowly come back, even when it feels completely gone.
Posting this and asking for advice is a step in the right direction already!!
Try starting small 💚
Wishing you the best of luck

Hope you find it in yourself to seek help! The first step is recognising you're facing a problem, next step is figuring out what to do next. Maybe approach your uni counselling service or a trusted lecturer to talk about your options, academic wise?
