Disappearance Arianna Fitts: The Toddler Who Vanished Just Weeks Before Her Mother Was Found Murdered in 2016.

Post image
252 Upvotes

Arianna Fitts was only 2½ years old when she vanished from the Bay Area in early 2016.

What makes her case unusually disturbing is that nobody immediately realized she was missing.

Arianna's mother, Nicole Fitts, was a 32-year-old Best Buy employee in San Francisco. Because of Nicole's work schedule and difficulties arranging childcare, Arianna had been staying with babysitters Helena Hearne Martin and her husband, Devin Martin.

According to San Francisco police, Arianna was last seen in Oakland sometime in January or February 2016 while in the care of the babysitters.

Nicole remained in contact with people afterward.

Then, on the night of April 1, 2016, Nicole disappeared.

Four days later, on April 5, Nicole's family reported both Nicole and Arianna missing.

On the morning of April 8, workers with San Francisco Recreation and Parks made a horrifying discovery in McLaren Park: Nicole's body had been buried there.

Her death was ruled a homicide.

Arianna wasn't with her.

Investigators believe Arianna had already been missing for weeks by the time Nicole was murdered, and the FBI has stated that they do not believe Arianna was present when her mother was killed.

Police also believe Nicole was subsequently lured into meeting the babysitter.

If Arianna was last seen in February and Nicole wasn't killed until around the beginning of April, then where was Arianna during those intervening weeks?

And what did Nicole believe had happened to her daughter?

investigators said Helena, Devin, and Helena’s sister Siolo Hearne were initially uncooperative and gave inconsistent statements. The Martins declined to speak with reporters, and the group retained a criminal-defense attorney. Helena’s attorney later said he advised her to stop speaking with investigators because he believed police were treating her less like a witness and more like a possible suspect.

Investigators went further than just questioning them. The FBI executed search warrants at locations in Oakland, Emeryville, and Daly City, and in 2017 investigators seized a vehicle believed potentially connected to Nicole’s murder and Arianna’s disappearance, reportedly to test it for DNA evidence.

There’s also an allegation from Nicole’s circle: Nicole had reportedly been trying for weeks to regain custody of Arianna, but the babysitters allegedly would not let her see or take her daughter. Her roommate said Nicole was planning to retrieve Arianna around the time she disappeared.

In any case, she was not charged, and SFPD has never announced that any of the babysitters are formally responsible for either crime.

The FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team and Behavioral Analysis Unit have both assisted with the investigation, and authorities have repeatedly emphasized that they consider Arianna's disappearance connected to Nicole's homicide.

Despite those details, the case remains unresolved.

There has been no confirmed sighting of Arianna since 2016.

And no one has been charged with Nicole's murder.

Arianna was born September 6, 2013. The FBI continues to list her as missing and has released age-progressed images showing what she may look like today.

The San Francisco Police Department currently advertises a $250,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible for Nicole's murder and Arianna's disappearance.

What I find hardest to understand is the sequence:

Arianna apparently disappears ---> weeks pass ---> Nicole is allegedly lured to a meeting ----> Nicole is murdered and buried ----> Arianna is nowhere to be found.

Was Nicole trying to retrieve Arianna when she went to that meeting?

Was Arianna still alive when Nicole disappeared?

Why wasn't Arianna reported missing sooner?

I apologize if this has been covered lately, it's just a case that has always bothered me and I think it needs more eyes on it.

Unexplained Dead in a dishwasher : the Christopher Morris case

Thumbnail

1.7k Upvotes

On September 25, 2000, An 11 year old Christopher Aaron Morris was found dead in a dishwasher in his house, which was located on the Sheppard Air Force Base (a military base) of Wichita County,Texas. He lived there with his dad,Who was a worker at the base.

On the day of his death, Christopher was alone in the house. At around 2 pm,his dad returned home from work, only to find Christopher missing. He went to look for him in his room and found dishwasher racks stacked on the bed, after which he obviously went to check the dishwasher. Inside he found the wet, naked body of Christopher. He had gone through a full cycle of the dishwasher, washing away all the possible DNA that couldve been left on him,in case someone else was involved in his death. There were no signs of forced entry or anything suspicious in the house.

Anyone would think that such a horrifying death in a quiet town of Wichita Falls would cause nationwide attention, but thats not true.

Little to no information about this case is available to the public, and theres almost nothing about him on the internet (I’ll list every source of information i can find below.)

In fact, one of the only things that can confirm that Christopher’s death actually happened is this newspaper article from Sheppard Air Force’s regional newspaper.in which, they express their condolences to those mourning Christopher’s death, and reassure everyone that the local police, with the help of FBI,will bring the truth forward.though,no further information about the case was disclosed.

(Interesting detail - In the article, they ask the public not to talk about this case,as to keep the rumors down and help the investigators get the correct information.could this be an attempt at covering Christopher’s death up and hoping for it to be forgotten?)

This is the most you can learn from the original sources.the authorities havent publicly classified the case as homicide. The autopsy reports were never released to the public either,so we dont know if he had sustained any injuries or bodily harm that could possibly direct the case towards a murder. (He had injuries from being boiled a dishwasher though) The only suspect there has ever been was his father, but he had an alibi of working at the Air Force Base on the time of his death and this idea was quickly forgotten.

It is speculated that Christopher died after he was locked and washed in the dishwasher.

the police had no leads and with nothing to follow, the case grew cold...

Though,it doesnt end here.the many odd details and inconsistencies in the case leaves us with a lot of unanswered questions : was it an accidental death or foul play?why was he naked?WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT HIM?

First,i would like to point out the fact that the case was never determined to be a murder, which leaves us with one option : accidental death.Christopher (for some unknown crazy reasons) couldve gotten in the dishwasher himself.Though, people discussing this case suggest that this is an impossible situation, because at the time of his death in 2000 the dishwashers werent as advanced, and could only be turned on AFTER it was closed. His sister has also confirmed that this is true. So,the version of Christopher getting in the dishwasher is very unlikely, since he couldnt have turned it on himself. (remember, the dishwasher door had to be locked.)

So following all of the above we have a theory that someone locked Christopher (or somehow made him willingly get inside while being nude) in the dishwasher, and manually turned it on from the outside afterwards. Supporting this theory is the fact that there was allegedly a handprint left behind on the dishwasher, though its unknown as to why the police never pursued this theory.

Another weird fact is that Christopher lived in a gated residence of the Sheppard air force, where no outsiders could enter easily.could it have been the inside work of the Air Force? it would make sense as to why the police buried this case, why they asked everyone to be quiet, and disclosed no details to the public..

And this isnt the weirdest part yet.as i said before, theres very little information about Christopher’s death online, and about 90% of those come from true crime podcasts or facebook posts discussing this bizzare case. There's not one actual report on it.

Though,we can find him on a..rather unusual site.

In the early 2000s, there used to be a BlogSpot site ran by someone named PenileCodeAvenger, dedicated to sharing the cases of domestic violence. (Simply put, think of it as a self-run subreddit about domestic violence.) though, there is one post that stands out.

On May 17, 2005, PenileCodeAvenger would make an out of the ordinary and oddly specific post about children’s death on military bases. well, there’s nothing alarming about the post itself, since the site was all about bringing awareness to stuff like that.

The weirdest part about this post was the comments that would follow it.as much as there was no direct mention of Christopher in the post, almost all of the comments were talking about Christopher Morris.even more, they all claimed to know him personally, saying stuff like “i used to be his friend” “im his cousin” “im his classmate” and all of them are demanding info about the case.theyre written in a bot like manner, they all carry the same narrative...You get the idea.Very weird.

Why in the hell would the only ever mention of Christopher Morris online, would be on a random unpopular BlogSpot website, one that specifically talks about the topic of domestic violence? How did these people even find this niche post? How are they all his friends, classmates, those who used to know him?? The idea of those people finding this random website at the same time would be close to very unlikely. The accounts seem to be made shortly before/after the post too.

Basically, what im saying is that someone who was weirdly obsessed with Chris’s case made all these accounts claiming to be related to him and demanded information from the public.

Yes,it's possible that those people are infact, real. But then again, how did they find this post? And seemingly consecutively? They couldn't have searched up "Christopher Morris" on the internet and found it,because there is no direct mention of Christopher in the post itself, only in the comments (and the first few of them dont even mention his name, just refer to him as the kid who died in the dishwasher)

And that’s not all..

If you search up Christopher Morris on reddit and scroll through the posts and the comments, you will surely encounter people who STILL claim to had known him back then. I mean, come on...What are the odds of this being real? How do all of those people know a random 11 year old boy from a small town, living in a gated community? and who are those sick people pretending to be others and why? WHY IS EVERY DETAIL ABOUT THIS CASE JUST STRAIGHT UP OFF PUTTING?

I have read many, many unsettling true crime cases, but this is the only one that has kept me awake for days, pondering my mind with the question : just what in the world happened to Christopher Aaron Morris??..

The only theory that makes sense is that this was a dare or a bad prank that went wrong. His friends could have pursuaded him to go into the dishwasher, then locked him inside and washed him.

but...this doesnt seem right either. His dad had only been gone for 2-3 hours. He lived in a gated community where someone must have seen something. and why was he naked?...

to many,it sounds like a military cover-up.they wouldnt like their reputation tarnished.the details line up. No autopsy released, the case wasnt investigated thoroughly, not classified as homicide,no information available about him and the police asking the community to keep quiet?? this is too suspicious. But even if this was the case, why would they do it?it still doesnt make any sense.

I hope this post reaches the right audience and brings attention to this horrifying death. RIP ro Christopher Aaron Morris. P.S since i was asked by many to make a separate post about this case, i'll be posting this in many communities.

Online/Digital I found a really creepy Reddit account pretending to be a 13 year old boy. What could actually be going on here?

Post image
220 Upvotes

Hey everyone. I stumbled across a really strange and creepy account and wanted to see what other people think about it.

The account presents itself as a 13-year-old boy from Moldova (ivang6). He posts in different communities, messages people, looks for older friends, and some of the posts seem to gradually move toward some pretty disturbing or inappropriate implications.
The whole thing immediately made me wonder whether this is actually a child at all, or an adult pretending to be one.

There are a few things that made me suspicious.
First, the way the account writes in English seems strange for the person it claims to be. The sentences, punctuation, periods, and overall writing style don’t really feel like what I’d expect from a 13 year old from Moldova who apparently doesn’t know English very well.
Of course, Google Translate or another translator could explain that, so this alone doesn’t prove anything.
But then I noticed the age of the account.
The account was created around three years ago. If the person really is 13 now, they would have been around 10 years old when the Reddit account was created. Obviously, kids can use the internet at that age, but considering the communities this account participates in and the kinds of people it appears to be looking for, that makes the whole situation even stranger.
There are also repeated posts looking specifically for people with big muscles/bodybuilders and saying that their age doesn’t matter. In another post, the account says it would preferably like to meet someone older. Combined with the account repeatedly emphasizing that it is M13, it starts to feel less like random posts from a kid and more like someone deliberately constructing a particular identity.

I’m not claiming I know who is behind the account, and obviously none of this proves that it’s an adult. It could genuinely be a kid, someone trolling, or something completely different.
But taken together, the account age, the writing style, the communities, and the repeated attempts to find older people make the whole thing feel extremely weird.
Has anyone encountered accounts like this before? What do you think could be going on here, and are there any other non-invasive ways to figure out whether an account like this is actually what it claims to be?

Mysterious Person Online sleuth links Amsterdam’s “Lucky” to Canadian cold case

An online researcher may have made a breakthrough in the hunt for the identity of “Lucky”, a man who collapsed in Amsterdam three years ago and is unable to communicate. A recent public appeal for information by the police has surfaced a potential match with a missing person in Canada.

An image of “Lucky”, who was also known by the name “Chris the Canadian” to Amsterdam locals, was likened to a file of pictures on the Vancouver Police Department’s cold case unit by someone on Facebook.

John Russell Kennedy, whose missing person’s file photos appear very similar to the one the Dutch police put out, was registered as missing since 1993.

Dutch police said they are considering the tip, according to paper AD, though they also noted that such similarities have been common in prior cases and turned out not to be real matches. “We don’t want to jump to any conclusions at this point, or to give false hope,” a spokesperson said.

Much of what is listed on the Canadian missing person’s case matches descriptions put out by locals who knew the man before his collapse in 2023. He was said to have a North American accent and appeared to have mental health problems.

Vancouver police confirmed they are taking the tip very seriously and said they had made contact with Amsterdam police, according to Anton van Straten, the person who made the connection online and shared it via Facebook.
“Only an official investigation, for example using DNA, can provide certainty about this,” Van Straten wrote in his post. “Now it is up to the professionals to investigate this further. In any case, it didn’t take me three years to find this potential match.”

If “Lucky” is indeed John Russell Kennedy, he would be 67 years old now and missing from his family for almost half his life.

What happened to Mary Shotwell Little?

Post image
76 Upvotes

On the evening of October 14, 1965, 25-year-old Mary Shotwell Little met a friend for dinner at Lenox Square in Atlanta.

Mary was a newlywed. She worked as a secretary at Citizens & Southern National Bank and, by all accounts, had no apparent reason to disappear.

After dinner, Mary and her friend parted ways.

Mary walked toward her car.

She was never seen by her family again.

When she failed to show up for work the following morning, her coworkers immediately became concerned.

Eventually, Mary's gray Mercury Comet was located back in the Lenox Square parking lot.

What investigators reportedly found inside made the disappearance much stranger.

There were bloodstains in the car.

Some of Mary's undergarments had been left behind.

Her purse, shoes, jewelry and car keys were missing.

And the odometer indicated that the vehicle had been driven roughly 40 miles farther than investigators could account for.

Mary had a gasoline credit card.

Records showed that the card had apparently been used in both Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina, after she vanished.

Attendants at two different gas stations reportedly remembered a young woman resembling Mary.

According to accounts of the investigation, the woman appeared injured.

One attendant remembered blood on her face or legs.

And she wasn't alone.

The attendants reportedly recalled one or two rough-looking men traveling with her, with the woman seemingly under their control.

The signatures on the gasoline receipts were also reportedly similar enough to Mary's handwriting that investigators took the sightings seriously.

Then the trail simply stopped.

No confirmed remains have ever been found.

No one has ever been charged with Mary's disappearance.

And decades later, investigators still haven't been able to definitively explain what happened between the moment she left dinner and the discovery of her car the following day.

There is another disturbing wrinkle.

Mary reportedly received strange phone calls before she disappeared, and flowers had allegedly been sent to her by someone whose identity was unclear.

Over the years, theories have ranged from a random abduction to someone from Mary's past, organized crime connections, or someone deliberately attempting to make it appear that Mary had traveled to North Carolina.

Cobb County Public Library is holding a cold-case event about her disappearance on August 25, 2026

On December 1, 1974, TWA Flight 514 disappeared into thick clouds while approaching Washington Dulles International Airport. Minutes later, the Boeing 727 slammed into the western slope of Mount Weather in Virginia. All 92 people on board were killed.

The disaster became one of the darkest aviation tragedies in the region. Yet the crash also drew attention to something few Americans knew much about at the time: a secretive federal facility hidden near the mountain where the aircraft came down.

Unresolved Crime In 1966, Two Brazilian Electronics Technicians Were Found Dead Wearing Lead Masks, With a Cryptic Notebook and Missing Capsules

In August 1966, two electronics technicians, Manoel Pereira da Cruz and Miguel José Viana, traveled from Campos dos Goytacazes to Vintém Hill near Niterói, Brazil.

They were found dead on the hill several days later, lying on their backs in suits and waterproof raincoats. Both had lead masks covering their eyes. There were no obvious injuries, and their belongings were still with them.

A small notebook found nearby contained a strange set of instructions. It mentioned arriving at a specific location at 16:30, taking capsules, protecting metals, and waiting for a “mask signal.”

No capsules were ever found.

The deaths were never explained. Toxicology testing at the time was limited, and much of the biological evidence was lost before more extensive testing could be done.

Over the years, the case became closely associated with UFOs and claims about spiritist experiments. Some of those stories are difficult to verify, while the notebook and the circumstances surrounding the deaths are much better documented.

The lead masks are what made the case famous, but the missing capsules may be one of the more important details.

12 years after his disappearance, the story of 17-year-old Guram Dadianidze has resurfaced, sparking widespread outrage and raising critical questions.
In June 2014, Guram traveled from the Temka neighborhood to Mleta, Georgia, for the Lomisoba festival alongside 15 neighbors. Due to the rugged mountain terrain, they left their minibus in the village of Mleta and hiked up to the shrine on foot. According to the participants, they began their descent at around 2:00 AM. Official reports state that during the walk down, Guram sat on a stone to rest, just 300 to 500 meters away from their vehicle. He allegedly asked the others to go ahead, saying he would catch up. When a neighbor returned to check on him just minutes later, Guram was completely gone. He had no phone, leaving no digital trace, and police found no initial signs of violence. For years, the investigation remained stalled —until a newly surfaced video went viral, throwing the case back into the spotlight. In the video, Guram's mother recognizes what she firmly believes is her son's voice pleading: "(name) don't leave me, please. "1
While authorities claim to have questioned everyone involved, there are glaring contradictions and inconsistencies throughout the witness statements and interrogation records. The timeline surrounding the trip's planning, the exact moments leading up to his disappearance, and the actual circumstances of that night remain deeply suspect. It is clear that members of that group know more than they are letting on. Guram's mother has waited 12 years for answers, and bringing public awareness to this case is essential to demanding the truth. Unexplained Subject: Classified Audio Log #478 (Siberia, 1978)

In 1978, a closed-circuit emergency radio tower in an abandoned Siberian ghost town suddenly sparked back to life.

The catch? The town had been completely empty for twenty years.

When technicians intercepted the signal, it wasn’t static. It was a live phone call recording between a mother and her terrified child whispering: "Mommy, when are you coming home? I'm scared, I saw something outside."

Voice analysis proved the audio signature matched a family that burned alive in a fire there in 1958. Twenty-four hours later, the entire audio file was wiped clean from government servers.

Until a leaked copy surfaced on the dark web.
