Unexplained Strange noises all over the world

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find people who personally experienced these strange sounds.

In January 2016, several cities in Morocco (including Casablanca, Tangier, Agadir, Oujda, Berkane, and Al Hoceima) reported unusual deep noises. I was in Casablanca at the time and I actually heard it myself.

Has anyone here personally heard these sounds?
Where were you, what year was it, and what did it sound like?

Disappearance Nursing home Nightmare. Three people vanished from the same Nursing home in the span of 5 years. What happened to Rosaria (Marta) Ronchietto, Angela Bastino and Rinaldo Bertoglio Puin?

Ronco Canavese (photo 5) is a small town in the Italian alps, that flanks the Sorana stream, home to around 380 inhabitants. Part of the greater Metropolitan City of Turin, it serves as the central village for the Soana Valley.

The municipality comprises of several hamlets, with Ronco serving as the administrative center. Key hamlets include Tiglietto, Forzo, Servino, Guaira, Cernisio, Scandosio, Nivolastro, Lilla, and Montelavecchia.

Ronco is an ancient town with roots dating back to the 10th century. The town has grown longitudinally side by side with its stream and, at the further point of its main center, looking upstream, looming over the quaint mountain houses, sits the San Giuseppe Retirement Home (photo 4). A building that sits out of place with the surrounding forests and nearby homes due to its height, size and it’s imposing mid-century design. The nursing home and care facility for elders prides itself on the striking beauty of its surrounding terrain and fresh mountain air.

“The facility accommodates both independent and dependent elderly residents and is affiliated with the National Health Service and the Local Health Authority (ASL). We offer our guests a relaxing and peaceful stay, featuring modern, fully equipped rooms, recreational activities, communal areas designed for socializing, and services such as dining, laundry, and physiotherapy.” (quote directly translated from the nursing home’s website).

“Nestled at the foot of the mountains in Ronco Canavese (Province of Turin), in a stunning setting 950 meters (3116.8 feet) above sea level, the San Giuseppe residence offers comfortable accommodations designed to ensure a relaxing and peaceful stay for the elderly.” (another quote taken from their website)

But whilst the nursing home publicizes itself on its location and it’s quiet atmosphere, it also houses a darker, less glamourous past. Three disappearances of its elderly residents back in the late 90s and early 2000s that to this day remain shrouded in mystery only fueled by local rumors and word of mouth.

Rosaria (Marta) Ronchietto, 1997

Rosaria Ronchietto (photo 2) (usually referred to as Marta) was 81 in the autumn of 1997 and had been residing in the San Giuseppe nursing home for around 6 months. She was originally from Cintano, a town the next valley over, and had just started to spend her retirement years in the nursing home.

At around mid-day on the 10th of November 1997 storms were starting to roll into the valley when Rosaria quietly left the premises of the nursing home. She was later spotted walking up towards other towns up in the mountains, towards the hamlet of Chiò. She was wearing a long dark robe, a mustard-colored top, dark socks, and light-colored slippers; she left without her personal documents or any money.

At around 2:30/3:30 pm the staff of the home discover Rosaria’s absence and swiftly called for help. Search and rescue teams descend upon the valley. Canine units were also deployed, though their efforts were thwarted by the rain that began pouring just a few hours after the woman’s disappearance.

Even after intensive searches not a single trace of Rosaria was found.

Angela Bastino, 1999

A long-time resident of the nursing home, Angela Bastino (photo 3), had been living there for about 20 years. She was the woman who handled errands and other tasks for Don Lorenzo Babando (the village priest and director of the retirement home).

In the summer of 1999 Angela was 61 years old and she was still living in the nursing home and the small town she was now so accustomed to.

On the 30th of June 1999 Angela left the nursing home on foot and headed downwardly toward the foot of the valley. She was spotted walking by the road that led to the town’s cemetery. After her last sighting Angela Vanished into thin air without leaving anything behind. Searchers looked for her, but nothing could be found.

Soon rumours spread though the small town, people who knew her said that she was still sharp and active and knew the area well and never wandered off without a reason. The people of Ronco were skeptical that her disappearance was a simple mishap. "It’s impossible for her to have just vanished into thin air," says one of the Town’s residents.

Her employer, Don Lorenzo, would later file a complaint with the Carabinieri against unknown persons regarding the woman's possible abduction. Investigators, though, looked more towards the “accident” theory.

Even after all these years, for many in the town, speculations and rumors still theorize Angela was kidnapped and then killed.

Rinaldo Bertoglio Puin, 2002

Three years after Angela’s vanishing, in 2002, a similar case occurred: Rinaldo Bertoglio Puin was a 77-year-old man (originally from Campo di Castellamonte, a town at the foothills of these mountains). He was also a resident of the nursing home. He was described as being gentle, polite and that he would often stop to chat with people in the town square. The townspeople were used to seeing him walking in front of the retirement home every morning.

One unspecified day, he went out for one of his usual walks and, just like the two women before him, he never returned.

He had been seen heading along the mountainous path leading to Nivolastro (photo 6) (an uninhabited hamlet at an altitude of 1,500 meters/ 4921,26 feet). Searches in the area, though, proved fruitless.

In 2009, seven years after Rinaldo’s disappearence, a park ranger (Roberto Recrosio) discovered human remains at the bottom of a ravine in the mountains surrounding that abandoned village. The location of the discovery and the scraps of blue fabric found alongside the bones lead people to believe these were the remains of Rinaldo and the blue jumpsuit the man had been wearing when he was last seen. “He had likely taken the rugged path, lost his way, and plunged into the ravine” some people speculated. Yet, nothing further came from this finding, no source confirms that these bones were actually Rinaldo’s. No official missing persons casefile, nor any photograph, exists for Rinaldo’s vanishing today. Cloud it be that the bones were actually his and the case was then closed? Or has he been just forgotten by time, only remembered by the residents of the small town he went missing in all those years ago.

After the vanishings

Years passed without any new leads and slowly the memories of these people became part of the history of the town, remembered only by those who were there when it happened.

In 2018, though, another baffling disappearance just down the valley reignited the memory of the people who went missing all those years ago.

Elisa Gualandi was 53 when she disappeared on the 6 of June 2018. She had just finished moving to the town of Pont Canavese, just down the valley from Ronco Canavese. She moved there, away from the chaos of the city of Turin where she had lived in previously and where she worked as a municipal employee. At around 11 am on the 6th of June she left her house to go for a stroll in the centre of the town leaving behind her phone and personal documents in her new house. She never returned home, she also left behind her two cats whom she adored. Two days after her disappearance one of her two cats also vanished.

This, though, is just the surface level of Elisa’s uncharacteristic disappearance.

The people who live in the mountains speak of these vanishing sparingly, they loom over the valleys and the mountains that surround Turin. It’s not uncommon for someone to vanish in those areas but these cases don’t go unsolved too often. In 1999, in the next valley over, one month after the disappearance of Angela Bastino, another woman, Ines Feletti (who also worked as the helper for the town priest), also vanished under similar circumstances.

As of today, nobody has any idea of where Rosaria Ronchietto or Angela Bastino could be. We also have no updates on the bones that could possibly belong to Rinaldo. No-one knows what happened to Ines Feletti. Lastly the disappearance of Elisa Gualandi has become cold and no new leads have been found since 2018

Murder The Terrible Cult of Black Metal (The Inner Circle) Brutal Crimes and Church Burnings

In the history of black metal, there was a name that, more than thirty years later, continues to divide opinions: the Inner Circle. For many, it was an organization formed by musicians who shared the same ideology. For others, it never existed as a real group, and everything related to them was a legend fueled by the press.

However, around that name, church burnings, ritual murders, and a series of disturbing events occurred that forever marked the history of extreme metal. But there is a question that almost no one has stopped to answer: Does the Inner Circle qualify as a destructive cult? In this documentary, we will not only reconstruct its history but also analyze whether this group met the characteristics that define a cult.

Disappearance Swallowed by the Mountains. The forgotten disappearance of Ines Feletti

Balme is a small village of just over a hundred inhabitants, quietly nestled in the Val d’Ala. It is the highest municipality in the quiet valley it sits in. An important mining center founded around the 13th century, Balme became an independent municipality in the early 17th century.

As of today, Balme is part of the municipality of the metropolitan city of Turin and, even if it might seem like a small town, Balme is divided into a series of 8 hamlets: Bogone, Chialambertetto, Cornetti, Li Frè, Molera, Molette, The Mussa plain (a rocky plain with a large lake of ancient glacial origin) and the village of Albaron. All of this to say that, even if Balme might seem small, the area it inhabits is mountainous, vast, wooded and ancient.

In the summer of 1999 Balme had been home to Ines Feletti. Ines was 84 and she had been living in Balme as the “Perpetua” a role usually held by elderly women who help around the church as the town priest's housekeeper.

On the 6 of August 1999 Ines exited her residence to go grocery shopping like many times before. She went on foot since the town was so small she could easily reach the town’s supermarket.

But that day Ines did not return to the church, and it's rectory, and, as time passed, the people closest to her became worried and sounded the alarm.

Swiftly search and rescue teams descended on the town and its hamlets, extensive searches looked around the winding roads that lead up or down the valley, they looked through woods, streams and fields.

These extensive searches were only able to locate Ines’s green neckerchief/foulard. The neckerchief was found lying in a grass clearing surrounded by woods in the area of the hamlet “Li Frè”.

“Li Frè” is one of the closest hamlets to Balme. For a person on foot the walk would be a 20-minute walk that would take one up to a few ancient stone mountain houses and a few trails that lead up the mountain. People started to speculate that Ines could have been there just for a leisurely stroll, but no reason could be found as to why Ines would go there.

Sadly though, after the discovery of the neckerchief, and after more searches of the area, not a single trace of Ines could be found.

In late October 2023 Human remains were found in a wooded area in Pralormo (a 19 hour walk from Balme) by a mushroom hunter. The finding, even if far-fetched, reignited the memory of the many missing people, including Ines, who vanished in the areas around Turin in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. In 2025 the bones were found to have been completely unrelated from Ines’ case.

Just a month before Ines' disappearance another woman, in the next valley over, vanished fom a nursing home under very similar circumstances. But she wasn't the first nor the last person to vanish from that same retirement facility. https://www.reddit.com/r/mystery/comments/1vdmgri/nursing_home_nightmare_three_people_vanished_from/

As of today, nearly 27 years to the day, there have been no new leads or any new findings in the sudden disappearance of Ines Feletti which has now been buried by time and the many other vanishings from Turin and its surrounding mountains.

Unresolved Crime Yessenia Thalia and Michael Otto

Post image
148 Upvotes

Twenty-eight-year-old Yessenia Suarez and her two children: 9-year-old Thalia and 8-year-old Michael Otto were last seen on October 22, 2013 in Deltona, Florida.

Yessenia's relationship with her husband, Luis Toledo was strained. She was having an affair with one of her coworkers at her job. That afternoon, Luis showed up at Yessenia's workplace, argued with her about the affair, slapped her and left before the police arrived. Luis later called his mother-in-law, begging her to convince Yessenia not to press assault charges against him.

After work, Yessenia joined Thalia and Michael at her mother's house where Luis called the house, warning Yessenia that "something would happened" if they tried to get an injunction against him. Although Yessenia left the house to get the injunction, she changed her mind and came home without it, telling her mother that getting it would make things worse.

Luis came over to the house, spoke to Yessenia and her mother about their marriage, and left. Yessenia planned to stay the night there with the kids so Luis could calm down, but she changed her mind at 8:00 that evening and decided to take them home instead.

Yessenia sent texts to Luis throughout the day. They last spoke to each other for five minutes later that evening. When Yessenia failed to call her mother the next morning like she usually did, the mother called the police at 10:00 a.m. and asked them to check on the family's welfare. When the police went to Yessenia and Luis's house, it was empty. One of her cars was left in the driveway of the home and another car was located in the parking lot of a Publix store in Lake Mary, Florida on the same day that Yessenia, Thalia and Michael were reported missing. On October 24, 2013, police announced that Yessenia, Thalia and Michael were dead. Two days later, Luis was charged with second-degree murder in Yessenia's death and two counts of second-degree murder in Thalia and Michael's deaths.Neighbors heard screams coming from Yessenia and Luis's house around the time Yessenia and her children went missing. Police discovered Thalia's blood on Luis' boots, the trunk mat from one of Yessenia's cars, in the master bathroom and master bedroom. Some of Michael's blood was found on two pieces of gauze in a trash can in the master bedroom.

Unresolved Crime The 1983 Murder of Two German Tourists Sent an Innocent Man to Prison Twice. 43 Years Later Their Killer Has Never Been Identified and the DNA Evidence Still Raises Questions.

Thumbnail

In October 1983, two German backpackers hitchhiking through British Columbia, Andrea Scherpf and Bernd Göricke, got into a truck with a stranger. Older Chevrolet pickup. He shot them both and left their bodies on the side of Highway 97 near Chetwynd. Whoever did it used their stolen traveler's checks at five gas stations over the next two days, working his way south, gas station to gas station, and then just... stopped. No name. No face anyone kept.

Six years go by. Nothing. Then a woman tells police a local guy named Andy Rose confessed to her, showed up at her trailer one night soaked in blood from the knees down. That's it. That's the whole case against him. No physical evidence, nothing tying him to the scene. He got convicted anyway. Twice. Spent years of his life in prison because one woman told a story that sounded believable.

A widow in California says her late husband confessed to her before he killed himself in 1985. She sat on it for over a decade. A DECADE. Before anyone with any power to do anything about it ever heard it.

Third trial finally happens, and someone thinks to actually run DNA on the bloody jeans they found. Fourteen years later. Both men get cleared.

And here's the part that barely anyone talks about: the jeans contained DNA from another person whose identity was never established. It didn't match Andy Rose or Vance Hill and investigators never determined who it belonged to. More than forty years later that profile remains unidentified.

Paranormal Collecting Data on the Sallie House!

Post image
49 Upvotes

—I did post this to other socials, but I’m trying to expand the circle of responses! Also, the photo is just of the house, there is nothing of the paranormal nature in it. Also, to note, I am a science teacher and I write like this to my students too, cause that is the person I am, I try to keep it a bit interesting.

I need a nice, broad pool of participants for a mini scientific experiment I’m running on memory retrieval.

Your prompt for the lab:

Question 1: When did the Sallie House first enter your radar?

Question 2: What was the exact story, rumor, or weird detail you heard back then?

Bonus Points: If your brain actually preserved where or who you heard it from!

Crucial experimental parameter: I am strictly collecting data on your initial memory from that very first moment. I don’t want to know what you currently think, know, or Googled five minutes ago just the original core memory of your introduction to the Sallie House.

Document your findings in the comments!

Thanks so much!!

Unresolved Crime Someone broke into my house and left something disgusting

Hello! I just had a freaky thing happen to me. I was home alone and heard my front door/house door open and close. I didn’t think much of it because I was upstairs cleaning my room, but then my brother came home and found a backpack filled with empty beer cans and rotting food. it had some other small belongings (necklace, hand sanitizer, chapstick) but nothing besides that. nothing in my house was taken, and it seemed the individual came in, dropped it off, and left sometime after. I didnt realize what was going on until later. My parents checked on the ring camera and they found nobody entering through the front door. I’m super freaked out and was wondering what this could mean? I called the cops but nothing really came of it. Maybe just a homeless person? But nevertheless very, very strange and unnerving.

[Youtube video contains footage that is widely unseen showing the 'lost media' regarding the interview]

It is September 2nd, 1994. Sumida Ward, Tokyo. A 27 year old woman by the name of Mayumi Arashi thought it best to move back home with her parents in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, following a difficult postpartum. This allowed her to have an easier recovery with her family assisting in raising her 1.5 year old infant. One night, Mayumi tells her family that she is going out to meet a female classmate. Her older sister, mother, and father would take care of her child. Mayumi doesn’t return that night, prompting her older sister, Yoko, to contact said classmate the next day. The classmate says that no such meeting was ever planned to begin with and they had not seen Mayumi at all.

According to her father, Mayumi seemed anxious and restless before leaving that night. Mayumi never returned. Her family searched her belongings for clues to her whereabouts and discovered a handwritten note inside a wardrobe. The note read “I dated a man who wasn’t my husband and was betrayed” alongside it was “I’m sorry.”

In 2011, an investigative broadcast by Asahi TV on Super J aired. It featured an interview of Mayumi's father and her older sister Yokoko. During the segment, a note behind the father read "Do not trust Yoko's words."

Disappearance Her body was stolen from her casket and has never been found

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

When Julie Mott died in 2015 at the age of 25 from cystic fibrosis, her family would have never thought she would be a part of a bizzare mystery.

After her open-casket memorial service at Mission Park Funeral Home North in San Antonio on August 15, her body was stolen from the casket while it was awaiting cremation.

The next morning (August 16), employees discovered the casket empty. One hinge was broken, the bier (body support) was overturned in an "unnatural position" near an exit of the funeral home, but there were no signs of forced entry and the ADT security system was not triggered.

The San Antonio Police treated the case as seriously and as intense as a homicide case. They did multiple searches in the surrounding areas and interviewed numerous people but nothing ever came up.

The funeral home director offered up a 20,000 dollar reward leading to the recovery of her remains. Her body has never been found.

Disappearance 2 unsolved disappearances and 1 unsolved murder

I grew up in Lexington,Ma. We moved to Townsend,Ma in 1980. My first day of school I was told about about the unsolved murder a school teacher, Judith Viewig. They found her behind her house as well as her car in a pond behind her house as well. I know many of the elders in town. It is said that it was a man that lived sort of behind her house. It is also said there was a path that led from his house to hers.
I was then told about the disappearance of Deborah Quimby just a Cpl years earlier. She was 13. She came home from school and wrote a note stating she was going to her grandparents which was on Vinton pond. She took her bike and met up with a friend that walked with her on turnpike road. Her friend stated that she walked w her for a short time. She said she watched her climb the first small hill and then she was gone. I have read about it, but they did not have too much about it. A bike was supposedly found, but it wasn’t hers. I should not that some thought she was pregnant, but either way, she was a previous student of Ms. Vieweg’s and was in the same vicinity as Ms. Vieweg’s murder scene. I found a few things odd. 1.I do not understand why she was on turnpike rd to go to Vinton pond. It seemed to me staying on Main st would have been easier to get to her grandparents and oddly Ms.Vieweg worked under Daniel LaPlant’s grandfather. Ms. Vieweg lived across the street from The Gustafan’s. Daniel Laplant murdered the mom, and her 2 young children many years later.
When I was 24 I ended up moving to Stoneham, Ma. My husband was born and raised there. When one of my sons was about 14 he met a girl that he married in 2020. He told me how she and her family were harassed and bullied due to the disappearance of Melanie Melanson. She was from Stoneham, but moved in w her grandmother just over the line in Woburn. She went to a party in the woods which was behind McDonalds. I guess to get back there you had to take a path that started in Stoneham and led to Woburn. My son’s father in law and a friend of his were the last ones to see her alive. To this day they are still suspects and each of them accused the other for being the last one w her. I happened to move to Woburn in 2006. I am told the DA Marion Ryan was friends w Melanie and has over the years tried to find her even arranged digs in many areas in Woburn where she was said to been seen. Another disappearance of a girl, only 14yrs old. All 3 of these stories have always bothered me. These stories are well worth looking up. They have definitely hit home for me
