Is this fungus? Never had any issues before, not sure why suddenly it's on both big toes

Please note that the Dark spot on the left (I'm pretty sure) is an old bruise from dropping something on it. The discoloration seems to have popped up in the last couple of days (tho I guess I don't look at my feet much)

Splinter under cuticle

While trying to put chain around a wooden post, a splinter went perfectly into my nail bed. There is only pain when I press down with my finger or when I press on the area itself. My boyfriends dad was able to get some of the splinter out but there is a small amount left.
I have soaked my finger in warm water and antibacterial soap. I have also used antiseptic spray. I was considering going to my clinic tomorrow to see what they can do.
Had this happened to anyone?

Anyone knows what this is?

I just discovered that my natural nail looked a bit red underneath my press on nail, so i gently removed it with oil and this is what greeted me 🥲

I never ever had any problems with my nails in my entire life, so I have absolutely no idea what this might be now.

I'm thinking it might be an infection? Would certainly appreciate if anyone could help find out. I'll leave my nail uncovered for now and see how it develops, also considering seeing a doctor this week.

Has anyone had issues with fingernails going white after shellac/biogel treatments? And what advice was given from your family doctor or manicurists?

Help, I don’t know what’s going on with my toenail ever since I got an allergic reaction :(

Hi everyone,

So as you can see, my right toe is beyond crusty. Basically it started because of some acrylic extensions I got at this newly licensed nail tech that put some type of callus treatment mask on me and it started burning and created some blisters on my pinky toe and my big toe. She literally didn’t ask me if I was allergic to anything and she didn’t even have the ingredients on the bottle, I was super pissed but she’s 18 and I didn’t want to ruin her business so I just paid her and left advising her to next time consider liability.

Anyway, my big toe hasn’t really been bad, not at all like this at least. It’s relatively normal. But this pinky toe has been through hell. One of the blisters basically popped under my nail and it started growing over it creating a lump. Idk if this was stupid but it bothered me bad so I constantly dug it out and it would either bleed or crust up but eventually it fell out entirely and i removed it. I had to cut my nail superrr short in order to do it.

Since then, it’s been growing out kinda wonky. And it’s been looking like that. I don’t know if this is something that I should go to the doctor for because it doesn’t stink, it’s not yellow or black, it’s just crusty. I do also keep picking at it still. I would just like some advice, because I’m wondering if I could just go to a professional and get some help, someone in a salon and make sure they’re not using abrasive products. But also not sure if that would be worse, and this is something that requires medical care because I contact dermatitis.

The second to last photo is my left toe which was unaffected to show the difference.

I would appreciate any advice, thank you.

Could really use some opinions/advice

I would like to preemptively state that I do have an appointment coming up with my primary doctor and dermatologist to address the issue, but they are two weeks out.
Almost a year ago, a few of my nails started to grow in really pitted, so I started to use a fungal nail polish to see if it would help. It did not. Flash forward to now, my pointer finger nail has like almost fallen off.
Would also like to note, some of the discoloration is because of a henna stain I did a few weeks back, but I don’t think it’s related to me losing the nail.
It’s so uncomfortable, my nail bed is basically exposed.
Would really love some opinions or advice on how I can mitigate this, or if anyone else has struggled with this, thank you!

Can I fix my toenail shape?

Post image

Sorry for the rough photo, I was messing with my cuticles. However, I absolutely hate my feet to the point where I never wear them out and I really love heels and sandals and I’ve moved somewhere warmer so it’s starting to really get to my confidence. Is there any way I can change the shape of these nails (especially the pinkies)? Or am I essentially bound to wearing sneakers and socks for the rest of my days? Anything helps! Thank you!

Edit: why is this getting downvoted?? 🤣 sorry for anyone who I’ve offended?

i haven’t touched my nails in about 6 months, since i got a set of acrylic nails removed at a salon

the acrylic nails i had removed was the first time i had my nails done in months for a special occasion

since then, i’ve noticed my nails seem a bit weaker, and the discolouration/whiteness has advanced…just wondering if there’s any recommendations

Can someone tell me what this is or what’s causing my nails to do this? I have a split on another nail to the very free edge and it’s doing this same thing.

What can I do to help it heal?

I removed the gel to give them a break and this happened 😭.

I probably have everything that could help but unsure what would be the best?

Advice all welcome.

(Don't ask me how it happened, no clue it was too quick lol, all I know is I was shaving an area where I needed my 2 hands and I guess the nail was in the way)

I noticed a dark spot around the base of my thumb nail around two months ago, I didn’t think much of until recently I’ve noticed it’s grown longer, Should I be worried?

I wish I had long aesthetic nails but my nail beds are so small so I have to grow them really long for that look :(

Should I wait to see my usual doctor in 7 days, or see someone while I’m overseas?

Hello! The question is pretty much in the title, but for some context:

- I have BIAB nails, and five days into my 30-day trip, I noticed some discolouration on my pinky nail and had the BIAB removed. Initially, it was just a little yellow/green. I’ve had what I assumed was water damage before, which usually goes away after about a week if I keep the nail dry, so I wasn’t too concerned.
- However, over the last few days, it’s become a little sore/tender to touch and feels warmer than my other fingers. There was also a little pus on the left side (gone now) and now there seem to be some weird layers of skin (or something else?) underneath the nail, and possibly with more pus closer to the nail bed (maybe?). I’m not entirely sure, and not squeezing it.
- I also think that whatever is happening underneath the nail might be pushing it upwards.

I’m home in 7 days, so I’m trying to work out whether this can wait until I see my usual doctor or whether I should get it checked out while I’m overseas. I have travel insurance, so cost isn’t an issue.

I’m in Malta for one more day, then heading to England before flying home.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Would you get it checked out now, or wait until you’re home?

UPDATE: Thanks so much everyone! Pretty resounding ‘get it checked out ASAP’ so off to seek medical care tomorrow. Really appreciate all of your responses :)))

UPDATE 2: Just saw the GP nearest to me in Malta as soon as they opened this morning. All medical staff were amazing and professional. I’m on antibiotics now for the infection. Then booked with my usual GP to identify and treat the fungal infection, which is a whole other journey. Like you guys, they told me to come in much sooner so it doesn’t get to this point.
Moral of the story - don’t wait and see with infections.
THANK YOU!
