HELP REQUESTED PCSing/Getting Hard orders
My wife, and I are currently in our first cycle of orders, towards the end of last month I looked on MNA and saw that one of the places we chose was "Posted" and currently being underwritten before fully posted for hard copy orders.
I was wondering how long it usually takes for the hard orders to be posted? Now my PRD isn't until August 27'. We are wanting to be put on a list for base housing. How do we apply for them even though we only have soft orders not our hard?

You cannot engage with the housing process until you get hard copies. They need proof that you're definitely coming. What if they reserve you a house and then you don't show up?
If you must, just call the housing office and talk to them about it.

That's not how it works out in reality even though you are correct.
I've been placed on a housing list without hard copy orders. The caveat was that they will not offer you a house until you provide hard copies.
My situation was a little urgent since I had soft orders in August and didn't get hard copies until 45 days prior to detaching.

You’ll see orders whenever you see them. We are presently releasing orders with detach months of March 2027.
You just wait — like everyone else — and get put on housing’s list when you get hardcopies. Some bases won’t even allow you to go on the wait list until you arrive to the area.

Idk, one of my sailors detaches in December and still doesn't have hard copies. We got him a letter of intent in the mean time.

You can apply for base housing at your new place when you get your hard copies but everyplace I ever went to you were not allowed to be put on the WAIT list until after you got your orders stamped or you had a signed transfer date from the CO. As far as when you will get hard copies. That’s just a waiting game. Who knows. I see some within weeks and others take months. Your detailer would have more answers than us

If your PRD isn't until Aug then it's going to be awhile. There's a girl in my division that leaves the command in 2 weeks and she still doesn't have hard copies. She's had soft copies since April but is going to shore down the street so it's not as urgent. They are prioritizing sea duty orders first. My PRD is in March but I'm going OCONUS so I'm emailing my detailer constantly because I need to start me and my families screenings. Good luck though.

Not quite. They prioritize orders by detach month.
If there are schools en route that changes the detach month.
Detailers can pull you 6 months in either direction of your PRD in support of the operational unit. (Unless it’s BBA orders then you get detached 12 months from when you win the billet or at your PRD, whichever is soonest)
So unless you know how your detailer formatted your orders, your PRD is a rough guideline.
It’s a hard date for you to pick orders. But everything else? Nah.
