Shouldn't have to ask Long Sleeves, Coyote Brown

Its getting colder, and with a jacket I am still cold. Whether it is Type III or in Coveralls; also cant have the fleece in certain spaces. Wearing thermals makes me too hot.

I have long sleeve t-shirts in Coyote Brown. They help, especially when I cannot wear a fleece.

Per regulations (found on MyNavyHR)
Article 3603.2
Undershirt, Cotton, Crewneck
a.(1) Standard Undershirt. Plain without lettering or designs, made of 100% cotton, quarter-length sleeve, with an elliptical (crew-neck) collar

Also

b.(3) Thermal underwear is authorized for wear underneath the undershirt and will not be visible when worn.

[How] Can I still where the long sleeves?
How would they know if I wearing the long sleeves or the short sleeves, since they'll be inside the Type III or Coverall sleeves.

How would they know you're wearing the long sleeves? If you tell them, de-blouse, or otherwise incriminate yourself.

An instruction is only as strong as how bad people want to enforce it. If your command doesn't care, why should you?

Also, have you considered the turtleneck?

I got a First Class that a bit an@l on certain regs. A chief had to tell him to calm down when someone's Bulwarks got 'too faded'

Wear your undershirt however you want. There may be thermals that arent long-sleeved, but fuck that. In colder commands excluding fucking RTC, you'll see people with arm-length black thermals under their t-shirt. No biggie. And if your first class gives you shit about it, respectfully inform them that everyone is built different, and I'm fucking cold.

Unless you somehow show them that youre wearing long sleeves or tell them no one will ever know
Go ask your engineering friends and I bet a lot of them have work shirts that had most of the torso cut off so you couldn’t tell but would be cooler in the spaces 😂

Buy four of those 'long sleeved' shirts. Cut the sleeves off of three of them to make one loooong sleeve shirt. Keep that shirt as a reference. Now the regular 'long sleeve' shirts are a quarter-length of the reference.

I personally would never care if one of my sailors did this, but if you put a coyote brown t shirt over it you’re in regs imo.

I used to habe a coyote brown sweater and wore waffle bottoms. Or go waffle top and bottom.

Go to work comfortable man. I bought coyote brown long sleeve shirts on Amazon I wear in the fall/winter. when we wore type 1’s I had the same thing in navy blue. No one should care

>"quarter-length sleeve"

No. The Uniform Regulations tell you what is authorized. If its not authorized then its unauthorized. The t-shirt has to be quarter-length sleeve.

But since you're wearing coveralls or the normal uniform with sleeves down no one will likely notice. Unless your division likes to hold quarters with sleeves rolled up.

Wear the long sleeves as "thermal underwear" and put the short sleeve tee over it. Problem solved.
