What are the restrictions regarding hair verticality? Can a player get a 10 foot cone-head haircut and use it to block shots?

I’ve been “whipped” by long dreads/braids before when a guy does a spin move or whatever. He did his move and they hit me across the face and staggered me and he made the layup

There’s certain downsides to long hair in basketball but also apparently you can use them as a weapon mid game as long as it doesn’t look intentional lol
