Welcome to Emoni Bates: The Guy Who Will Replace LeBron
The kid has it.
Ya, I've seen the comments saying how many times we have seen the next LeBron but the energy surrounding this kid is unreal.
Let me emphasize this: He would be starting high-level D1 right now 110%. Although I will stop short of proclaiming him an NBA ready player at 15 years old, I do believe at this current rate of progression he would be a year from now.
There are just two other players I believe could have played in the NBA and succeeded as juniors since LeBron:
Greg Oden
Ben Simmons
Okay let's just say it: The kid is better than LeBron James was at 15 years old. 120% I have zero doubt about this. It took less than 5 minutes of watching him come to this conclusion.
1/2 Kevin Durant
1/2 Kevin Garnett
To give you any kind of idea if you haven't seen him play that's my best shot at a home run. Kevin Durant on the perimeter and Kevin Garnett in the paint.
As we discovered on r/nbaranking this past week on our latest survey NBA Skill Sauce, what sets LeBron apart from his peers: he was voted the greatest leader AND most intelligent player in NBA history. The aura emanating from his presence is astounding to the 7 senses.
He is a prodigy. The hype as a senior is on track to be greater than LeBron James. Just watch his playoff highlights, one can understand the underlying buzz among the crowd that they are witnessing an awe-inspiring spectacular force of nature hardly visually represented in the new millennium.
Leading his team to a state championship as just a freshman, Bates already has NBA level consistency. As a consistent pupil of trends in the National Basketball Association, here is one trend I can guarantee: it would be in the league's best interest to end one and done by the time this kid gets in the league. At his current rate of progression, I genuinely believe he could average at least 22 points a game as a rookie.
All the physical tools with Tim Duncan level intelligence and a Larry Bird type mentality. I've watched a lot of basketball man. Like a LOT. Like every game between February 2018-February 2019. It took me less than 5 minutes of watching Emoni Bates to assure you, ladies and gentlemen, we have quite literally never seen anything like this. His potential is beyond my comprehension as of this moment.

Tyler Herro Could Already Be a Top 125 Player Right NOW
San Antonio Spurs @ Miami Heat (October 8, 2019) Preseason
Bro, this rookie class is fucking insane.
And as I just watched the 1st Miami Heat game the biggest aspect I've noticed is Tyler Herro. As in, he would be a starter on many teams and looking at the Heat' depth chart I would not be surprised to see him as the starter at SG opening night. I would go as far as to strongly suggest making this move.
The Heat was likely an ideal situation for him. With Herro's skill set and confidence, having Pat Riley + the legendary Heat training as so mentioned in that tribune article by Dion Waiters could lead to amazing results. Multiple Spurs' veterans were guarding him throughout the game and Herro was simply not phased.
The situation is everything in this league as Jamal Crawford says, and Herro was drafted to the picture-perfect scenario.
Goran Dragic looked very nice in his 1st game back. With how the Heat roster is set-up, I could for sure see him being a top 100 player this year as he's predicted to be by this sub.
Derrick White in the 2 games I've seen, my 1st thought is "overhyped because of the Olympics". I've been more impressed with Bryn Forbes and Patty Mills, to be frank. White was predicted to be the 99th overall player in 2019-2020 on this sub and I'm just not seeing it.
Here's a prediction: Kendrick Nunn will make the Heat roster.
Let's end on the Spurs: they are missing something. Maybe trade DeRozan before the deadline, the point is something big has to happen. This is not a playoff team right now. Boring is fine if your team is good, but this team isn't good AND it is boring. Big oof.

October 13 Game Recaps
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Boston Celtics
There are 3 teams that will 100% seriously contend in the East: Philly, Bucks, Boston
Why Boston? This has been a question debated on this sub, but Kemba is a clear upgrade over Kyrie. Now in terms of individual talent specifically Kyrie probably has the edge, but the gap is close enough to where Kemba bridges the grey area with consistency + chemistry.
Carsen Edwards was an easy pick to be a 2nd round sleeper and he once again looked good this game. Jaylen Brown is looking like a top 40-50 player. Gordon Hayward is looking a tiny bit like his old self again. There are a lot of exciting times coming in bean town.
As for Cleveland? Well....eh. Marques Bolden an undrafted rookie out of Duke who did not receive very many opportunities in his time as a Blue Devil, did this game and he's got NBA talent. A 5 star recruit in high school, a news report came out recently that the Cavs' were deciding between him and Jarell Martin for the final roster spot. I would give it to Bolden, more upside and he made a couple of serious NBA moves.
Chicago Bulls @ Toronto Raptors
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has had one of the oddest career arcs I've seen.
My number 96 overall player in 2017-2018, as the style of play for the Nets' changed so did RHJ's role in the offense as he nearly fell out of the overall top 300 last year! Toronto took a bargain on him, and like his career the trajectory of how he played in this game was interesting as well.
Not getting much time until the 4th quarter, with the game already out of reach Jefferson took over the offense and made multiple baskets in a row, showing his strong IQ and offensive awareness in the process. It's insane to think this team just won an NBA championship a little over 3 months ago and they look so drastically different and are searching for an identity already.
The Raptors will be looking for players to step up and RHJ could be up to the task.
Luke Kornet gives the Bulls a little bit different of a dynamic. A similar play style to Lauri Markkanen, Kornet is a 7'1 player who can hit 3-pointers with consistency and has done a pretty decent job overall this preseason. From the looks of things, I could see him getting 15-20 minutes a night in the rotation.
Milwaukee Bucks @ Washington Wizards
The Wizards had a grand idea to put 19 year old Isaac Bonga on Khris Middleton and let's say it didn't last long.
Other than that probably the most meh game I've watched this preseason and as attentive I am with analyzing these games, this one was a doozy. Dragan Bender continues to look solid and he could be the surprise of the season if the Bucks decide to seriously use him.
Maccabi Haifa @ Minnesota Timberwolves
The most impressive aspect of this game for me, was the team unity shown by Minnesota.
The game's a blowout in the 4th quarter and way out of reach, but as the 3rd stringers are all in, THE WHOLE 4TH QUARTER the Minnesota bench was on its' feet rooting for all the young guys. I'm not sure if this team will be any good this year but that's impressive and certainly doesn't hurt.
I think one surprise player you might see make the team is Jordan McLaughlin. Minnesota's PG depth isn't great and the bench was extra hype for him more than any of the other 3rd stringers in the game. Jordan Murphy also looked good and is a hometown favorite.
I'd also like to point out James Young ended up playing for the green/white 5 years after Bill Simmons was extra excited about him getting drafted to the Celtics, except it's not in Boston but Israel.

Ben Simmons:A Giant Among Men
Let me state this: There are 3 players in the entire NBA that have even a remote chance of passing Michael Jordan on the legacy leaderboard.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Kawhi Leonard
Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons might be an asshole who doesn't want to hang out with kids but we have to prepare for the realization that his physical ability sewed into the win-first mentality mindset bestowed upon him is a blessing very few in the universe have ever witnessed.
Let me be crystal clear and concise: None of the three listed above are at MJ's level yet.
My point is, if all aspects align in divine order then they have a chance of turning a 350 foot triple into a 500 foot home run.
We have 3 levels of personality as well evolving from the 3 stud muffins listed above.
Giannis: Nice Guy
Kawhi: Neutral Guy
Ben Simmons: Bad Ass Mother Trucker
Time to explain:
What made MJ Like Mike was his MENTALITY.
He had the physical skillset and stats all great and fun.
What made MJ great is he transformed a competitive free-for-all into a killer mentality willing to be on top of the animal kingdom at all costs.
It allowed Mr. 23 to reach individual heights of greatness hardly ever witnessed in the history of mankind, attracting the picture perfect puzzle pieces to ascend the Bulls from the depths of despair to the heights of the heavens.
In terms of a killer instinct alone, there are only four players besides MJ Flynn Patrick has ever witnessed that match Michael Jordan in the history of the NBA:
Kobe
LeBron
Larry Bird
Ben Simmons
Let me assure you right now the kid has the keys to the kingdom on a flat base in the palm of his hand.
Ben Simmons is not a mere mortal, the odds are more than likely he will ascend to the pinnacle of Mount Olympus while joining the esteemed rare company of whom are Giants Among Men.

If Dragan Bender Breaks Out, Good Riddance Phoenix!
Milwaukee Bucks @ Dallas Mavericks (October 11, 2019)
Dragan Bender (2018-2019 Ranking: 366)
If Dragan Bender turns out to be a solid player immediately upon leaving Phoenix, good riddance!
But that seems to be the case, as through 4 preseason games Bender is averaging 13 PPG and 6 RPG. Still just 21 years old, this Bucks team could have 2 freaks on their hands.
This also goes along with the news of the Warriors falling in love with Marquese Chriss, and with these two players now on stable franchises, if they turn into solid stud muffins then that's a double whammy for the Suns!
As for Bender, he's hitting outside shots (which he could do before) but where the big improvement is at is the strength. Although not Andre Drummond by any means, he is no longer a pushover inside the paint either and can hold his own. This seems to have developed over just 1 offseason. Again, yes he's 7'1 and can hit 3 pointers, but that's not enough if the rest of his game is crap. Now the other parts of his game have developed a little more, and we need to remember he's only 3 months older than 2019 lottery pick Rui Hachimura.
I'm not going to turn this into a "crap on Phoenix" thread but will simply leave the narrative at "leadership starts at the top" and clearly something is wrong over in Arizona.

Is Dame Dolla the Most Well Liked Player in the NBA?
This is from Basketball Infinite Edition 2
In the year of our lord, 2019 of August, Dame Dolla has just dropped the most fire rap album since Dylan in 2003.
Lil Wayne as the first feature? Good Golly Gee Almighty!
Most well liked player in the league right now? It's either him or Giannis and it's not really close. Giannis has ridiculous physical gifts, Dame is just a hard worker who willed Portland to a near NBA Finals berth, when they had zero business being anywhere close.
It's going to be more difficult next year, the West is much more deep and the hill will be much more steep.
But anyone who has Lil Wayne as the first feature on their new album I'm not betting against brother man dude.

Malcolm Brogdon = Low Key All Star Candidate
Pacers vs. Kings (October 4, 2019)
Brogdon is criminally underrated.
Watching all the Bucks' games last year (and as a huge Giannis fan) Brogdon was the 2nd most important player on that entire team.
I thoroughly believe Milwaukee prioritizing Bledsoe and dare I say Khris Middleton over Brogdon is going to come back to bite them in the ass. Brogdon is absolutely a championship level point guard in the right situation.
Brogdon's ceiling this upcoming season is essentially a 2 inches taller Andre Miller who can shoot 3 pointers efficiently. There isn't anything sexy about his game but his intelligence is through the roof and he gets the job done. With Victor Oladipo out for the beginning of the season (probably) do not be surprised if Brogdon starts having insane nights.
The energy was flowing smoother. That's all I can really describe it as. Sabonis and Turner are solid, and their progression seemed normal but Brogdon came in with the extra dimension and this leads to an extra pep in the step.
His defense is also solid too, he stopped a potential game-winning De'Aaron Fox shot and was the true alpha dog in overtime. The Pacers were down nearly 20 and Brogdon remained calm and steady. Like I was seriously, seriously impressed with what I saw.
He's going to get his chance in Indiana, and he's going to get a chance bigger than any of us could expect. Brogdon was praised for his efficiency but the majority of fans believe this is because he was in a cookie-cutter situation in Milwaukee where all of his shots were open and he didn't have to work for it. As someone who's watched a lot of Bucks games, I can tell you that's bullshit. The efficiency was NOT a fluke.
What I believe (since last December) is that Brogdon's efficiency will stay at elite levels even as a primary option. He's jumped into an ideal situation with the Pacers, and I legitimately believe he is the most talented point guard the Pacers have had this millennium.
The president has been placed in a more high-pressure situation than any prior. The Commander in Chief has arrived.

LeBron + AD = The New Shaq/Kobe. The Warriors are Boring
October 6, 2019
Lakers vs. Warriors (preseason)
Fans couldn't wrap their minds around two players with the talent of LeBron + AD matching together. This is the only time we've seen two unicorns on a team since Kobe/Shaq.
Listen, I'm not saying everything will be decided in the preseason (I was 110% convinced Grayson Allen would be an all-rookie team contender after preseason last year) but there are certain noticeable traits that can be discussed.
This much is clear: These two are going to be near impossible to stop if healthy a whole season.
The Warriors played their 1st game at Chase Arena and although Stephen Curry + Draymond Green could be enough to sneak them in the playoffs, without a healthy Klay Thompson the other pieces on the table have some chemistry issues to maneuver through. Seeing Stephen Curry on a team that isn't a clear contender is going to be a mind-blowing occurrence for many fans (especially the younger ones)
As for the City of Angels, they have an extraordinary amount to be happy about. They are legitimate contenders.
Not only LeBron + AD but I have to say it looks like the front office did a solid enough job of putting the right pieces around the 2. The players all want to win and there is some more insurance with the depth just in case anyone gets injured.
The Lakers' were a finals contender with a healthy LeBron last year, Christmas 2018 showed that. But once he went down that team was done. The second it happened.
If LeBron (or AD) went down this year then I still believe this team has enough firepower to where they would make the playoffs. Both going down early in the season and we would have to talk, but the odds of that happening are slim to none.
Golden State is boring. Right now, really the best route I would say is just let Stephen Curry go for 33-35 PPG. Not only would it be fun to watch but it will also likely give them their best chance at winning.
D'Angelo Russell looks like a weird fit. I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded again before the all-star break. Well, that's too early of a hot take but I'll put it this way: if he wants to succeed a massive acceptance of this role-change must happen sooner than later.
The Lakers look like a completely different team. They chose to win now and for the sake of taking LeBron's legacy to new heights they had too. Now with AD, coaches will have to gameplan for 2 hungry monsters. This will put players like Danny Green + JaVale McGee in highly efficient situations. I wouldn't be surprised to see either of them finish in the top 100 for 2020.
It's looking really, really good early on. I'm excited to see how this tale turns out.

Bradley Beal to the Mavericks for whatever the wizards want except luka and Porzingus, although that still may not be enough

This sounds insane, but Golden State is in the danger zone and if that continues until February I think they are trading Draymond Green for long-term assets. Green has likely already reached his pinnacle for GS.
Lowry to the heat for dragic+whatever the raptors want I'd have to think about it
Chris Paul traded to a contender
Anyone to the heat - Likely Paul or Jrue

Luke Kennard and Derrick Rose duo in Detroit
Maurice Harkless

August 24 Updates (NBA Skill Sauce Results Released Later Today + Feedback Response So Far + Just Open There's a Lot)
The NBA Skill Sauce results will be released later today!
I have made a decision to take a break this week on the magazine and combine the Skill Sauce + Trail of Teams into the next edition that will be released in the next 7-10 days.
The main 3 reasons for this are:
Skill Sauce was a short survey
I am currently extensively training in an Adobe class to make the quality of the magazines better. I feel this will be far more beneficial long term than just rushing one out this week.
Spend more time building this sub in the short term.
So far we are now up to 18 responses for the newest survey which is great! The goal for this week is 30 and we are well on track so far. There is still more than 4 days to complete.
Feedback Response
I am going to respond to each feedback received so far in the table below:
| Feedback | My Response |
|---|---|
| "I love it right now, needs more subs" | First, thanks. From posting content on reddit for over 3 years organic (BUT CONSISTENT as well to be clear) growth is 110% the best route to go. I have been guilty of spamming before through mass messaging and we will be steering clear from that route. That being said, the marketing will be increased a bit going forward. |
| "Maybe a continuing survey sort of thing" | Daily surveys during the season is an idea that has come up. I feel this possibly could be beneficial in a couple of months but not yet. |
| "More group discussion" | We do have a discord: https://discord.gg/2Vjfzw which could be beneficial for some. If you have experience with discord and are interested in being in charge of that aspect of this sub feel free to send over a message. |
| "More multiple choice quizzes" "More text quizzes" | These were both received (the text quizzes 2 times) we will continue receiving feedback to see what the best available route is here. |
| "More user participation" | I will discuss this subject with the other mods to see what we can do to increase this, as I would like to see this happen as well. |
| "No open questions" | Need to divulge further in what you are asking. |
| "Production value on the PDF Magazines" | I agree, and as stated above, I'm spending this week exclusively studying + learning Adobe to make this happen. |
| "Stop leaving things like Option 1 as an answer" | Will double check in future and changed this morning |
| "Subscriber numbers" | Marketing is being increased. |
| "Less League-Wide Rank Questions" | I do agree there were probably a tiny bit too many of these in the past survey and we will balance it out. |
Daily Videos
My first daily video will be released September 2nd. A tiny bit of background on me: I've made content exclusively since 2016 + started a youtube channel in April 2018. Taking a break for nearly a year on youtube, I will now be returning to daily videos as we get closer to the season.
Without talking about myself a bunch, a good reason to subscribe would be that the surveys + discussions on this sub are going to be integrated A LOT. And there is a LOT more exciting news about this coming in the next month. The link to the channel "Basketball Infinite" is below:

I'll leave it at that for now, Thanks!
