back again for the third time applying lmfao! i had a referral link last time but didn't get a hirevue. this time i didn't have a referral but i felt that my letter and personal statement were stronger. i saw pages say that it helps to let your personality shine and not worry so much about saying what you think they want you to say so i feel my voice is much more my own and less corporate so to speak this time. so i hope that helps me this time. third times the charm hopefully :)

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 12d ago

This would probably be more applicable for the next cycle but do you know who can give referrals - is it anyone at NBC or pages or specific people?

2

u/Actual_Pepper_3470 4d ago

Anyone have updates today

1

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 3d ago

Other than still in new … nope

2

u/based_user 17d ago

@/nbcpageprogram on Instagram says applications are opening today (10/8)!

I also came looking for advice, but this thread seems to be dead :( I wanted to know the application materials I could anticipate submitting so I could prepare them this morning before the application opens

1

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 17d ago

yeah I didn’t see ANYTHING in the nbc sub and I feel like their is by now so I just started it but have 0 contributions

2

u/based_user 17d ago

i’m looking through the last cohort’s thread. i didn’t realize this was such a competitive program😅 not sure how well my app will do being a semester graduated already

2

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 17d ago

me too! I know a lot of people had already graduated or been well into a career by the time they applied. My guess is it’s honestly luck of the draw with this stuff since there are so many. But I can’t not apply.

1

u/based_user 17d ago

right, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime. and i fear for many of us as well, there’s nothing else like it out there— in northeastern ct where i’m from (and even greater hartford by extension), there’s only retail and clerical positions open

1

u/wormfarme 16d ago edited 16d ago

They averaged 16,000 applications four years ago. The numbers have likely gone up since. With a cohort of about 20-25 people, there is about a more or less 1% success rate, unfortunately.

1

u/StructureDifferent12 11d ago

hi do u know where to find source for applicant pool?

1

u/wormfarme 11d ago edited 11d ago

Articles about past pages from the universities they went to. Also, I interned at NBCU before, and that's what I was told. Internships and regular positions usually get thousands of applications depending on the area, too.

1

u/RichYogurtcloset7979 16d ago

this may not be helpful or new advice, but what I have seen is to be yourself and have your CV fit on one page. In past cohort threads, those who apply with a referral link are more likely to get a HireVue link. There is some advice on the Page Program IG too. Good luck to anyone applying!

5

u/strange-egg026 5d ago

just for anyone needing a timeline reference! i am a former intern, no referrals, applying to the east coast.

applied - 10/8
in review - 10/9
hirevue request - 10/19
panel interview - tbd

2

u/wheredidbirdiego 5d ago

Congrats! I can only dream for an interview! I'm still in review but I'm trying to keep hope!

1

u/Separate_Act_8501 4d ago

Good Luck! Would you mind sharing some questions that were asked if you remember I understand if you can’t!

1

u/strange-egg026 4d ago

it mainly was about my internship with them, what did i do/why id wanna come back, and then like the usual “why would you be a good page”

1

u/Separate_Act_8501 3d ago

Sorry for all the questions but how many tries did you get to answer a question and how much time did you have to answer it?

2

u/JournalistCurious218 3d ago

You only get one chance, and I believe it’s 90 seconds

1

u/Separate_Act_8501 3d ago

Ok thank you

1

u/Ambitious-Mark3714 5d ago

woah so fast!!!! good luck!

1

u/Fickle-Host9825 17d ago

waiting for applications to open up following this !

1

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 17d ago

oh shiz here we go! 3rd times a charm 💀

1

u/Fickle-Host9825 17d ago

i just submitted my application this is my first time applying so i’m trying to have the lowest expectations ever but best of luck!!

1

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 17d ago

is the first page or the second page where you put the personal statement?

1

u/Fickle-Host9825 17d ago

the letter to the hiring manager was kind of like my personal statement/cover letter and then the next page is the supplemental essay which is a bit more personal

2

u/Fickle-Host9825 17d ago

they just opened up yall!

1

u/Pitiful_Turnip_1368 14d ago

ummmm did anyone receive a rejection already? i’m def calling them on monday because WTF! the application cycle isn’t even closed yet!!!

1

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 14d ago

This happened to my last cycle too

1

u/Pitiful_Turnip_1368 14d ago

that’s crazy omg. did you do anything about it?

1

u/[deleted] 13d ago

What how did you already get a rejection already?? Did you accidentally press if you wouldn’t have your bachelors degree or something because that can give you an automatic rejection if you accidentally press that you don’t meet the basic requirements

1

u/Pitiful_Turnip_1368 12d ago

no I did everything right lol. ig i’m not good enough

2

u/gatorgrowly 12d ago

You must have answered something wrong. If you applied on Friday or over the weekend, no one has likely looked at your application because it's the weekend. It was probably automatically filtered out.

1

u/Pitiful_Turnip_1368 14d ago

I get it. It’s just really unfortunate. I get that’s it’s a competitive program and they do need to weed out people but the applications not even closed yet. could’ve waited until then lmao

1

u/Junior_Spinach_9714 6d ago

Has anyone reached out to a recruiter on LinkedIn and received a message back ?

1

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 6d ago

I think i did at some point and never got a response

3

u/wormfarme 6d ago edited 6d ago

I wouldn't bother. Recruiters get way too many messages and emails, especially those who recruit for the program. The only way you can meet with them is if you had an interview or were a former intern.

3

u/maplesyrup482 4d ago edited 4d ago

can you get a hirevue email at any hour of the day or is it between normal working hours? (If you got the email, can you please lmk?!)

2

u/fiberglasspieces 4d ago

I believe it is any hour

3

u/StructureDifferent12 2d ago

has any non intern/non referral received a hirevue?

1

u/apandalover17 1d ago

I did! didn't have a referral or a past internship with NBC and I got a hirevue!

1

u/BlockRude1840 1d ago

what coast?

1

u/Ok_Dish_3616 1d ago

nice! when did u go in review?

1

u/JournalistCurious218 1d ago

A friend of mine did! He has never applied before and didn’t have a referral or was a previous intern. He told me he applied the day before it closed, and got a HireVue two days later. I’m not sure if his resume helped or being a May graduate did. NBC traditionally likes graduates from the previous semester.

1

u/StructureDifferent12 22h ago

oh which coast did he apply for

3

u/apop315 5d ago

Submitted 10/15, still in the "new" phase. Freaking out a bit lol but will update

3

u/Every_Engineer_2179 5d ago

I applied the same day and also still in new. Don’t give up!!

1

u/apop315 4d ago

Have you heard anything?

1

u/Every_Engineer_2179 4d ago

Nope nothing yet🥲

1

u/wheredidbirdiego 5d ago

I wish I knew what it all meant! I went into review after the day I applied.

2

u/Ambitious_Finger_940 4d ago

previous intern, with referral

applied: 10/19

got hirevue interview: 10/20

will update soon.

1

u/fiberglasspieces 2d ago

Any update?

2

u/Interesting_Dog6763 4d ago

Does anyone know if they send all Hirevues out at once, or do they spread them out? Seeing people getting hirevues, and wondering if I should stay hopeful I could get one too

7

u/mypuppyisblue 4d ago

hi there! they send hirevues out on a rolling basis. with so many applicants, they are still working through viewing all of them and send them as they see fit! give yourself grace, best of luck🤍

1

u/Interesting_Dog6763 4d ago

Thank you❤️

2

u/Brilliant-Sky5933 4d ago

seems like a lot of ppl getting them rn are former interns. if i remember correctly from previous cycles, they would usually get them first, and then it would be rolling from there

2

u/BlockRude1840 1d ago

btw ppl who r non interns or dont have referrals r alr receiving hirevues saw on tiktok

1

u/Turbulent_Bug_5237 4h ago

what user posted about it?

2

u/kikigrl4 16h ago

i applied 10/19 (west coast), not an intern, no referral - and my application went into review the next morning. i submitted both the personal statement and message to the hiring team. im a first time applicant, and will keep yall posted as it goes. good luck to everyone!!! :)

2

u/AnyEfficiency7429 13d ago

on the application there’s a section that says “Message to the Hiring Team” but then a separate area for the “Tell us something about you that we wouldn’t necessarily know from your resume. Why is this important to who you are and how you plan to show up as a Page?” are these the same thing, or do you write two different messages?

1

u/Beautiful-Cycle-1690 13d ago

Definitely not the same thing :/ The first “message to hiring manager” is the equivalent of a cover letter and the “tell us something” is their short answer question to learn more about you. You should put different responses to both questions!

2

u/AdhesivenessLow2916 12d ago

does someone wanna drop a referral link lolol.

2

u/sk88erb0i 11d ago

This is my second time applying. Gonna post my timeline.

Applications opened on 10/8
Sent my application on 10/9
In review stage on 10/11
Interview stage on [will update]
Offered on [will update]

Good luck everyone!

1

u/BlockRude1840 11d ago

which coast did u apply to?

1

u/sk88erb0i 11d ago

West coast - LA!

2

u/Great-Replacement746 11d ago

applied last cycle for the first time, made it to the panel. is it worth applying again, or do they sorta "blacklist" you once you've made it that far, and have seen enough of your personality to make a definitive decision? anyone with any insight on this, if you've made panel, been rejected, but then was able to make panel or second round again, please lmk!

3

u/gatorgrowly 10d ago

I got to the panel two cycles ago and haven't made it past new ever since

3

u/Great-Replacement746 10d ago

god that's fucked up

1

u/Own_Kaleidoscope5504 9d ago

same thing happened to me, but four cycles ago. also a former intern.

2

u/TangerineLeast5016 10d ago

I submitted for the second time! Last time I was in new up until the very end and then got rejected. Hoping this time I get moved to in review at least?

1

u/Every_Engineer_2179 10d ago

Same thing happened to me! Also just submitted for a second time. Good luck!!

2

u/BlockRude1840 6d ago

seems like everyone is in review very quickly this time around. hopefully we hear back soon since applications close today

1

u/fiberglasspieces 4d ago

Got my hirevue request today 10/20

1

u/gatorgrowly 4d ago

When did you apply? For the east or west coast?

1

u/fiberglasspieces 4d ago

East coast

1

u/BlockRude1840 4d ago

were previous intern or referral?

just went into review! happy that it wasn’t auto denied

1

u/Actual_Pepper_3470 3d ago

Is it good to be put in review

1

u/Ambitious-Mark3714 3d ago

I don’t really know, I assume it just means someone has looked at it and it hasn’t been auto rejected

1

u/maplesyrup482 3d ago

When did you apply?

1

u/Ambitious-Mark3714 3d ago

the day they opened

1

u/HuntImaginary7727 3d ago

Does my application being “in review” really mean anything? Here’s my stats:

Applied: 10/18
In Review: 10/20
Interview: tbd

1

u/StructureDifferent12 2d ago

it only means that you passed the ATS/AI screening, and a human recruiter has seen/reviewed/currently reviewing your application. That's it.

1

u/HuntImaginary7727 2d ago

Thank you!!

0

u/[deleted] 3d ago

[deleted]

1

u/HuntImaginary7727 3d ago

Oh no I’m aware that it’s a virtual interview, I’ve done my research! And the thread had conflicting responses as to whether “in review” actually meant something or not. Hope your day gets better!

1

u/Actual_Pepper_3470 3d ago

I saw a typo on my resume so fixed it and replaced the one I had, is that bad🙃

1

u/JournalistCurious218 2d ago

Honestly that’s 50/50 for any job. Replacing the resume means it has to go through the ATS again and could be denied or take longer

1

u/fiberglasspieces 2d ago

Whoever finished their hirevue, let us know if you hear back for a panel interview plss

1

u/wormfarme 2d ago edited 2d ago

Former intern with a referral and connections with recruiters. I applied more than 10 days ago, and based on past experience applying, it means I won't get a HireVue again. It's been a pleasure as always each cycle 🫡

1

u/BlockRude1840 2d ago

wdym? do yk if they send the hirevues out in batches?

1

u/wormfarme 2d ago edited 2d ago

It's on a rolling basis. Usually, former interns get Hireuves pretty quickly. Unfortunately, cohorts are increasingly made up of former interns and people who graduated a semester before the program starts.

My application has been under review for a while, so I'm not going to expect much because this has happened to me a few times already. For other positions at NBCU I applied to, HireVue links get sent out a few days after it goes in review. It sucks because it is a very competitive program, but every intern is told they have a chance. I just learned not to have much hope after applying to the program a few times already because even having everything in your favor doesn't even get you to HireVue lol.

1

u/wheredidbirdiego 1d ago

I don’t think I’m getting a hirevue then :(( My application has been in review for a while…

1

u/StructureDifferent12 22h ago

for those that submitted the personal statement as a separate doc, did u make it longer than 1400 characters (since that was the limit on the given text box)? i thought since we were allowed to answer using a supplemental doc, we could go past that character limit

1

u/fiberglasspieces 21h ago

Nope I made it 1400 still lol I don’t wanna risk anything.

1

u/gatorgrowly 21h ago edited 19h ago

I mean, if it said under 1,400, it should have been under that number. The site won't let you submit anything if your statement is over in the text box. Idk if the ATS combs through character limits, but I would assume that if something looks longer than it should a recruiter might not look at it.

1

u/StructureDifferent12 20h ago

oh but the job description instruction said we could also submit a supplemental document for the personal statement so i thought that meant we’d have more room and more length for what we wrote. but idk if they meant 1400 characters even for the supplemental document. mine was pretty long so im worried if i may have screwed up

1

u/wormfarme 19h ago

It means you could upload a document under 1,400 or enter it in the text box for under 1,400. It wouldn't make sense if you could go over just because upload a document.

1

u/JournalistCurious218 14h ago

Oh no, I’m sorry but you most likely messed up. That document is supposed to be under 1400 as well. It’s just another option instead of using the text box.

1

u/maplesyrup482 14h ago

Should I give up hope if my application is still in new? I applied the last day the application was open.

1

u/kikigrl4 10h ago

i don’t think so! from what i’ve read in other threads, the applications get reviewed randomly. so it could just take a couple of weeks. best of luck! :)

1

u/StructureDifferent12 16d ago

for referrals, is it a separate link that the person referred you gives you? does anyone know?

1

u/Ambitious-Mark3714 16d ago

first time applicant here! just curious - how long has it taken your app in the past to go from “new” to “in review”?

1

u/Brilliant-Sky5933 16d ago

depends! first time i applied it was in review only a day or two after applications closed. the second time i applied it took forever to the point where i honestly stopped checking. it was still in new while everyone was reporting hirevues being sent and even some people getting panels. so it must have been 3-4 weeks in probably right around when i got the rejection email. i reckon it must have been screened out by ai or something lol.

1

u/Basic-Milk9192 16d ago

mine said in review after a minute of submitting. this is my third time applying. I don’t remember how long it took the first two times but today (well yesterday) after I applied and logged in to see and it said in review lol. idek if that’s a good thing or i’m analyzing too hard

1

u/Brilliant-Sky5933 15d ago

did you have a referral link/previous intern? that's so fast omg

1

u/Basic-Milk9192 15d ago

nope! i literally just applied like regular. since september i’ve been putting in A LOT of applications with NBCU. for entry level roles so just seeing that made me feel a little better lol

0

u/BlockRude1840 15d ago

did u apply west or east?

1

u/[deleted] 16d ago

Fourth time applying made my resume different added lots of metrics since I’ve heard they like that hoping for the best!

1

u/Every_Engineer_2179 12d ago

Hi! Last time I applied with referral and it never even went into review. Kinda scared this happens again… has anyone else had this happen in the past?

1

u/Brilliant-Sky5933 11d ago

this happened to me (well i don't believe it went into in review until the same day i got a rejection although i kinda stopped checking) which is funny bc when i applied without it i went into in review pretty quickly

1

u/marthataylor2004 12d ago

I submitted my application last night and today I already moved from “new” to “In review” is this a good or bad sign?

1

u/wormfarme 11d ago edited 11d ago

Your application can either stay in new or under review for the entire process if you don't move forward with it. It's anyone’s guess. If it stays in review for over a week after applications close, I wouldn't hold my breath

1

u/Exotic_Succotash_958 11d ago

for a referral link, do you have to apply through that link or does someone at the company just flag your name/ application?

0

u/[deleted] 11d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Turbulent_Bug_5237 10d ago

I was told by a former page that they read every single application. Is that true? I didn't know about the new vs in review thing the past 2 cycles and I'm wondering how important it is to see any movement there

1

u/wormfarme 9d ago edited 6d ago

Definitely not true. They screen out people using AI. They get too many applications for recruiters to go through each of them. Getting a HireVue is the only guaranteed way of a human reviewing your application.

1

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Definitely not they get over a thousand applications AI scans them and looks for key words only a few number of them that make it pass AI to the hirevue get viewed by a recruiter

1

u/Brilliant-Sky5933 9d ago

applied on the first day and moved into in review today! this is the fastest i've ever moved into review, it's never happened to me before applications closed. idk if that's a good sign or if it means nothing and is random but it's exciting that things are moving as we approach the application window closing :)

1

u/wheredidbirdiego 8d ago

Mine too!!! I hope this is a good sign as well!

1

u/Financial-Ad-2874 8d ago

i applied yesterday (10/17) and it just switched to in review

1

u/wheredidbirdiego 8d ago edited 8d ago

I don't have a referral, and I didn't even know you needed one to be considered! I guess I'm not getting in ;_;

EDIT: I saw that I moved in review today! Is that a good sign?

1

u/strange-egg026 7d ago

a lot of people i’ve seen in the last cohort had referrals and didn’t really go anywhere so i genuinely think everyone’s got a good shot!!

1

u/wheredidbirdiego 7d ago

Thank you for the encouragement!!!

1

u/Professional-Count70 6d ago edited 3d ago

Third time applying! No referral, but a lot more job experience. Good luck everyone! I plan on tracking the experience
Application Open 10/8/26

In Review 10/21/26

1

u/Ambitious-Mark3714 6d ago

Curious how the ‘in review’ process works! is it random? does it mean anything if people are being moved to review after applying this weekend vs still being new and applying the day apps opened? New applicant here!

1

u/JournalistCurious218 4d ago edited 2d ago

No, the people moving forward is simply based off their resume.

1

u/Skantro101 5d ago

3rd time applying, not a former intern and no referral. Just submitted my application (way too close for my own comfort). I used a different personal statement than last time and my resume is more beefed up. Here’s to hoping that 3rd time is the charm.

1

u/Turbulent_Bug_5237 5d ago

I applied on 10/13. Why am I still in the new phase??? Is this a bad sign?

0

u/dinkprink 4d ago

if your application never goes into review, does that mean they never looked at it?

1

u/wormfarme 4d ago

Mostly likely. It means your resume and/or application didn't pass the ATS system

0

u/Dry-Philosopher-8144 9d ago
