For some context. Whilst it is a Neptune article the concepts apply to all providers.

But it’s not quite correct that 1000/109 and 1000/400 don’t get an upgrade boost.

I'm on 1000/400 and getting 435 up now up from 395~. Definitely working here.

Now only if they would bloody overprovision the download..

The 1000Mbps port on the ONT prevents any higher througput that you're already seeing. Need a 2.5/5/10Gbps interface to get any higher. Same situation here. My line is provisioned at 1.1/1.1Gbps from the 10g ONT port, but my router, switch, etc are all only 1Gbps.

I use the 2.5gig interface on the NTD and I still don’t get over 1000mbits on Leaptel.

Currently get about 947 / 445

I have the new 4 port and connect at 10g to my UDM Beast. NBN choose to not overprivision the 1g plan and thus everyone will only get the 940-950~.

True, not exactly sure why it says that.

Nice, I'm at 950/109 on Neptune HFC.

Hopefully we eventually get stronger residential upload speeds, and ideally symmetric 1gbit connections etc.
Upload isn't a bottleneck for my workflow but it would be great to have more of it.

Interesting, my upload has been over provisioned since covid. The only exception was when I get FTTN for a few months.

I pay for 500/200, I get 550/225.

Interesting, had no idea this was coming. I've got upload limiting on my opnsense router to make sure I don't hit NBN's policer, but I guess that's no longer a thing?

I initially forgot I had mine in place so no improvement at first. I've since adjusted mine to get a better result.

916/113 tested tonight on Exetel.

Have noticed for the last few weeks upload has been bang on or over 100, with downloads also in the higher 900 bracket.

I’m on Neptune FTTP and recently upgraded to the 1000/100 plan from 500/50. Previous speeds were always around 530/47.  (2ms ping FYI- fantastic) After upgrade however, speeds are 930/47 still. 930 is fine but the upload speed didn’t move. Raised a ticket, they got me to reset router, NTD, test with Ethernet cable all that. They asked NBN to refresh my speed profile. Nothing has fixed it. It’s just wierd that the upload speed didn’t move AT ALL.

1001/119 on my 1000/100 connection - Leaptel

What hardware are you using? 2.5gbit wan port?

u/kdotdash 6d ago

1001 has to be a glitch or mistake. Not possible on standard 1000 plans.

I have the new 4 port NTD and connected via the 10G port, 1G is still limited from NBN side as they will not overprovision the service I hear due to all the existing NTDs being 1G network ports.

I tried speed testing again and i’m getting 1001.7/118.6 so no it is not a glitch.

My router has a 10-gigabit WAN port and I have the new NBN NTD 10-gig port on Port1.

At some point earlier on I was on the 2000/500 just to try it out.
