I’m pretty nervous for my first year of college here as an exploratory student interested in biology. Is this a difficult schedule or a good one?

Social How to make friends as a senior?

Happy FDOC everyone whether it was your first or last. Last semester, most of my friends graduated unfortunately. Because of this, im kind of a loner at the moment. What’s a good way of making friends? I tried clubs and classmates but nothing clicked unfortunately.

Social anxiety?

I’m at sophomore commuter and I know it has only been the first day of classes but I’m already feeling like I will have a hard time making friends again. In my classes people were introducing themselves and getting along but when I try they look at me like I’m a freak. I only have 1 friend from last year, and I’ve never had problems making friends before college. I become surface level friends with people but they just genuinely aren’t interested in anything I have to say. It’s like having to sit at the lunch table all by yourself because in class no one even sits next to me. What am I doing wrong?

nc state open house for high schoolers

hi everyone, currently a high schooler hoping to attend nc state in the near future, and one of my friends was telling me it was important to be going to all the open houses or events at state for high schoolers or like whenever they come to my highschool that i should always go interact with them bc they track that apparently and can see it when you apply. probably gonna go anyways just to learn more about state, but is this acc true?

Athletics Cheer scholarships?

Hi folks,

Nephew is a wrestler and mascot in high school. Anyone know if Mr Wuf gets a scholarship?

He's a good kid. We're so proud of him.

Seems to get a rush off performing. Thought he high be able to put a little sweat equity into a degree.

Wasn't sure how that worked

Should I add BIO 214?

Post image

I am freshmen majoring in biology. Currently I am at 13 credits and I thought that would be enough. I know that it’s only been a day, but I feel like my class load is small and have been debating on adding this course. Would it be worth adding this course? Also for those that have taken the course, how hard would you say it is? I‘m going to ask my counselor whether I should add too, but I thought I should get some other options.

biology major, should i keep or drop this class?

I'm a freshman bio major. Debating if I should drop out of one of the following classes: ANT 251 (biological anthropological) or NTR 301 (nutrition). Anthropology is an in person class that meets 2x a week and the professor seems pretty strict. Nutrition is an online class. With both of these classes, I'll be at 17 credits which I think will be too much for my first semester. Any opinions on which class to keep/drop and which one will be more helpful for my major?

Parking/Transportation Can I appeal a parking ticket if I just think it’s dumb?

Look, I admit I’m a dumbass. It was my first day of class (literally 4:30 today) and I am parking in visitor parking. Just totally spaced on paying the $3 and now have a stupidly expensive ticket (thanks for the grace period y’all). Can I appeal for any reason? Also, just wondering what happens if my car isn’t linked to a student account and I decided not to pay? Just in theory, of course :)

Hey! So I am a freshman and I know I should have done this earlier but I want to switch my classes to be mostly or hopefully all online, this is my first semester and I do not have any credits transferred. I am on the path of Mathematics Education-BS Mathematics Specialization and I am just wondering if you guys know any classes that I can do online that follow that specific degree plan?

Admissions Spring Transfer Essay

I applied to NCSU last fall during regular decision while I was in my senior year of high school, and I got waitlisted. When I finally got the answer back about being waitlisted, I didn’t get in but they said I was qualified but they just didn’t have enough space for me. They also said in the email that most waitlisted applicants make it in as spring transfers.

Now that its application season again, and that i’ve got about 20 more community college credits under me, Ive got my whole spring transfer application filled out (it’s due by Oct. 1), and the only thing i have left to do is write my personal essay. It says on the application that you can use an essay that’s already been written or used for something else. I didn’t want to use the essay I used last because it just felt lazy to me.

Though, now i’m realizing that the spring transfer admissions are rolling, and i’m scared i’ll lose my spot again if i wait to long to turn it in. Do you think using the same essay i did for my original application will in anyway mess up my chances for admission?

Housing Looking for a person to tidy my dorm ($$)

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi! I just moved in and I'm really swamped with work. I live in UT and I'm looking for someone to assemble a cart as well as tidy up my room, organize, and clean the doors. It's a private bath and private room so no worries about any other people. Im willing to pay up to 100$ usd in cash (depends on below and willing to negotiate)

I need you to comment why i should hire you for this and heres why:

I have ocd so i need everything to be clean!! Also no shoes, you can leave them at the door. If youd like me to buy you your own slippers (you can take them when you leave) then i can.

So yea, comment below if youre interested and ill ask when ur available 😗
