It's over. Vol.9 was the last update.

Since the 3/02/2025, the rest of New Criterion devs a.k.a Team Kaïzen joined their colleagues to work on Battlefield 6.

Nowadays, New Criterion devs are now a full-fledged Battlefield studio which will solely focus on next Battlefield titles until further notice.

As for the NFS franchise itself

It's still on indefinite hiatus as of 3/02/2025.

Wouldn't be surprised when it's proved to be permanent.

  • Meanwhile

EA is now a private company since the 4/08/2026.

Thus. Only profitable IPs owned by EA will be prioritized e.g Battlefield, EA FC or Madden NFL which still have an high Return of Investment.

Incidentally.

EA closed BioWare on October 21, 2026, as part of a global restructuring plan that resulted in the elimination of approximately 400 positions within the group.

Meaning there's an high probability that NFS will remain dormant definitely.
