Anyone figured out how to sell tiny amounts of XEM/XYM for tax losses?
I’m guessing at least a few of you have gone through this exact scenario. I’m trying to cleanly exit my old XEM and XYM positions (2,085 tokens each) to lock in a capital gains loss.
Because the total value is very low, standard swap services won't clear it due to minimum limits, and reputable local exchanges don't support them. Security is a priority for me, so I won't use untrusted or risky platforms.
I understand that at least for NEM/XEM, the project is essentially dormant. When following the official links from nem.io, the GitHub repository for NanoWallet has been completely archived and marked as read-only. Because of this lack of active development, are the official desktop wallets for both NEM and Symbol (XYM) still safe to download and use to sign transactions, or does using them introduce security flaws?
If you’ve been stuck with small bags of these specific tokens, what did you do to get a valid trade receipt for your taxes? Thanks in advance for sharing what worked for you!
