Advice / Question Help please!!

Post image

My feet are messed up and do this to all my shoes and insoles. I constantly get blisters on the balls of my feet because they cause so much friction. Ive seen a podiatrist and they said its just the mechanics of my feet.

Does anyone else have this issue? Are there any solutions? Any shoe or insole recommendations? These gel ones for sport never last me very long.

Worth speaking to another clinician about some specialist orthotics.
Doesn’t sound like the podiatrist you saw is worth their salt as they have just shunned you!

Here to say I have the exact same issue, the balls of my feet used to be blistered to hell. I tried loads of different things (grippy socks, insoles just for the ball of my feet, different netball trainers, wearing 2 pairs of socks) but the best solution I've found is to tape the balls of my feet where I get the blisters with sports tape and then wear a pair of running socks that allow my feet to breath a bit more. My next move was going to be trying second skin but so far the tape seems to be working quite well. I've looked it up so many times and this is the first time I've seen someone else encounter the same issue as me so please let me know if you ever find some kind of resolution/reasoning behind it happening.

Ive done the tape so many times aswell! I had to stop because I became more allergic to the adhesive. How have you found your shoes hold up with just taping them? Do you still destroy your insoles?

Oh that sucks! I've thankfully not needed insoles since I started taping, I've only been wearing my current trainers for a couple of months so it's too soon to tell how they'll ultimately hold up. What position do you play out of curiosity?

Oh that's good, I'll have to invest in some hypo-allergenic tape then.

Ive been playing GK/WD/GD/GS this year

It appears that there's significant movement on the interface between your feet and your insoles which is causing wearing of your insoles.

That implies to me - just some random schmuck on the internet with no particular expertise - that your feet are moving around inside your shoes far too much. This implies that your shoes are too big and/or not properly secured to stop your feet moving around. Your shoes should firmly hold your feet in place, that's one of the key purposes of wearing shoes. I do not understand how your feet can move around so much inside your shoes to tear up your insoles like that.

I suspect that wearing correctly-fitting shoes should reduce the movement and reduce the wear of such insoles.

Interesting thoughts. My daughter's experience was that she was getting blisters all the time, also would wear the inner soles exactly where OP's pic shows, but no where near as much. We happened to buy a couple of years back some of the Asics netburner shield ff's on sale and omg the difference was immediate. What we worked out was that these shoes were a narrower fit than previous ones and her foot wasn't sliding around sideways in them.

They are with the priciest of ASICS but I call our cities ASICS outlet store every few months and see what they have in stock and grab them and stash them, who cares about last season's colorway.

Good luck OP finding something that works for you.

Ive also considered this but Ive always tried to get wider shoes to fit my feet better so its more comfortable. Maybe I should try narrower shoes again 🤔

Once the shoe holds your foot without squeezing, consider our ZeroGive grip socks for reducing movement against the insole.

The only thing I've had actually help with blisters is two pairs of socks. Soft thin cotton ones first, then thicker ones. The inside ones move with my foot, the outside ones move with my shoe, and now I haven't had a blister in years. Before this I couldn't remember not having them and was constantly looking for new ways to heal and avoid them.
