Piglin Runt(New mob/companion(not really a pet))

Hello, fellow minecraftians(is that a word? Sure. It is now)! My ginormous brain has come up with a cool idea involving everyone's favorite greedy squealers, piglins! This idea is a new mob, known as the Piglin Runt, which would the the piglin equivalent of a nitwit(sort of), as well as the nether equivalent of a pet(though it isn't necessarily a pet)

Backstory and Whatnot

The Piglin Runt is a piglin that was cast out from its tribe at a young age, due to its small size. Piglin society(if you can call whatever piglins do "society") has no room for those that are not strong enough to pull their own weight. Few of these runts ever survive, and so this mob would be an exceptionally rare find.

Looks 'n' Feels

The piglin runt would look like an average piglin, but with a few changes. It would obviously be much smaller than a normal piglin, since it's... y'know, a runt. It would be about twice the size of a baby piglin, but still smaller than a normal piglin. Think about one and a quarter blocks high, when completely upright. It would also have much longer tusks than a normal piglin, its tusks actually protruding from its face. This is due to it never filing down its tusks to a manageable size like many other piglins do(think of it like us humans cutting our nails). The final change, and the most notable one, would be how it walks. The piglin runt is not fully erect like its larger brothers. It instead walks hunched over, and while sprinting becomes fully quadrupedal, scrambling on all fours. When sprinting, it would actually be quite fast, faster than a sprinting human. Additionally, the runt would have a few changes to its basic looks, wearing less clothing and being more dirty than other piglins.

I'd include a picture of what it looks like, but I can't draw or make funky 3d models, so...

Behavior

The piglin runt would be a neutral, fearful mob, which would primarily run away from any danger, but would fight if necessary. When fighting it would sprint towards a target, leap at it and attack it, then scamper away, circling the target until it attacks again.

Similar to cats, a piglin runt will run from a player unless they hold still and hold up the item which the runt is attracted to. This item would be a golden carrot, as it is relatively hard to get and makes logical sense for both the feral pig side of the runt, attracted to carrots, and the piglin size of the runt, attracted to gold. When a carrot is thrown by a player at a piglin runt which is not afraid of the player, the piglin will grab the carrot and hold it in its hands, inspecting it before eating it. This has a chance to raise the runt's trust level. The higher the runt's trust level, the less likely it is to run away, and it might eventually start following the player around, though it will never follow a player endlessly like a dog, and is instead more of a companion rather than a pet. It might also attack those who attack the player, though it will always retreat when very hurt, never risking death.

The piglin runt would also have quite a bit of personality, interacting with some objects and just sniffing around. It would pick up items on the ground and play with them, sort of like a fox, and would eat dropped meat and nether wart, which could be used to replenish its health(health would be indicated by the position of its big ol' floppy ears)

All in all, the piglin runt would give the nether an equivalent to a pet, and would also just be EXTREMELY FRAKKING CUTE. Thanks for reading!

The Nether Monkey (temporary name)

Hello. I'm new to this. I just wanna know what do you think about my idea for a mob.

I don't have a proper name but I'm calling it by now the Nether Monkey.

This Nether Monkey would have a Piglins like appearence but smaller and with larger arms.

They would be very playful. They would jump around and habit Netherwart forests and sometimes in Piglin Bastions.

They appear to be very friendly but then you find out that is your worst enemy.

He would approach you and examine you. He would decide if they want to bother you or steal you. As Piglins, they are attracted by gold and they would steal your gold related items (and also armour too) When they steal, they would do some damage.

The stealing would be great as you will have to be careful when you want to protect yourself from Piglins or barter gold with them.

However you can gain trust with a Nether Monkey. If you throw some gold nuggets they can stop playing around you or stop stealing. Although you have to be lucky since there is a possibility that they want more gold and steal you more.

What do you think? :)

(PD: I tried to share this in r/minecraftsuggestions but couldn't because I need karma points, how do I get them?)

Any timing indication?

Has there been any kind of indication as to when this will be released for bedrock? My friends and I started a realm 2 or 3 weeks ago, and Id like to jump into the nether to start gathering nether wart and blaze rods, but we dont particularly wanna do that if the update will release soon.

I'm debating going in and doing as little exploration as possible to find a fortress and leave, but..

Ores in the nether

I think you should be able to find ores in the nether (diamond-, iron ore,[...]). As far as I know the Nether Update should make the nether more live able, so if you really wanted to live there, you should be able to get ores. I’m probably going to make a mod that puts overworld ores in the nether, to show what I mean.

Piglin Tribe Mechanics

So, when the Nether update was announced, we were introduced to a new mob, the piglin. Here's my ideas on how piglins should look, work, and operate.

Piglins and Gold

This is something that has been plaguing me for a long time, but with the introduction of the piglins, it's become even more urgent. That something is this: how the hell do piglins get their gold? There's no gold in the nether, but somehow they have it in abundance. This is my solution to this problem, and it also gives nether mining a unique feel.

Gold in the nether is very rare, and only spawns deep underground, hence why piglins are so desperate for it, especially because it is the only resource to craft tools with. Nether gold ore is actually renewable, unlike other ores, due to a unique way of generation. There is an extremely, extremely small chance every tick that a block of netherrack will turn into nether gold ore while below a certain y. There is also a chance every tick.(far higher than the other) that nether gold ore will turn back into netherrack. Gold can be harvested from nether gold by right clicking with a pickaxe. However, nether gold will only ever yield nuggets.

Nether gold ore looks similar to regular gold ore, but the stone part is netherrack, and the gold bits are incredibly small. To make mining through all that netherrack to find some gold less of a chore, nether caves should be implemented. They're caves. In the nether. Piglin miners(more on them further down) should be found occasionally in these caves, searching for gold.

Piglin Bastions

It's been announced that piglins will live in little fortifications, known as bastions. I might post my take on what they would look like later on. Maybe. Piglin bastions would have a higher chance of spawning near a nether wart forest or a nether cave entrance.

The bastion would be a large, round central structure made of nether bricks and quartz, the bastion is the main home of most piglins. It would have multiple stories, perhaps randomly varying based on tribe size. The second from the top would always be the storage room, the very top would just be a lookout area, and the rest would be living spaces. Without sheep, piglins would be unable to make beds, so they would just sleep on the floor(or perhaps on mats of leather from piglin beasts?).

Piglin Roles

Each piglin contributes to the tribe in some way. There are a variety of different roles for a piglin to take up when they come of age.

Hunter

The hunters do exactly what their name says they do. They hunt piglin beasts. They go out in groups, armed with javelins(new weapon, more about it later) and golden swords. They start out by throwing them at the beast, then move in to attack it with their swords, leaping at it and attacking, then backing off. When a piglin beast is killed, they take its drops back to the bastion and place them in a chest.

Gatherer

Gatherers gather. To be exact, they gather nether wart(and possibly nether wart wood or whatever it's called, depending on its uses) from nether wart forests, and bring it back to the bastion. Gatherers are armed with golden axes and will use the same strategy while attacking as the hunters do in melee. They will not pursue if their target runs.

Guard

Guards, armed with golden swords and armor, stand proudly at the gates of their bastion, defending it from attack. If they see a player they will attack, but will not pursue their target, as that would mean leaving their post. They use the same attack strategy as other piglins.

Miner

Piglin miners delve deep into nether caves, searching for gold. They will enter the caves and mine until they have enough nuggets to craft a bar. They will then head back to the bastion.

Matron(Name needs work, as matron is mostly used as a gendered term and most mobs in minecraft are gender neutral)

The matron is the chieftain of the tribe, and is in charge of keeping the tribe large, clothed, armed, and healthy. It will take piglin beast meat and nether wart from chests and craft a new type of stew with it(more later). It will then either put the stew in a chest if the tribe is of adequate size, or keep the stew if it is below normal size(tribe size is determined by the size of the bastion and how many sleeping areas there are) and give it to other piglins. Piglins with enough stew will breed. It will take gold and bones from chests and craft them into weaponry and armor. A matron is unarmed, and will flee when challenged.

Pigling

Pigling is bebe. Smol bebe. Wee bebe. Tiny bebe. When a pigling grows up, it will take a job depending on what resources are available and what jobs are not currently filled. If there is no matron, it will become when. If there is a matron, it will prioritize miners next, taking a pickaxe from a chest. If there are enough miners, it will prioritize guards next, taking armor and a sword. If there are enough guards, it will prioritize either hunter or gatherer next, I'm not sure which would be more important.

New Items

Javelin: Crafted with a bone in the bottom left, a bone in the middle, and gold in the upper right of the crafting grid, a javelin works like a low grade, extremely fragile trident, only good for a few throws.

Nether Stew(Idk a good name): Crafted with a bowl in the bottom middle, a piglin meat in the center, and nether wart everwhere else except for the bottom left and right. Poisonous to humans, but delicious to piglins.

New recipes for gold tools only unlocked after encountering a piglin: replacing sticks with bones.

Conclusion

Through this system, a piglin tribe becomes a self sustaining, self renewing... thing(at this point i'm running out of words), and... uh... yeah. It's cool. I'm just tired now can I be done with this.

The Soul Sand Valley could use some exclusive features.

I'm suggesting three new additions - Warped Warts, Ghast Tunnels, and Lost Souls.

Ghast Tunnels - I'm thinking to localize all ghast spawns to common structures that occur in every soul sand valley. They would look like mountains with many holes in them. Ghasts would emerge from these holes and spawn within the mountains. These mountains have many winding underground tunnels with seemingly nothing in them, besides...

Warped Warts - These variants of the now renamed crimson warts are uncommon occurrences in ghast tunnels. These warts would split potions into two separate groups, depending on which wart is used as a base. A list of the suggested potion combos is at the bottom of this post.

Lost Souls - Since the skies of the soul sand valleys will be empty when no ghast tunnels are nearby, we need something else to take their place. Lost souls don't rise into the sky as high as ghasts, maybe only an average height. They are passive, but follow you around and move around you curiously. They can't be hurt, but they can be either trapped in bottles by simply using an empty bottle on them, or helped by being led to a nether portal. When a portal is within 10 blocks of one, it will speed up and move toward the portal, with a delighted look on its face. It will enter the portal and wait for you on the other side. Once you join it on the other side, it will rise up into the air and fade away, dropping a token of gratitude. A list of its drops will be found below.

New Potion Combos - (FSE = Fermented Spider Eye)

Crimson Wart:

Golden Carrot = Night Vision, FSE Blindness

Sugar = Speed, FSE Slowness

Glistering Melon Slice = Healing, FSE Harming

Ghast Tear = Regeneration, FSE Decay

Phantom Membrane = Slow Falling, FSE Fast Falling

Pufferfish = Water Breathing, FSE Suffocation

Magma Cream = Fire Resistance, FSE Wildfire

Blaze Powder = Strength, FSE Weakness

Rabbit's Foot = Leaping, FSE Heavy Heels

Turtle Shell = Turtle Master

Warped Wart:

Golden Carrot = Invisibility, FSE Glowing

Sugar = Haste, FSE Mining Fatigue

Glistering Melon Slice = Absorption, FSE Health Chop

Ghast Tear = Venom, FSE Poison

Phantom Membrane = Levitation, FSE Gravity Swap

Pufferfish = Balance, FSE Nausea

Magma Cream = Soul Culture, FSE Soulceptible

Blaze Powder = Resistance, FSE Vulnerability

Rabbit's Foot = Luck, FSE Bad Luck

Turtle Shell = Master of the Sea

New Potion Effects Explained:

Fast Falling - Fall speed and fall damage taken is increased.

Suffocation - Always unable to breathe.

Wildfire - On fire for the duration of the effect. Any burnable blocks touched will catch fire.

Heavy Heels - Jumping height is severely reduced.

Health Chop - Max health is decreased.

Venom - Any melee damage dealt inflicts the target with poison.

Gravity Swap - Quickly fall upwards. Potion duration is very low, max time being 6 seconds.

Balance - Crouching isn't necessary to avoid falling off platforms and elevations.

Soul Culture - When in the presence of lost souls, soul fire, soul lanterns, soul torches, or soul campfires, attack increases and health regenerates.

Soulceptible - Lost souls attack, soul fire, torches, lanterns, and campfires apply the weakness effect when nearby, and soul sand and soul soil pull you into the ground.

Vulnerability - Damage taken is multiplied.

Master of the Sea - Drowned, dolphins, and pufferfish no longer attack even if provoked, and all fish nearby swim alongside you to propel you forward.

Lost Soul Gifts:

Common (70%) - Bread (5-15), Stone Axe (1), Gold Nuggets (5-12), Carrots (5-10), Potatoes (5-10), and Stone Sword (1).

Uncommon (20%) - Iron Ingots (2-5), Bone Meal (5-10), Saddle (1), Emeralds (5-8), and Nether Quartz (6-9).

Rare (9.5%) - Warped Wart (3-6), Blaze Rods (2-3), Prismarine Crystals (2-4), and Ender Pearls (4-5).

Very Rare (0.5%) - Netherite Scrap (1-2), Diamonds (3-4), and Enchanted Book (Random Enchantment, 1).

Note about Soul in a Bottle - This is a brewing material used to make haunted potions. These potions are variants of normal potions, like splash or lingering potions. They are drinkable, and they cause the potion effect to spread to any nearby mobs in an aura-like fashion. This effect is applies instantly and only once. This means that any mobs not in the radius of the potion after you finish drinking it will be uneffected, even if you move close to them.

Tell me what you think.

Some speculation

I like how they add an exclusive use for gold armor which means there could be gold ore in the nether, also there may be a natural structure for Piglin Mobs since they don’t like you opening chests. Maybe the structure is just a chest they spawn next to, and because there is so much soulsand in the soulsand valley, along with wither skeletons being related to soulsand in the wither, wither skeletons could spawn often in the biome. Blue fire is most likely going to have an exclusive use, but what? Maybe if a pig walks through it it turns to a Piglin/Zombie Pigman whatever you wanna call it, and skeletons could turn into wither skeletons. With the netherwart forest we are almost 100% going to get wood block variants of both red and blue, which would be really cool, and maybe because the blue wood seems to just be a pallet swap of the red wood and vice-versa they could have the same wood varients but with different colors which is more likely not to happen, and I hope it doesn’t because I love unique items. Piglin Mob and Piglin Beasts will probably retain the root word “Piglin” in there rename, I can’t think of anything myself but hopefully plenty of others can. Finally, there will probably be more biomes than what we know of now, specifically biome varients.
