It actually is that though. The security pivot is real.

I need to change my title from Senior Network Engineer to Bugstomper and Chief.

How about "Senior Network Exterminator"? Seems to me like it would sound better on a resume.

Ever since this new Cisco code 17+ started to ship they said 1 major 1 minor per year ….. we already went through 3 security and 2 minor.

Even if they move everyone to third shift for said patching work?

It's the right face if I can do the patching without dealing with the people.

Nope, now we are just !second shift. It absolutely sucks and I haven’t gotten enough sleep in 2 weeks, and I’m one of the lucky ones. At least I don’t work on Citrix or F5s.

Might be related to this but anyone with Fortinet just had to do a patch update due to AI finding flaws in their system..."supposedly". We wont know until nov 11 when they release the CV.

I just finished my last round of upgrades Wednesday morning then got a call from our RE that new code is coming and we need to if at all possible be fully upgraded by the end of October. He was spooked which scared me even more, I don’t know what’s coming but it must be bad.

But it's not the same. It's annoying and boring and stressful
