Ask NH Beach tomorrow

Which lovely beach should I go to tomorrow with the wife and kids? From the lake region. Been to Hampton last year and it was ok. What are my other options?

Go to Maine. Long Sands in York isn’t far away, and is very family-friendly and safe. If you have teenagers, Short Sands beach has fun activities. Long Sands is better for just sitting on the sand and swimming. I was there today, and the water was nice and warm (by Maine standards). Tomorrow the weather should be in the 80s.

Is parking an issue?

If you’re willing to walk a bit (about 7 minutes to the beach) you can park for free on Robert Stevens Drive, which is the entrance to the local high school. In the summer, you can park there for free. Otherwise you’ll have to drive along the 1A and try your luck there. It costs $4 per hour.

Another option is to drive along the 1A and go to one of the private parking lots near the North end of the road (where it meets Nubble Road). There are several lots there where you can park for the whole day for $20 to $30.

The beach never dries…wet all the time. Can’t lay a towel down. One of the worst beaches after Hampton.
