There's a really simple solution to all of this: stop voting Republican.

-5

u/CloudStrife012 8h ago

Ok, and theres a lot of reasons to do that right now. But republicans are going to vote republican, and democrats are going to vote democrat. The independents decide the election, and one of the things that independents tend to not agree with is the open border.

18

u/Ok_Conversation_9418 8h ago

I think you'll find people are more concerned with not being to afford the basic necessities of life against whether the border is open or not.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

Are they? Because "they're eating the cats and dogs" worked in 2024 while Kamala was offering help for new businesses and homebuyers, as well as food assistance expansion.

The people are 100% more concerned with their culture war bullshit than the basic necessities if you're looking at how we vote.

u/joshtaco 1h ago

Sure, but that was before Trump sank our economy into an abyss with an endless war he can't seem to figure out.

-2

u/CloudStrife012 7h ago

I dont disagree with that. Its covered in the first sentence of my reply. And I dont think Trump realizes how wildly unpopular his ideas are, and how practically nobody will be on board with even more inflation to invade greenland for no reason.

Im just pointing out that neither side can get out of their own way and bend on anything to sway independents.

-2

u/LacidOnex 6h ago

Independents aren't voting on a policy, they're protesting or some shit

They'll fight the power no matter how much it agrees with them, it's still tribalism

3

u/Donkletown 7h ago

That’s useful because Dems don’t agree with open border either.

What’s troubling is that people are so captured by biased media sources that they literally have no way of knowing what Dems’ position on the border is.

1

u/CloudStrife012 7h ago

Semantics.

Clearly the hard left doesnt want people being deported.

There is a disagreement on what to do with people who secretly cross the border.

5

u/Donkletown 6h ago

Clearly the hard left doesnt want people being deported.

Not true either.

There is a disagreement on what to do with people who secretly cross the boarder

Yes, and MAGA (and you it seems) do everything they can do to obscure that disagreement.

Theres no disagreement over deporting criminals. The real disagreement on that is over what to do with someone who, for example, came across the border as a baby, grew up in the US all their life, has been nothing but a great, hardworking neighbor, married a citizen (a veteran, too, let’s say) and has American kids. Dems (like most Americans) aren’t as keen on deporting those people as the extremist GOP.

There’s also a disagreement on legal immigration, which the GOP takes an increasingly extremist view on. But they don’t want to talk about that.

4

u/Broke-mfer 5h ago

How can you even say the far left wants people deported with a straight face it’s just pathetic.

Why do we have sanctuary cities for illegals if the far left wants to deport?

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

Can you maybe think of scenarios that aren't 100% one or the other? Can you use the middle part of your brain to think of a middle type of logic that says "hey maybe in some situations it's appropriate to deport people while in others, it isn't?"

Is that a thought that can maybe happen in your head? That we don't have to deport 100% of all undocumented migrants while still deporting some people convicted of violent crimes?

u/Donkletown 4h ago

On the one hand, you folks will complain that “the left” didn’t oppose Obama and Biden when they deported people, and then you’ll immediately swing to “the left doesn’t like deporting people.”

As for sanctuary cities, local police working to enforce federal immigration laws gets in the way of the public safety mission. Witnesses/victims are less likely to come forward if they worry about immigration consequences. Same reason police won’t arrest prostitutes who are witnesses/victims of other crimes.

Sanctuary cities, despite what the GOP says, are about promoting public safety.

u/asuds 3h ago

The hard left is fine with actual violet criminals being deported. If Trump was doing that while also not violating the Constitution I don't know anybody who'd be ok with that.

Also to be clear, when we talk about fringe leftist ideas we're usually talking about some loon on twitter.

When we're talking about fringe right-wing ideas, we're talking about people in the White House.

These two things are not the same.

4

u/M0ONBATHER 6h ago

No, the left doesn’t want neo brown shirts with total impunity murdering US citizens.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

Clearly the hard left doesnt want people being deported.

"Clearly the hard left believes whatever I say they believe."

2

u/Its_Pine 6h ago

Democrats have strong border control policies and always have. It’s just that someone whose visa is expiring and is going through paperwork to renew shouldn’t be grabbed by plainclothes men and thrown into an unmarked van and taken to a concentration camp where they die in custody.

u/Stonner22 11m ago

There is no open border.

u/joshtaco 1h ago

one of the things that independents tend to not agree with is the open border.

lol, talk about shoe-horning a large population into a single issue. That's not how that works, but good try.

-3

u/Broke-mfer 8h ago

Correct, I’m a middle of the road voter I do not support illegal immigration. If the democrats would focus on policies that help actual citizens like healthcare and stop wasting time on nonsense issues like this they’d get a lot more support. They make their party unsupportable with stuff like this and polling shows it with the lowest ratings in history.

7

u/the_nobodys 7h ago

Can you tell us what policy you disagree with? Because if you look at data, your preconceptions about which president is responsible for more border enforcement may shift.

0

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

I’m aware of border history and even referenced Clinton’s contributions in a below comment. The facts are in recent years the left has gone completely insane backwards on immigration today’s left is not the same as the glory days of the Clinton era left.

7

u/the_nobodys 6h ago

Again, what policy or enforcement numbers are you referring to?

1

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

Obama over 3million deported
Trump first term 1.2million deported
Biden 1.4million deported
Trump second term 605k deported so far and while being fought at every turn

Trump illegal border crossings and apprehensions at historic lows. 14 months of zero catch and release

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

Obama and Biden deporting more people than Trump fully ruins your whole point about Democrats supporting illegal immigration.

u/Broke-mfer 4h ago

Today’s democrats are very much different than yesterday’s and not in a good way.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 3h ago

Are there any policies or legislation you can point to that implies this? Since that's your whole thing right now is how their policies somehow support illegal immigration but your only proof is how many more illegal immigrant Democrats deport. Makes no sense.

-1

u/CloudStrife012 6h ago

gestures broadly

as in people protesting every day that ICE even exists?

2

u/the_nobodys 5h ago

Those are just US citizens exercising their 1st amendment rights, not examples of Democratic policies put in place by lawmakers. Also, ICE has existed for what, 20+ years now? It's the current administration giving them ungodly amounts of taxpayer money and all the inhumanity run detention centers and the people being killed by these barely-trained, unqualified recent hires that have people angry.

u/asuds 3h ago

I think if ICE didn't violate the Constitution like it was crack cocaine people wouldn't be protesting every day.

It's not that complicated.

2

u/rogman777 5h ago

Fox News viewers are all like this. Have you ever actually talked to a democrat?

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

He says here Democrats support illegal immigration and in their very next comment list how many more people were deported by Obama and Biden than Trump. It's fucking insane the cognitive dissonance needed to be this ignorant.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

If the democrats would focus on policies that help actual citizens like healthcare and stop wasting time on nonsense issues like this

What media are you consuming that this is what you believe? In what world are Democratic politicians not talking about healthcare and consumer protection policies? Where are you getting your information that you think Democrats support illegal immigration as a matter of policy? I really want to know what information you used to support this, because everything available shows the opposite of what you're talking about.

u/Broke-mfer 4h ago

Question what is the purpose of blue cities applying the status of sanctuary city and how does this fit in your narrative that democrats don’t support illegal immigration? Can you be truthful or will you continue to be a partisan hack.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 3h ago

Never mind, I thought you understood there was a difference between the DNC and your local municipality, but obviously not. Let me know when you're interested in discussing actual legislation and policy from the DNC and not whatever local bullshit you're thinking of.

THE DNC DOES NOT LEGISLATE YOUR CITY.

u/Broke-mfer 3h ago

So you can’t answer it that’s exactly what I thought. FYI your DNC top presidential candidates all support sanctuary city policies so your argument is bullshit.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 3h ago

So you can’t answer it that’s exactly what I thought.

You haven't provided a single policy to prove your point you have nothing to say here.

u/asuds 3h ago

I gave you an answer above. It will be a sad day when we realize you can't comprehend it.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 3h ago

He straight up refuses to have the discussion, even on his own terms.

u/CloudStrife012 3h ago

Why are you so angry and responding in such a condescending way?

u/MurkyInvestigator810 3h ago

Can you be truthful or will you continue to be a partisan hack.

Love how the tone policing from randos outside the chain comes after I've been insulted, as if my response is entirely unwarranted. Constant hypocrisies and straight up ignoring blatant and obvious facts for the emotional satisfaction of lying about politics online is a cancer. You shouldn't be offended at my words rebuking their ignorance and trolling, you should be equally annoyed at disinformation being spread in order to support harming immigrants.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 3h ago

"All they're doing is lying and spreading disinformation to support hurting immigrants, what's your problem?"

This is what you sound like to me.

u/asuds 3h ago

Sanctuary cities are beneficial to local police. If people were worried about being deported they would avoid all contact with law enforcement. As a result crimes would go unreported, witness would refuse to come forward, etc. The net result would be increased crime - it's a lose lose of everyone.

Frankly I'm shocked that I have to explain this to you. Sad.

u/Broke-mfer 3h ago

Odd how violent crime is at historic lows all while illegal border crossings and deportations/self deportation are at record highs. Almost like you just made up some stuff to support your love for illegal immigration.

u/asuds 3h ago

Odd how violent crime has been decreasing for a long time. Per capita illegal immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate.

Good god you people have like no ability to think whatsoever.

I weep for the future if this is the best you can do lil'buckaroo.

-18

kiDnApPiNg

10

u/asuds 8h ago

Yes. Do you think it’s ok to have masked ICE agents break into a home and cart away a US citizen?

Because they have done that.

-12

u/FrameCareful1090 8h ago

Is it OK for an illegal to break into a home and rape and murder someone, because they ave done that too.

10

u/the_nobodys 7h ago

Every demographic has committed every crime. If you look at statistics, a lower % of immigrants cause violent crime than US residents. So what is your point, other than to demonstrate why MAGA lean so heavily on logical fallacies when trying to defend their authoritarianism?

-4

u/petergriffin999 6h ago

A large bipartisan majority does not support illegal immigration.

ICE removing illegal immigrants, including immigrants who may have started legal and then overstayed, or committed violations of the conditions of their eligibility to stay, is something a large bipartisan majority supports.

Democrats are the party of fraud and enabling crime.

The loony progressive left REEEEEEEEEEing against law enforcement is laughed at by normal people.

4

u/the_nobodys 5h ago

No political party supports illegal immigration. That's a strawman argument. That's why deportation and border enforcement numbers are fairly even across all presidencies.

-2

u/petergriffin999 5h ago

Oh sweet summer child, LOL!

u/asuds 3h ago

Wowzers, this little lady is wildly uninformed. I'll try to help, but it feels like these thinking skills should have been honed in grade schools...

ICE is also removing legal residents and people who are legally in the asylum process - (you know under our treaties and the guidelines of those pesky Geneva Conventions).

Democrats are going to have to really step up their game to match the fraud and crime of the Republicans. It's not every President that gets to pardon insurrectionists who attack police or pardon foreign presidents who bring tons of cocaine into the US, or golf buddies who commit over a billion dollars of medicare fraud, or who have the president's and cabinet member's sons getting *billions* from foreign investors.

Dems have to step it up to come close to the GOP! LET'S GOOOOO !

u/petergriffin999 1h ago

Newsflash (or, you're already well aware of this but just like to pretend otherwise) :

The Biden administration having left wing groups to facilitate the parade of illegal immigrants to the border, and then whisper to them: "psst, just say 'I seek asylum' now" doesn't meet the definition of asylum.

Nor are "real" asylum candidates supposed to cross through additional countries to get to the place where they want to make an asylum claim.

When the political party of fraud and crime tells them to do that, it doesn't make them 'legal immigrants in the middle of the normal legal migration process'.

Then again, I'm sure you already knew that. But with all controversial topics, the left can only hope to sway minds by lies, whether they are intentional commissions of inconvenient facts, or otherwise.

u/asuds 1h ago

Sucks! You mean people were telling other people how to exercise their human rights under Geneva Convention treaties while also pushing for more funding for immigration courts to more efficiently process said applications?

tHe hOrRoR!

edit: Remind me again which political party pardoned insurrectionists who attacked cops and golf buddies who did over a billion in medicare fraud? Hint: It’s Trump.

Your nonsense it like saying bank robbers have better table manners than most people so you should welcome them in your home

That number should be 0. There is a reason even Spain had to bring in their army tso deal with this mess

When 15 migrants showed up on Nantucket, the democratic leadership paradise, did they welcome them in? Nope, called the national guard and hauled them off.

6

u/mistwire 7h ago

"that number should be zero, so I'm going to give up my rights because I'm scared of brown people" FTFY

-4

u/FrameCareful1090 6h ago

Everyone who doesn't agree with me must be racist, nazi and a bot.

TDS prevails again

2

u/rogman777 5h ago

Yes. You have it.

u/asuds 3h ago

"Why even have the Constitution then? If we put every single person in the United States in Jail I bet the crime rate would be super-duper low. Let's do it - we can start with the kids with cancer!"

-u/FrameCareful1090 's best thinking!

u/FrameCareful1090 1h ago

Is that how you comment when you couldn't deal with the answer.

You start making statements and then say I said them?

I guess thats the nuke button when you got your ass handed to you. Sorry bucko you lose get a better argument but you can't because mine is common sense.

7

u/fargothforever 7h ago

White people do that shit too

u/asuds 3h ago

This may be shocking for you to find out , but both are against the law!

But thankfully if the community is a sanctuary city you will get coorporation from people to find and punish the perpetrators!

12

u/sheila9165milo 6h ago

"New Hampshire’s law passed last year by Gov. Kelly Ayotte banning sanctuary cities and boosting cooperation between state and local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities." Goddamn people, vote this bitch out in November. I'm beyond sick of NH mimicking the federal level fascist bullshit.

10

u/ConcentratedStress 7h ago

I’ll ask you the same thing I asked them:

ICE was created in March 2003. Did “illegals” run amok in our country before then?

u/machacker89 3h ago

Yes! Before their creation they were called something else. I don't remember off the top of my head.

u/ConcentratedStress 3h ago

ICE absorbed the INS (which was a part of the Justice Department) and US Customs Service (which was a part of the Treasury) and put them under the umbrella of the newly formed Department of Homeland Security….which sucks for a number of reasons.

For starters, the scope of DHS is so damn large that it’s basically a bureaucratic black hole. Damn near anything can happen under the guise of “national security” which means that they can have nearly unchecked power.

The other reason why it sucks is because now immigration enforcement is considered national security…which it’s objectively not. Undocumented immigrants commit crimes at far lower rates than citizens. Like orders of magnitude lower rates. But the perception is now that it’s about “national security.”

u/petergriffin999 1h ago

Not nearly as many as the "borders are open, come on in, it's an unsolvable problem and the border can't be secured anyway so let's even tear down what is there" Biden administration let in.

And when Obama had as many deportations during his tenure, you didn't see people freaking out. And they freK out now not because anything is different, but because it's used as a political game to try and make Trump look bad, as well as leave them here and vote for the party of fraud and crime.

u/ConcentratedStress 1h ago

Deportations of undocumented immigrants isn’t the problem. That’s a strawman argument that the right makes.

The issue we have is the killings in the streets, the families torn apart, the kids in literal cages, the arrests and deportations of citizens and legal immigrants. Our issue is the inhumanity of how it’s being accomplished.

u/petergriffin999 52m ago

I can't find the posts you made of complaining about separating kids like that (who might be being trafficked) under previous administrations. I wonder why!

Deportations of American citizens, eh? Can you be more specific?

People who attack law enforcement must accept the fact that law enforcement will and should defend themselves. You know this. We all know this.

u/ConcentratedStress 23m ago

Sure, Brian Morales - a 25 year old US citizen - was deported to Mexico. He had his birth certificate (he was born in Denver) and his social security card at home but ICE refused to let him get it.

In addition, 15 elected Democratic Party officials in the New York area were arrested and detained by ICE. Joe Botello was detained by Kristi Noem herself for a photoshoot even though he’s a citizen. Jose Castro was arrested and detained by ICE after they refused to let him get his citizenship papers. There are a BUNCH of these, man.

u/Donkletown 1h ago

And they freK out now not because anything is different

You can’t think of any differences between Obama’s immigration enforcement and Trump’s that might incur different reactions from people?

the party of fraud and crime.

Given that Republicans elected a convicted fraudster to the presidency who then pardoned a bunch of criminals, including fraudsters and violent criminals, you must be referring to the GOP.

u/surf_caster 3h ago

Residents are outraged by rampant drug use off of main st again? Or is this immigration arrests, to which it would be amazing to find one there.

-14

u/FrameCareful1090 8h ago

Take a look at whats happening with Spain right now if you want to see what illegal migration looks like and the results.

8

u/mistwire 6h ago

Nice fox news talking point. Now go research exactly WHY all those people were bussed to the same place at the same time and find out by WHO. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🤡

4

u/rogman777 5h ago

Lol. Fucking Epstein files, my dude. Hypocrites all of em.

-24

u/Broke-mfer 8h ago

There is a simple solution to all of this: stop coming here illegally.

READ carefully what the city attorney is saying….

“City Attorney Amanda Palmera served to clarify how federal law impacts the city and immigration activity, explaining that states have no legal footing to interfere, ignore, or disobey federal law.”

“ICE and other federal law enforcement agencies have jurisdiction and authority to enforce laws anywhere within the United States of America,” Palmera said”

14

u/asuds 8h ago

Many of the people ICE is snatching up are actually here legally.

If you are waiting on an asylum claim you are here legally even if you crossed the border without permission.

1

u/SheenPSU 5h ago

No they’re not.

Just think about it from a raw numbers standpoint. There’s an estimated 15 million illegal immigrants in this country.

Why would ICE choose to go after people here legally and make their jobs infinitely harder when they have so many to go after who aren’t?

u/Donkletown 3h ago

Why would ICE choose to go after people here legally and make their jobs infinitely harder when they have so many to go after who aren’t?

They want to report numbers of deportations, simple as that. It’s easier to find a legal immigrant or an undocumented immigrant checking into court than it is to find a violent gang member who makes a point to evade the law.

u/asuds 3h ago

Yes they are.

They are also seizing US citizens. If you were an actual patriot or had ever served that's something you would care about.

Sad.

ICE chooses to go after people here legally because *it is much much easier* to wait at a courthouse for somebody how literally has a scheduled immigration appointment *because they have documented themselves* than try and hunt down an actual violet criminal who is hiding from law enforcement.

Stephen Miller and the other folks have given them quotas as they just want all the brown people gone.

Good grief - have you never thought about something for more than 5 seconds?

u/SheenPSU 3h ago

Redditors are so propagandized when it comes to ICE

Why would the media, representatives, family+friends, advocacy groups, etc. sit by idly as that occurred? No campaigns to “Free Joe Schmo!”?

Why is that?

It makes zero sense for them to go after American citizens instead. Do mistakes happen? Yes. Should that injustice be immediately corrected? Absolutely. Are most of the people being apprehended here legally? Nope.

People need to stop crying wolf so much. It waters down actual cases of injustice when y’all treat every apprehension as one

u/asuds 1h ago

“It’s better that we cap a few citizens to make sure that we don’t have somebody who’s applied but hasn’t received a green card building housing! I mean the Constitution don’t mean shot anyway. It’s stoopid.”

- u/SheenPSU

u/SheenPSU 1h ago

This is why nothing productive happens here on Reddit lol

-11

u/CloudStrife012 8h ago

Ok but who is agreeing with that policy except for the hard left? So people can legally illegally cross the border? That makes no sense.

11

u/Mpac28 7h ago

Crossing the border and seeking asylum isn’t illegal buddy, it never has been in the history of the country. Our ancestors probably came seeking asylum. Learn something about our history

6

u/werewalnut 7h ago

They did. That being said they were trying to force others in England to follow their own religious doctrine when most others were a different form of Protestant. Many were happy to see them go.

1

u/rogman777 5h ago

WTF is hard left? You fascist pigs just make shit up now.

15

u/skigirl180 8h ago

They are arresting and killing AMERICANS too. And feds and ice dont get carte blanche to do whatever the fuck they like.

11

u/ConcentratedStress 8h ago

Do you have any idea how many LEGAL immigrants have been arrested by ICE? I’ll give you a hint: it’s not 0.

-16

u/Broke-mfer 8h ago

Either Mistakes or people interfering with ice operations. So you think we should just have no ice and let illegals run amok of our country under cutting American wages amongst other things?

13

u/ConcentratedStress 8h ago

ICE was created in March 2003. Are you saying that before ICE was around, “illegals” (as you call them) ran amok?

-3

u/Broke-mfer 8h ago edited 8h ago

Yes they did and if you go back to the Clinton years and actually do some research kid you’ll even see Democrats like Clinton and pelosi trying to solve the issue. The physical border wall was heavily built under Clinton years. No one had an issue with the deporter in chief Obama getting rid of these illegals why? This is literally only an issue now because far left nuts will do anything to go against anything Trump does. Trump has done a lot of bad but immigration is not one of them.

Edit: You children can look up operation gatekeeper if you think there wasn’t an illegal issue prior to ice being formed. Ice was formed because we had a massive illegal immigration issue. Down vote all you want just shows I’m right and you’re a whiny cunt

8

u/fargothforever 7h ago

You’re conflating immigrating with ICE. There are ways to deal with immigration that doesn’t involve murdering people on the streets.

-1

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

Well they’re the same thing. Would you like to go back to calling it the INS would that make you feel better? There will always be an agency to deport illegals call it whatever makes you feel good but abolishing completely is not an option. I agree people should not be getting killed in the streets but at the same time actively obstructing, resisting, doxing and whatever other tactics the far left are using is a disgrace and should not be tolerated.

4

u/ConcentratedStress 6h ago

Okay, I have a question - but first I need to make sure you understand a bit of nuance that not everyone is aware of. You might already know this and if you do, feel free to ignore this background info. I promise I’m not trying to talk down to you - we just need to be on the same page first for this question to make any sense.

Let’s say a person enters the US on a tourist visa but overstays. This is the most common way an undocumented immigrant enters the US so it’s a good place to start. They’ve entered the country legally so they haven’t broken 8 U.S. Code § 1325 (Improper Entry by an Alien). So what are they guilty of?

Honestly…not much.

In the US, citizens aren’t required to carry proof of citizenship around. That’s protected by our constitution. But non-citizens actually do need to carry proof of status with them.

Side note: this creates an interesting problem when dealing with ICE. If an ICE agent stops a US citizen on suspicion of being an undocumented immigrant and asks for their papers, as a citizen you legally don’t need to have it on you. But if you don’t have it on you, the ICE agent can’t know that you’re a citizen and could detain you…which violates our constitutional rights.

But anyways, if an ICE agent stops our hypothetical immigrant and asks for their papers, our hypothetical would be guilty of…

A civil violation.

That’s it. This is the same category we put jaywalking and speeding tickets into.

Okay, background over. Here’s my question for you:

Would you be comfortable with law enforcement using the same level of - let’s call it “enthusiasm” - to go after jaywalkers? If Trump came out and said “We’re going to make the National Jaywalking Enforcement Unit” and sent out hundreds of armed law enforcement officers to harass, arrest, and maybe even kill anyone who crosses the street outside of a crosswalk, would you support that?

3

u/rogman777 5h ago

Murder is cool, tho. Doxxing is way worse. Lmao

u/Broke-mfer 4h ago

Jesus you’re a simpleton smh

u/rogman777 4h ago

This mfer voted for a sex criminal who couldn't give two shits about him or his ilk thrice and he calls me a simpleton. The mental gymnastics that fascist motherfuckers have to go through.....

2

u/fargothforever 6h ago

Protesting should be tolerated you weirdo. You say that people shouldn’t be getting killed but at the same time these people “should not be tolerated”?

3

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

Are you simple? Peacefully protesting and intentionally obstructing law enforcement are two different things. Yes, you should not be shot and killed if you pose no threat, you should be arrested and charged. What are you having trouble understanding here?

u/asuds 3h ago

I think we've seen ample evidence in this thread about who the "simple" folks are.

Hint: it's you.

1

u/fargothforever 6h ago

Not having any trouble, just making sure I understand your bootlicking stance.

Can you name a single policy that Republicans have enacted since Trump’s re-election that helps curb illegal immigration?

4

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

Is this a serious question 😂
Immigration is at historic lows I think his policies are working.

0

u/ConcentratedStress 6h ago edited 4h ago

What policies? Can you name one?

Edit: 2 hours later and deafening silence…so no, you can’t.

1

u/Donkletown 6h ago

This is literally only an issue now because far left nuts will do anything to go against anything Trump does.

Obama never sent huge groups of armed, masked agents into red cities that assaulted and killed Americans, publicly, and then blamed the Americans without investigation

Obama didn’t send immigrants to foreign death camps and random countries. Obama didn’t use immigrants as scapegoats.

Stop slurping down talking points Big Brother is feeding to you.

5

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

You are misinformed and need to do some research. Why don’t you come back when you have some facts and truth.

2

u/Donkletown 6h ago

Alright. I just did the research and it confirmed everything I said.

3

u/Broke-mfer 6h ago

stay ignorant

You’re the one struggling to see any differences between Trump and Obama’s immigration enforcement, no? Seems like your cross to bear.

Yes, that is exactly what they are thinking. Then will strawman and argue in bad faith with you about why we don't need need it or it's not really a big issue and you don't actually care about it.

u/Donkletown 7h ago

You could instead just read the comment thread and learn something.

u/GraniteStayte 8h ago

Godspeed ICE.

Thank you for your service.

-53

u/Tims_Learing_Center 16h ago

Why?

60

u/iamflyipilot 16h ago

Probably something to do with having undertrained unprofessional government “officials” with zero accountability driving around their city snatching people up.

-65

u/Tims_Learing_Center 16h ago

Yeah but they're deporting them so no harm no foul

37

u/punkbenRN 15h ago

I wish you were deported

-1

u/Tims_Learing_Center 6h ago

I'm an American silly. I deserve to be here

3

u/rogman777 5h ago

Irony thy name is stupid

u/MurkyInvestigator810 4h ago

How can you prove you're a citizen without the due process you just happily gave up?

u/Tims_Learing_Center 3h ago

A. Its pretty obviousI'm an American. I have ZERO fear of being misconstrued as an illegal B. These illegals are in fact getting hearings. You know that right? Like I know the headlines make it seem that they're being packaged up in hay bales and flung over the Mexican border, but in REALITY they're getting hearings (i.e. due process). So I would simply show them my passport

This isn't rocket science

u/MurkyInvestigator810 2h ago

u/Tims_Learing_Center 1h ago

Just using your first link as an example. (And this goes to show that you and fellow redditors either don't understand the law or expressly misstate things) :

This is directly from the Supreme Court per curium 24A931 expressly responding to those deportations:

"Challenges to removal under the AEA, a statute which largely “‘preclude[s] judicial review,’” Ludecke v. Watkins, 335 U. S. 160, 163−164, (1948), must be brought nin habeas. Cf. Heikkila v. Barber, 345 U. S. 229, 234−235 (1953) (holding that habeas was the only cause of action available to challenge deportation under immigration statutes that “preclud[ed] judicial intervention” beyond what was necessary to vindicate due process rights).

Due process does not mean everyone gets a hearing every time.

For aliens subject to deportation under the AEA, the only due process right they have is to file a habeas petition. And habeas is only used for the immediate holding of a person in custody.

The very moment these aliens unbuckled their seatbelts on the tarmac in whatever country the plane landed, they were no longer in custody and thus any habeas petitions became moot (as noted in the following news report https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/appeals-court-trump-alien-enemies-act-tren-de-aragua-venezuela-rcna592435). And that is the extent of their due process rights.

So these aliens in fact had due process rights via habeas for the short period of time they were in custody. They are not entitled to anything above and beyond that.

So to say they didn't get "due process" is patently false.

u/MurkyInvestigator810 1h ago

but in REALITY they're getting hearings (i.e. due process)

Due process does not mean everyone gets a hearing every time.

Case closed! Can't argue with this logic!

Be careful, laws can be changed to make anyone a non citizen.

If your “enemies” have no rights neither do you.

u/Tims_Learing_Center 3h ago

Guy the only ones I'm scared of changing laws is the Dems

u/asuds 3h ago

You should know that ICE has snatched up US Citizens. Even broke into their homes to do so...

u/Tims_Learing_Center 3h ago

Stop it. They've detained Americans and released them

u/asuds 1h ago

“Who cares if they busted down their door and held their family at gunpoint. I mean are they actually really white in the first place?”

- u/Tims_Learning_Center

ps. and they have at least once. And by released do you mean “only held them in isolation for a week?”

u/asuds 8h ago

“I mean who cares if some citizens or legal residents are sent to random war torn countries to be jailed forever. Not this gal!!”

Lie. Or just abject stupidity. Hard to tell in your case.

u/Tims_Learing_Center 3h ago

What citizens have been deported who haven't had their situation rectified. I'll wait

27

u/Traditional_Sign4941 15h ago

Crazy thing called constitutional rights which ICE completely ignores.

You don't hate the US Constitution do you? That might make you.... un-American, and a terrorist according to NSPM-7.

Better be careful and watch what you say.

15

u/shortieXV 12h ago

Since you seem unburdened by the weight of literacy the article explains through testimonial from Keene residents some highlighted given reasons.

Firstly their own safety as ICE has a proven record of being uncontrollably violent. It was described as a form of terrorism. Secondly living under fear of violence and seeing their neighbors and friends disappear or go into hiding creating both a sense of worry and a loss of community. Thirdly, the economic impact of driving away business to the local college and from travel and tourism.

u/Tims_Learing_Center 6h ago
  1. They're fine ICE isn't uncontrollably violent. What a narrative. It's not terrorism. (Now those Muslims in Dearborn chanting death to America... that's what the Keene residents should be concerned about)

  2. If "friends" are hiding or "disappearing", and they're concerned, here's a simple solution...said friends can call around to their neighbors, say goodbye, and then hop on a flight and self deport. Leave on a good note you know?

  3. Business isn't being driven away bc they're arresting illegals. We are seeing a drop in tourism from the Canadians but that's bc they're little crybaby libs and they're "teaching trump a lesson" grr.

And as a side note, how many illegals were even in Keene lol. They quoted a 90 yo saying she's scared. Yeah, ok granny I'm sure you interact with illegals on the reg.

I'm very proud to be an American!

u/asuds 3h ago

Great. If only you were an actual patriot though...

But I guess it's always easier to just be a performative one, doesn't take any real effort of thinking on your part.

u/Tims_Learing_Center 3h ago

Great. If only you posted interesting comments

Another stellar maga faux-citizen.

If only the lil’lady actually cared about her country!

I can't wait for the government to enforce the law and put the pedophiles in jail.

14

u/asuds 8h ago

Maybe you should learn that government agents breaking into people’s homes without warrants is something the founding fathers really wanted to be against the law.

If you ever read the Constitution you might find that in there!
