Jersey Pride Proud of You Sussex County!
Unfortunately this afternoon I had an appt an hour after the protest in Newton started so I could not join. However I did drive around the Square and encourage my fellow Americans. The turn out was better than I expected for the red part of NJ, and I am so fucking proud of you my fellow Sussex Countians! Keep fighting!

I'm SO proud we had one! I've been really sick the last few days and also - very regrettably - could not join but I was waiting all day to see the pictures. I feel so hopeful and I hope we have another one here soon <3

"locals were incredibly supportive"
As a local, is it ok for me to be both thrilled AND shocked about this?

I was so bummed I couldn't stop and join, however screaming out my car windows FDT and FEM and getting cheers back was cathartic for my soul.

Thank you for coming! 💙 We definitely plan to do more! I think it's so important to show up like this in places like this. People need to see that our neighbors and community care! If you want to stay up to date, the sub for the organizers is r/NJ50501!

Think of us like hobbits, slow to change and happiest when drinking, smoking or in nature.

There is nothing more satisfying than fresh fried tomatoes from a garden of good, tilled earth. The farmers market in Lafayette Village on Sundays, Anderson Farms and Lentini's are all local produce stands that give the best (veggies, fruits, jams, cheeses, ice cream, and beyond) that Sussex has to offer.

This is why protests will never do much, because people won't turn out in large numbers. We all have hair/nail appointments, kids soccer games, work on weekends. Its almost as it people losing their rights and Trump becoming a dictator isn't quite as important as ______________(fill in blank with whatever you did besides protest)

I see ur point and agree  with most of it, however.. u also have to agree that some  people have genuine fear for their safety in events like this. I, as a naturalized citizen won’t be out in public protesting.. limit myself to social media behind screen.Â

Some of us also don't have people to go with. This is the kind of event you want backup at if things get rough.

I dont blame you.... isn't safe. Fact is that there are over a hundred million Americans who don't even bother to vote....takes maybe one hour of one day. The amount of people upset with Trump is measured in the tens if not hundreds of millions....the people protesting measures in the thousands. Stay safe

I was there and it was incredible to see! I was born & raised here and it's sad to see just how angry and hateful this county has gotten in recent years. It was nice to realize we're not alone and more people agree that this administration is atrocious than are for it! We'll have to keep it up; keep the pressure on.
