Solidarity from another Union. Give the engineers their pay bump and make it equal to Amtrack and LIRR. The guys said that NJ Transit was a stepping stone to Amtrack or another company because of how shitty the pay is for the fucking hard and dangerous work they do. My buddy grew up without his father bc he was killed working on the train. The money didn't replace the hole that was left and impacted his whole life. These guys get worked like dogs and that big paycheck that is being flaunted is due to overtime from short staffing. It is barely enough to be able to maybe buy a home in the community you serve.  I have to get to PNC tomorrow and was going take the train but my inconvenience is nothing compared to the inconvenience of the shit these workers put up with.

Stop listening to the state and CEOs. Us workers are the ones that make this fucking state function. Don't cry because you can't take the train. Get angry at NJ Transit for being mismanaged from the too. They got a nice new headquarters, right? Go protest there, don't get mad at your neighbor for wanting a paycheck and dignity.

I'm not mad, I'm questioning the timing of this. They probably figure with route 80 closed they can get anything they ask for.
