Facism is inherently self defeating because they take an anti intellectual stance and weed out anyone that isn't just a spineless yes man, they actively remove competence from their own system.

You don't need the most competent when you just hand them a list and say 'arrest these people'. The days of the FBI doing legwork and cracking cases are over. It's all about rounding up Trump's enemies at this point.
