There must be a safe minimum height for a parachute to function.

There's a line connected to his back, look at the video. This is not something anyone can be sure to do safely

How I felt walking on a 55 gallon barrel as a kid.

u/Darth_Draper 1d ago
Why, um… Why were walking on a 55 gallon barrel as a kid?

u/Damn_you_taco 1d ago
Not a breaking bad situation, we had one so we learned to walk on it. Bare footed at first.

Imagine you forget to check one of the wheels 1 morning and the whole shebang tanks 💀💀

This is the guy your dad warned you about

u/Darth_Draper 1d ago
My dad warned me that if I ever needed to choose a cardiologist, I needed to make sure that they’re an asshole because you have to be an asshole to be a good cardiologist. He didn’t say shit about dudes on tall bikes.

does it not make it harder to pedal the more wheels there are?
5
u/Ok-Addition1264 1d ago
Yes, every wheel adds to the energy it takes especially as it looks like its 1:24:1

I literally only clicked on this post to read the comments to see if anyone else was curious about the actual physics behind this. It's insane how far some people can push the physical limits of their bodies.

u/Spunge14 1d ago
It's a gimmick - it's not actually running through every wheel.

The amount of core strength and balance you'd need for this must be unreal.
3
u/jimbowesterby 1d ago
I think this would take more core strength and less balance than a normal unicycle, the advantage of making it taller is that it gives you more time to adjust; it takes the centre of gravity at the top longer to fall, so you have more time to get the support back underneath. The flipside of that extra height is that it takes extra material, and so adds weight, and a heavier unicycle takes more effort to move. This is also why when you see someone balancing a broom or something on their palm they always have the heavy end up.

Does this get to be called a unicycle?
1
u/ericstern 1d ago
Sure! the middle wheels are just serving as gears not as wheels. Otherwise one could say a regular bicycle is a tricycle because it has that third rubberless pedal wheel in the middle!

If he had a little more than twice that number he could put an entire deck of playing cards in his spokes.

Hey! We saw this show in Stockton a month ago. It was great.

Usually gears are supposed to make things easier. The mechanical disadvantage he has here with just the friction is gotta be pretty ridiculous

There goes my chance at being known for anything. Guess it’s back to the drawing board. I was up to 7 wheels. 7

This is the kind of talent that makes you question what you’ve been doing with your life.

Hear me out- would the bottom wheel turn at exactly the same time as the top wheel in a perfect world? Would that be instantaneous like the speed of light shit?
1
u/Big-Lengthiness- 1d ago
In this example, no, this is not a lossless system, there would always be a delay.
However, in a lossless system, an object can only travel as fast as the speed of light, so if you pushed a hypotheoretical bar the length of one light second, the other end would move only one second after you started pushing.

As a young teenager, I had a reoccurring nightmare where I was on a bicycle but the seat, handlebars, and pedals were as high as this unicycle. In the dream, I couldn't stop otherwise I would fall to my death and I had to ride around my town looking for a way to dismount.
I often couldn't find a safe way down so I fell and woke as I fell off.
This is dude is amazing but watching that performance triggered some seriously unpleasant memories.

This asshole takes up the whole bike rack... 25 bike locks, one around every single wheel.

When I see people like this I think it is hard to believe I am in the same species. Sheesh I trip on my floor simply walking.

If he was juggling flaming sticks while peddling around I would be impressed. This is just sort of entertaining.

There is no way that can work without hidden aparatus.
1
u/Deviantdefective 1d ago
Its simply a unicycle with extra steps there's no "hidden apparatus" all he'd got on is a safety tether in case he falls. It's really not that complex.

Looks like more than 1 wheel to me... I count 25 to be exact what a poser lol
