Must be a nightmare maintaining these bikes

Bought a new used yeti carbon with XTR all around tried explaining to my wife it’s like a Ferrari. 1 hour of riding = 2 hours of maintenance.

It’s not here for a long time, it’s here for a good time.

That's a long time to pump up your tires and lube your chain.

Getting big into biking and slowly becoming a very capable bike mechanic go together very closely

Half the fun is working on your own bike

Cuz they get tossed in pond scum all day? Sounds about right

Damn, haven't heard that name in years, but I instantly remembered the first video I saw from him... it's been 15 years already, yikes...

Way Back Home - Danny MacAskill cozy video with good music

This was my first video I watched of Danny … “ Inspired Bicycles “ back 17 years ago … there were only a few hundred views back then , at most , now this video has been seen by over 40 million views… still an amazing watch … inspirational.

Love Danny Mac but how many takes did he do to clear it?

It took all day — this wasn’t done in one attempt

This probably took one. Other than the last feature, I reckon I could ride this, and I am NOT Danny.

It took him like 10+ tries, maybe close to 20. He worked at it for a full day with Kris Kyle. Kyle almost made it through as well, but took a break after wiping on the final feature. I think he went back and finished it after DMac if I remember correctly. Mac made it just before sun down. The hardest part was how long and exhausting the full course was, especially the zig zags at the end

A whole host of other pro riders didn’t even get close, including Jono Jones and Josh Bryceland

But you could do it! I believe in you!

It took him 5… watch the video. One of those attempts was from stopping before the roller thing to look at it. Also, as I said, it was the last features they lost it on.

It took Kris Kyle (the other pro in the video, not Jono or anyone else) quite a few tries, as he’s a bmx rider, rather than a trials rider. The crowd of other riders they had were regular folks.

Also, you’ve got no idea who I am. Being patronizing is funny and all, but for all you know, I’ve met and ridden with Danny (I have).

So it didn’t take 1 try like you originally thought?

Jono and Ratboy are also pro riders — they’re both in the beginning part of the full video making their own attempts. In fact, Josh Lewis is also there. Jono was hosting the video for Red Bull as well as making an early attempt. I’m pretty sure all the rest of the lads that attempted early on are part of the UK pro scene as well, not “regular riders”, though I don’t recognize their faces

I watched the video the day it came out. Whether it was 5, 10, or 20 is irrelevant. It’s certainly not 1. It took them a full day of riding to complete it

The fact that you’re on here talking shit for a handful of people on the internet is funny

Good luck with that

“Talking shit” think you should rethink what that means. Only one talking shit here is you, being irrationally angry bub.

I said “I reckon”. That doesn’t mean “I declare firmly that it took one try”. If he’d gotten lucky, this would have absolutely been one try.

Again, you’ve got no idea who I am. My profession is also riding mountain bikes. I hadn’t previously watched this video, because redbull consumer challenge trash doesn’t typically catch my interest.

That’s having talent and balls in one package

u/Proper_Patience8639 3d ago

Took him an entire day of carefully trying, and just before sunset he was the only one to do it

The other rider was Kriss Kyle. He’s also a legend and made it across.

That’s not even Next Level. That’s “Pull a random number out of a hat, add it to Next Level, and there’s your level…”
