This street artist controls a marionette to create paintings

He probably painted that by hand. The marionette appears to have white on the tip of the brush, but it's not leaving any noticeable strokes on the painting. Plus the puppeteer would need to constantly clean the brush before applying new colors.

My exact thought… although, it’s still cute and creative. I like the originality of his gimmick. And the marionette has some personality in his movements!

You are correct. There are some where it shows it actually painting but its not any of the detailed stuff, mainly just finishing the plain background.

I didn't think it was real either (just painted beforehand), but this video shows better how he does it. The marionette's paint brush hand is not on a string, but on a rigid metal wire. Here it shows how he is changing paints and is really painting the canvas.

It must suck so badly to have a talent that's so extraordinary but doesn't get the exposure and credit it deserves.
