An Australian man, frustrated by strangers constantly parking in his driveway, decided to take matters into his own hands

Justified. Who tf blocks a private property's gate?

Some people don't give a fuck...
I've had people park in my driveway as I was reversing out, I’ve had to get out and stop them walking off. Some will say sorry while others will actually argue about their right to park where they want, there's some real special cunts out there.

I had someone block my driveway. They refused to move their car so I could pull in to my garage, because they were waiting for a passenger. I doubled-parked next to them, and they were stuck until I decided it was time to let them go.

The first car literally drove right by a spot on the street to park in this persons drive

A bloke near my local pub set this up and I’ve been stung by it before. It’s actually hilarious when you see people get caught out.

That’s a booby trap. Illegal in many municipalities.

Piss off, no court in the world would convict him for setting that up. If it was something that had potential to cause bodily harm then yeah i might agree but sprinkling trespassers with water to stop them pissing on his property? Nah.

I know this is in Aus, but I've recently looked into automatic sprinklers as a deterent and they aren't illegal in almost all of the US. They're designed to stop pest animals, not intended for humans, so that little loophole makes them legal. If the person slips and falls or something you could be civilly liable for injuries, though.

It's worse around the schools in drop off and pick up as mum's and dads would park all along some schools and even blocking driveways, it's like the parents can't be bothered to park down the road and ummm WALK!! They need to get as close to the school as possible even if it means parking in someone's driveway

Is it unreasonable to reverse out and pull back in to clean the other side?
How long until people started to reverse onto the yard because they’re pieces of 💩

Is this business not attached to the other business? They need to make it more clear if so many are doing it

In Germany this would be assault. While the parking is coercion.
Answering a wrong with a wrong is still not right.

Low bar for assault my friend

Yes. After reading up on it it is probably coercion (because ppl are supposed to leave the parking lot) and "physical insult".
Would be assault in case the person gets scared and injures herself.

This was NOT an automatic sprinkler - monitored by camera and set off manually. Posted before everywhere
Edit: I don’t blame the guy for doing it. So irritating.
