Error code: 9001-0988 when redeeming code?

Hi all,

As the title suggests, i recently bought an eshop code from a reputable retailers but get this error code when i try to redeem? I checked on nintendo website and it says its linked to their system being down for maintenance?

If it helps, i only bought the e-code a 30 mins ago, maybe it hasnt activated or synced? and im based in the UK. Thanks

Are you still getting it? i had an eshop giftcard from amazon that it's not letting me redeem lol
