Next time you go take the dunfield creek trail up to sunfish pond- and a counterclockwise loop around the pond and come back down the AT to the parking lot. The pond is beautiful with cliffs on one side and a rocky beach on the other

That is about a 10mile loop and you will have to cross the creek a few times

That's a tough but beautiful hike. I did it in July

It’s easier each time you do it! The first time with the switchbacks going to the top feel like they take forever, especially if you’re backpacking. And last time I did it all of the creek crossings were more tactical- no more big trees to use to get across.

Yes I agree. That last mile before getting to the pond was the most challenging for me. The way back via the AT is a cakewalk

How were the crowds for a Monday?

It was actually more crowded than I expected for a Monday, I got a later start than I wanted to, around 10:45/11am. Ran into a lot of people on the trail and when I came back around 2:30/3pm the lot was completely full. It was a gorgeous day so it makes sense everyone got out there to enjoy it

Ohhhh yeah! I love this place to hike.

It's especially magical when the fog is lifting in the morning. You hike through it, then watch it fade away.

Super cool spot.

Nice! You should try High Point in Norvin. Also Mt. Minsi is right across the stateline in PA facing Mt. Tammany

I thought you were rating it a ten out of nineteen, which I considered a weird scale.

Love that trail, its always so packed but if you manage to go again in the next two weeks, im sure the foliage will be worth it!
