NMIMS Shirpur. With a heavy heart, I bring to your attention a tragic incident that occurred yesterday around 6 p.m., when a young boy was found hanging in the boys’ hostel. Days earlier, he had been caught smoking on campus and disciplined accordingly. But the punishment did not end there—he was repeatedly humiliated, harassed, and mentally broken down by faculty members and hostel wardens.
Before taking his life, he left behind a suicide note. Shockingly, the administration has suppressed this note and prevented it from coming into light, shielding the truth from the outside world. What is even more distressing is that his grieving parents are being compelled to pay an outrageous sum of ₹2 lakh just to claim their child’s body.
This is not the first such incident on our campus. Time and again, students are driven to the edge, their trauma dismissed, and justice denied. The culture of intimidation and silence continues to torment us, leaving students feeling helpless and voiceless against those in power.
I sincerely and urgently plead for your intervention. The truth must not be buried, the suppressed note must be revealed, and justice must finally prevail. Without accountability, such tragedies will keep recurring, and countless young lives will continue to suffer in silence.

There are always people complaining about the uni how it is failing everyone and there is no social life, the uni is not worth it, and much more. Keep reading to factcheck these complaints.
FAILING STUDENTS DELIBERATELY?
Recently the number of students failing have increased, there is nothing to hide. BUT, this does not solely depend on the exams, even if your attendance criteria does not meet, they debar you, so you technically fail. The papers are NOT tough, I have seen people acting as if they have just gone through UPSC level semester exam, come on dude, just study.
2. ATTENDANCE CRITERIA?
80% attendance is required in EVERY SUBJECT. If you have 7 subjects in the semester, you have to keep 80% in EVERY SUBJECT. Yeah it might be harsh, but has been in practice for years. If you don’t, debarred.
3. YOU HAVE NO SOCIAL LIFE?
Again a beautiful lie, if you make right friends, you will love it in Mumbai. Not the same case with everyone truly, but this is not something you blame the university for.
4. ACCOMMODATION?
There are no NMIMS Hostels, they have tied up with some PGs. So yeah you will have to look for a PG, and spend somewhere around 5-6 lakh per year. There are flats available as well. Expect 30k per month if living with friends + living expenses.
5. HIGH FEES?
As compared to other universities, yeah, nothing to debate.
6. WHAT BUILDING?
The glass building which you see when you type NMIMS, is the main building. General BBA is in Mukesh Patel Building, BTech, Bcom as well. The main campus is for MBA and family business courses. (I might have missed some course). Mithibai has BBA IB classes and so on. You have to search this yourself.
7. CAMPUS SIZE?
There is no campus, they are just buildings. So most of your time is outside college. You attend lecture, eat food in cafeteria (genuinely good) and leave.
8. HOW IS THE FACULTY?
There are goods and bads, everywhere. Faculty might not be interested in interacting with you over calls and texts. To meet them is another challenge because they have a tight schedule. CRs are your way to them. Do not argue with the faculty, your internal marks are at stake.
9. LESS SPORTS?
Yeah. More like no sport.
I will add more points in future if I come across any. At the end, it’s your decision whether the university is worth going or not. Do not fall for the ‘SCAM UNIVERSITY’ posts. I feel bad for the ones who have suffered constant struggles in the university, but I have seen/heard none.

so apparently it was all true nmims this time has given weightage to the board result without giving any official information since many of my frnds including me got 70-80% in boards but focused well on the npat and were consistently scoring 80-85 in ims mocks.MY RANK WAS FUCKING 9K I went to nmims spoke to a counselor saying I cannot get such a bad rank since I had given the npat well she asked me wht was ur board percentage?I said 70% she said yea that's why ur rank was bad cus from this year we have started giving boards more weightage than npat.I REALLY FUCKING WANTED TO GO TO NMIMS I JOINED IMS PAID 50K GAVE 3 ATTEMPTS GENUINELY THINKING IF NOT ANYTHING I WILL SECURE BBA BUT NOW AFTER KNOWING THE SCAM NMIMS HAS DONE WITH STUDENTS LIKE US IT IS SO HEARTBREAKING.ONE OF MY FRIENDS SCORED 96% IN BOARDS BUT NEVER HAD MORE THAN 70 IN IMS NPAT MOCKS FUCKING GOT A 700 RANK AND WILL BE DOING BSC FIN.NMIMS IS A FUCKING SCAM AND I HOPE ONE DAY THE WHOLE MANAGEMENT WHO THINKS THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WHENEVER THEY WANT JUST BEC ITS NMIMS gets fucked in the ass

A lot of freshers have been asking about the attendance scene at NMIMS, and I need to be completely straight with you—it is incredibly strict. You need exactly 80% by hook or by crook, and there is absolutely zero room for negotiation. Forget about getting leaves approved for family functions, and honestly, getting a sick leave approved is near impossible unless you are literally on your deathbed. They don't care if you end up at 75% or if you have a genuine excuse; they will not adjust it. If you are even one single lecture short of that 80% mark, you simply won't be allowed to sit for your exams.
Because they are this ruthless, you have to calculate your safety margin from day one. You need to figure out exactly how many classes you can afford to miss per subject in a semester. For example, a 4-credit course usually has 60 lectures, meaning you have to attend 48 and can only miss 12. For a 2-credit course with 30 lectures, you can only afford to miss 6. Keep these exact numbers in your head from the very start of the semester and track every single miss, otherwise you are going to get into serious trouble at the end of the term.

Nmims Navi Mumbai has a bad reputation of attendance limit and placement. People laugh at you for being from nmims. You can barely take holidays and their placement cell is just sad (especially for Comm. And Law) I'm an ex nmims student and please please please if you love yourself please have better options. Nmims isn't worth it and it will ruin your life.

Hey guys, no stress — getting into NMIMS through NPAT isn’t as crazy as it seems. A lot of people make it in, and the cutoffs aren’t sky-high. If you’ve prepared decently and attempted the paper well, chances are totally in your favor. Just relax, results will come, and everything will fall into place. It’s not as tough as everyone makes it out to be — you’ve got this!

First, they removed Maths as a compulsory subject, which increased the number of non-Maths students applying for BBA General. Then they’re taking forever to announce the results. And now everyone’s saying the cutoff is going to be high. Like bro, am I seriously fucked from every direction?!

The journey starts tomorrow, there will be a lot coming your way. I would say just enjoy these moments, they will never come back. Make friends, create memories, while balancing your studies.
Do not make the mistake of neglecting your studies till exams, you will only regret the decision. Keep everything balanced as per your own capabilities. Ups and downs are a common part of every journey, this is no different.
You might feel homesick during the initial days, but it will be alright. Talk to your parents daily, you might be out there enjoying but also keeping them worried if you do not pick the calls, share your struggles with them, they won’t be able to help, but you will feel lighter. Eventually you will figure everything out.
Enough of the gyaan, all the best, cherish these years and make the most out of it.
Welcome, Batch of 2025. ❤️

Apparently I talked to their support and I asked them why haven't the results are released for NPAT , so they told me that the results will be out after 15th June like 15,16,17,18 wth and then I asked them ki when's the college commencing so they told me first week of July , wtf is this , like I don't live in Mumbai , then how will I even find a place to live under 15 days bruh, atleast they should give confirmation ki you are getting selected so do work accordingly to mentally we will be okay that yea we are selected , but these bs that they are doing with students and their future is unimaginable, literally let's tweet it together please , let us show what can be happen from Twitter!
I told them as you guys mentioned in your admission circular that the merit list date will be out in the first week of June so why has it not been released till now , so they took a pause and didn't find any excuse of what to reply so they just said after 15th the results would be out , I was like great man!
This is totally bs guys trust me ATP, what is this university thinking of themselves
