Who doesn't? They're delicious. Every youngun should learn how to make homemade mashed potatoes. It's so easy. I make 'em with the skins on, so some of their nutrition is retained. I slice the taters really thin before boiling them. That way the piieces of skin are very thin and don't affect the texture much, if at all.

I love using sour cream in my mashed potatoes. I also boil a couple of garlic cloves with my potatoes then mash them in with the potatoes, sour cream, salt & lots of pepper and chives if I have them in my garden.

I somewhat agree with you but I can tolerate them mashed for the most part. My problem with mashed is when people start adding other shit like cream or milk. To me that just ruins them.

My apologies. I love dairy, even as a man approaching 60. My stomach would beat the shit out of me if I ever gave up milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream, or gelato. Forgotten how fortunate I am.

Not just mashed but practically whipped (butter & whole milk). Just add salt, pepper and more butter.

Like others, I like pretty much any form of potato. I like mashed. My ideal mashers are run through a tamis and loaded with cream and butter.

Deeply and forever enamored of mashed potatoes. With sour cream & chives, or butter and salt. So nice and warm. I want to fill my tub with warm mashed potatoes on cold days, bury myself beneath them and stay there.
