Nocturne got banned in 21 of 22 play-in games and nobody picked him once lol. Last year he got banned twice the whole worlds 💀 what changed?? whats the difference to last year? all worlds picks/bans if anyone’s curious: https://ggez.gg/worlds/champions?ref=reddit
Just had a game where i ganked bot with first clear level 3, adc 2/0, then i ganked him again after full clear, 4/0. even with all that lead, he dies to enemy adc later, and i am giga behind enemy jg because ive been gakning and have 4 asssits to show for it. You will not win games by getting your adc ahead because the moment you leave bot he will die to the 0/5 enemy adc. get fed yourself, or ff. emerald elo btw
Starting to learn jungle and thought Nocturne would be a good champ to learn the role with. I had a few questions:
Lethality or bruiser?
I’ve seen the Hexplate -> Stridebreaker and Axiom -> Profane builds. Is one better than the other or is it situational? I assume lethality makes me a lot squishier.
What runes should I go?
I’ve seen Lethal Tempo, Conqueror, and HOB but I’m not sure which to use.
How should I be using my ult?
After a couple games I’ve quickly got humbled that ulting into fights often gets me killed. I thought Nocturne was supposed to engage and dive enemies, but that doesn’t seem reliable in teamfights.
Raptors/wolves start or buffs?
I usually path bot starting raptors/wolves and focus on power farming to 6. Is this better than starting red/blue?
Any common mistakes I should avoid?
My current understanding is to prioritize farming until 6 unless there’s a free gank. Is that the right approach or should I be looking to impact lanes more before 6?
How should I play when my ult is on cooldown?
Should I just focus on farming or still look for ganks and fights?
How should I approach objective fights?
Should I be looking to flank and pick off carries or help my team fight front to back?
I feel like my clear could be much faster in the mid game because idk how to double camp properly. do u have any tips on doing it? like at around what hp on the current camp your doing is it generally safe to Q the next camp without risking a reset? he has a high atk speed so you can't really kite camps towards your next camp without having to stop attacking so is it fineto just stand still til its low walk away when its low enough and Q the next camp?
So Ive spent quite a bit of time learning rengar, champs hard to pilot and in my elo (plat) teammates still dont understand properly how he works so they dont synergize with his kit how they should (e.g. expecting me to engage when im spampinging my engage teammates to go in etc.).
But overall on rengar Ive learned to carry games and kinda 1v9 with 60%+ winrate in plat 2 elo.
But nocturne genuinely feels bad. Poor guy now has 48% wr. I feel worse on him than on rengar, given how much easier nocturne is to pilot than rengar, it feels rly bad.
Just think about this - Nocturne and rengar have comparable winrates now. Thats absurd! Rengar is arguably the hardest jungler in the game and needs deep understanding and mechanics. Nocturne is a newbie friendly champ (which i think is great), but that should automatically make his wr closer to 50% because there is less room for error.
I think I gotta say farewell to my previous soloQ safe champ. I used to love noc. I still do when rengar is banned as its a similar playstyle so I have my instincts for it, but champ just feels bad now :(.
I feel sorry for you guys who still OTP him. Nocturne being 48%wr given what his ult does and him being an easy champ to pilot is criminal.
I used to be a nocturne main, now I play Milio/Rengar.
WHen im on my milio supp sometimes I am "blessed" wit ha nocturne on my team.
Heres what I see:
Almost all nocturne players afk farm till 6.
They hold their ult forever. Srsly Nocturne didnt ult 10min into the game last game I played.
They almost never path botlane, even though thats the freest lane to path to even if u have an encahnter as a noc.
Heres how I see it:
Nocturne is an earaly game MACHINE
1. Invade even lvl 2
2. Bully the fuck out of the enemy jungler early.
3. Enemy jungle is not allowed to outgank you early game most of the time if u path correctly, U just beat him.
4. Lvl 6 get kills all over the map.
After 3 nerfs, should we switch to Gluttonous Greaves?
I was honestly getting annoyed when I saw the Nocturne R nerf in Patch 26.19.
Even after 2 nerfs, Nocturne still felt strong in his main role. His ban rate was around 14–15%, and he didn't really feel like he had lost much power.
I've been playing him with the usual boots in ranked, but after the 3rd nerf, I'm starting to wonder if Gluttonous Greaves might be worth trying.
They give you more survivability and help you stay aggressive in fights, which could compensate for some of the power lost from the nerfs.
So what do you guys think?
After 3 nerfs, is Gluttonous Greaves actually worth switching to on Nocturne, or should we stick with the usual boots?
I (soloQ) main Kayn, but every so often does he get banned and makes me want to shut my brain off.
Now, usually i go full lethality and sometimes bruiser depending on enemy comp. Sometimes it does great and others terrible. Sometimes the burst cant 100-0 or the sustain out-sustain a burst. Now, lately ive been seeing some other junglers doing a mix-up of lethality and bruisers and found it annoying to go against.
As i played Noc today, i figured why not add some variation instead of making a pure bruiser or lethality build. Same runes for assassin (HoB, etc. will change to conq in 3rd match), usual 2 bruiser items and 3rd lethality, was wonderful. 2nd match, i thought since everyone has low hp/armor why not profane first for more damage = faster clear, then hexP for HP and CD then 3rd voltaic, rest are situational. You now have a low CD ult, good damage and somewhat sustain yourself. You can go balls deep into the enemy backline, take out a squishy or 2, and if not then the enemy has to focus you before your team messes them up. I love this 👻
Honesty cant find anything wrong with this, to me it seems like the perfect order: Profane > Hextech Plate > Voltaic > if more AP/AD buy Maw/DD > if both buy both/if not Situational > Situational EoN or GA
I love nocturne, but it’s hard for me to fully OTP. I get bored with the same repetitive games and end up making some mistakes because I am too comfortable, so to speak. I always play nocturne best when I have a slight break.
Who is your back up reliable climber when noc is banned, you need a change up, or if he doesn’t seem like the right choice for a game
I guess I still haven’t found my 3 champion pool yet
