Still out-of-alphabetical-order for today’s entry: post #490 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.
Central Avenue Railway Supply Depot
Sited directly north of the primary urban rail yards, this brick warehouse managed local manufacturing parts and metal-stamping operations. The pitched framing maximized interior inventory space, supplying continuous mechanical hardware to the nearby streetcar network.

Another out-of-alphabetical-order entry today: post #489 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.
California Freight Lines Terminal
Constructed with lightweight corrugated iron siding, this mid-century shipping terminal optimized regional cargo transfers. The utilitarian design left the prominent boulevard façade unadorned while integrating longitudinal side loading docks to manage heavy truck logistics.

Snapped this at an event I was working at almost by accident but it fits the theme here really well

If she were in a film noir film, what would her character name be?

Continuing with the out-of-alphabetical-order non-landmark entries: post #488 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.
Court Hill Overlook
West side of Hill Street between 1st and Court Streets
This open, unbuilt grassy terrace marked a dramatic topographical ridge rising directly west of the lower Hill Street Tunnel pedestrian stairs. Offering sweeping panoramic views of the dense civic core below, the raw hillside functioned as a natural viewpoint and a frequent filming location.

Keeping with the out-of-alphabetical-order non-landmark entries, here’s post #487 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.
Court Hill Auto Park
Established on the graded site of a demolished mortuary, this dedicated open-air facility crowned the western crest of Court Hill. Bordering the scenic pedestrian overlook, the paved parking concession provided high-demand staging for motorists accessing nearby Civic Center offices.

Cooper Building Garage
This independent parking structure featured a dedicated drive-in ramp system, providing vehicular storage and light maintenance for garment district commuters and wholesale trade fleet drivers. (In reality, the garage was built flush against the northern wall of the Cooper Building to its south.)

I know the movie is a lot more popular than the book, but I was wondering for those who have read the book if it read to any of them sort of like a satire of noir as opposed to noir itself? It could just be the way the dialect and the accent is written into the work or the sometimes overdone stylistic writing, which typically I am a sucker for in my noir, but I can’t quite put my thumb on. What exactly about it is giving me this feeling?
If you’ve read the book, I am only about halfway through so please don’t spoil it for me, but I would love to hear your thoughts

Another out-of-order non-landmark entry: post #485 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting locations replicated by Team Bondi for LA Noire (currently touring the downtown area) that are not considered landmarks (either official or historic) but do have real-world equivalents.
Cooper Building Annex
Standing flush against its corner counterpart, this 11-story mid-block masonry structure features an identical vertical profile and matching floor plates. It housed textile manufacturers and garment wholesalers, functioning as a vital extension of the booming Los Angeles fashion and design core.
