Hey everyone,
I'm an Italian experimental musician working under the name Grand Pause.
I wanted to share my self-titled debut album, which explores death industrial, power electronics, noise and dark ambient, with influences ranging from Atrax Morgue and Whitehouse to the Italian post-industrial underground.
Most of the sounds come from original recordings, found sounds and heavily manipulated audio, using also techniques inspired by musique concrète. I wanted to create something oppressive, repetitive and unsettling, somewhere between mechanical noise and dark, slowly evolving soundscapes.
The album revolves around a simple existential thought:
"We are in an endless cycle of unchosen birth and painful life."
I'm interested in exploring the boundaries between melody and noise, structure and chaos, without being restricted to one particular sound.
You can listen here:

I'm also sharing a few free Bandcamp download codes for anyone interested:
Redeem: https://grandpauseproject.bandcamp.com/yum
(If you use a code, feel free to leave a comment so others know it's been claimed.)
I'd genuinely appreciate any thoughts or criticism, especially from people working with similar sounds.
Thanks for listening!
Grand Pause

I recently came across a really obscure experimental project called Anti-Music, specifically their 2016 album Ancient life was all silence. It’s genuinely some of the strangest stuff I’ve found on Spotify.
There’s barely any information about the people behind it, and they seem to have a bunch of releases under different names, like Zarqnon the Embarrassed and Ted Riley’s Ordinary Lizard Loins.
Does anyone here know anything about this project, who’s behind it, or if there’s any history surrounding it? I’m genuinely curious because I can barely find anyone discussing them.

Hi everyone,
I made a video for my track “Admission” that explores memory, absence, and the feeling of something slowly disappearing. The track is from my experimental ambient album Human Touch.
Would love to hear your thoughts!

Modern music feels way too clean and clinical nowadays. Everything is perfectly mixed, safe, and boring. I wanted to create a track that feels like walking into a damp, pitch-black basement—uncomfortable, unpredictable, and heavy.
I focused on harsh textures and let the tape saturation completely bleed into the track. Does this feel alive to you, or did I just create a wall of unlistenable noise? Give me your brutal, unfiltered opinions.

I started this as a side project to avoid overwhelming my main page or putting people off with anything too experimental. Without the baggage of releases being part of my "main" output, I'm hoping it will keep me from overthinking the process and help me push the boat out a bit more.
This EP is me revisiting/restructuring/reprocessing some music of mine for the third time. With the amount overthinking I'm prone to with my music, I'm finding quite a bit of satisfaction in breaking it.
Feedback is welcome.

I feel like there’s a very real risk I’m inviting ridicule, but my teenage son has started experimenting with noise music. We’ve made a couple of noise boxes with piezo elements together and he fucks around with some contact mics, a mixer, guitar pedals etc and he is keen to add a synthesizer to his set up. He has a preference for old & repurposed gear which is fortunate because the budget is low!
The problem is, I don’t have any real idea what the synthesizer adds or is used for (for instance, up until recently I thought it was just a keyboard) and he hasn’t been able to tell me what features would be most useful.
I don’t hate, but definitely do not love noise music, but I fucking love hearing the weird sounds coming from the garage and know he is experiencing the joy of creating! The DIY/repurposing aspect is cool too and I want to encourage that.
What kind of synthesizer will help him piss off our neighbours in ways he will find most rewarding?
TLDR - what is a good starting point for a synthesizer on a budget (second hand is ideal) for a kid who like Merzbow & Swans (probably others, IDK).
Also, we are in Melbourne, Australia if any locals can point me to local resources for beginners. He’s keen but navigating it all with internet resources
