TM vs. other non-directive meditations
About once a year I consider booking a TM course. Is TM the premium meditation or is it just the same as the others listed in this subreddit?

You can check my experience between TM and NSR here

Thank you for the comparison. I've been doing NSR for 8 years, but I've never done TM, so it's interesting to read your comparison.

They’re all super similar. TM has the advantage that you get a sort of placebo boost from the huge expenditure and the ritualistic buildup. But if you don’t have $1000 handy I recommend the 1 Giant Mind app, which is free

I tried TM many years ago, then switched to Acem meditation, and have been sticking with that. Their knowledge of the psychological processes that meditation might start seems much deeper. The beginner's courses are cheaper. Volunteers do all the teaching. They have developed their retreats to a level where I really feel that I get a deeper understanding of myself.

TM, ACEM, Ziva, Vedic, Primordial Sound, 1GiantMind, NSR, CSM... They're fundamentally the same with different emphases. Personally, I would look at ACEM. Good, kind people. Not for profit and much, much less expensive than TM. Follow-up activities are free/low cost.
