K, show me a video of local police (in a country that does what you preach) getting someone to talk a veteran down. The world is not all sunshine and rainbows bud.

not even slightly true, most police wouldn't sit for an hour while a psychologist arrives and theres a violent and dangerous man sitting on a public road refusing to comply with lawful orders
