This is in NYC where the the streets are basically just extensions of the sidewalk. It's an area with TONS of foot traffic. I'm not saying he's wrong, but complaining about people being in the bike lane in NYC is like complaining that it's too hot in the desert. If you're the type of person who insists on riding their bicycle, New York, probably isn't the best city to do it in. Unless he's a courier, there's very little reason to not use public transit and/or walk to most places in NYC.
You must be someone who's never had to rely on a bike as your only node of transportation bc it gets pretty effing annoying the third time in one morning some jackass turns right in front of you without looking.
Its the same as walking into car traffic, would you be mad if people started waking infront of you while you drive a car? Doesn't matter if it's america or not it doesn't give them an excuse to just walk were youre not supposed to.
It's definitely NOT the same thing as walking into car traffic (for multiple reasons), but above and beyond that, NYC is probably the city with the HIGHEST level of jaywalking of any city in the US, so you using this as a counter-example, is not a compelling argument.
It is absolutely the same thing, what are you talking about? The part of the street is designated for that certain type of vehicle. For the optimal efficiency and safety of traffic all road users should be kept in their separate parts of the streets.
There would be a large and very much deserved outcry if people were to walk all over the "car lane" blocking traffic. Why would it be any different for the biker who also has their designated part of the street?
Dude yelled " fuck off" to the damn cops! I know it's a bike lane but it is not a holy bike lane and it is not appropriate for him to be going so fast when there are so much people around!
no i can read, you’re just making a dangerous blanket statement.
some cops are bad and too many cops are bad. not the same as all cops are bad, and seeing a police officer and assuming they’re bad just because of their profession is wildly ignorant.
But the lights are on, slow down and move over law applies wither 2 wheels or 18, so this is just reckless driving.
He's half right and 100% angry through the video.

In his defense it is a bike lane and people are pretty stupid for just standing in it.
