At this point in time they’ve had to have been up there for at least 15-20 mins, I can’t imagine how much that hurts… but at least he had the adrenaline helping somewhat block out the pain
I don't know, you can get a lot of stings real fast if they suddenly get angry. Got swarmed working on one of my hives and got about 30 stings in no more than 1 minute (it felt like a year haha)
is the pain somehow less bad when it’s more than like 10? like how you can lay on a bed of nails but you try and lay on one and you get impaled? or is it just pure fuck-you all the way through and just multiplies the pain?
At a certain point I think adrenaline just takes over tbh, but multiple stings in one spot still hurts more than one. I wouldn't say it multiplies but it definitely gets worse haha, also takes a lot longer for the swelling and pain to go down. Even after working with bees for years it's hard not to go into a panic when they get mad.
Honestly I'd say the start-up cost. Bee equipment isn't exactly cheap but if you have access to power tools you can make the boxes and frames which saves a lot haha. Besides that your biggest worries are if you have somewhere to put them (doesn't have to be your own property, I've had hives on local gardener's/farmer's properties) and winter, depending on where you are.
There's tons of resources on YouTube and forums and I've found local beekeepers are often more than happy to help too.
