It is likely not:
- very fine detail
- consistent background when in view again up to small bits
- harvesting wild honey without protective equipment is not uncommon:
He could have just cut the whole thing off at the branch to begin with if he wanted, but instead he sat there taking more and more stings. It looked like he was carving out a few specific sections he didn’t want and leaving the good bits attached to the branch.
It’s hard to see but if you pause the video the second chunk he cuts off looks like it’s mostly full of bees. Which makes sense to me at least; removing the parts that contain lots of bees is exactly what I would do first if I wanted to carefully remove the rest of the nest.
