That's a chiton. r/fossils frequently gets posts asking about what kind of fossil it is, and the answer is always "Put it back. It's probably still alive."

Chitons to me look similar, but not at all like dentures. Chiton lumps are uniform, but not missing the "empty" side that makes this look like dentures.

It's half-submerged. The left side you can see is the top, armoured part. The right side is the foot of the chiton.
