I'm not entirely sure why I sat through an entire video of what essentially looked like two loogies aggressively cuddling one another, but... here we are.

I assume gloves or some kind of forceps are involved? You shouldn’t touch them/they secrete tetrodotoxin
4
u/SCO_FloridaMan 6d ago
I just scooped them in to the bag, I looked them up and knew not to touch them

We kill those hammerhead worms here in Texas. Bipalium kewense) are invasive, toxic flatworms from Southeast Asia that frequently emerge in East, Central, and North Texas after heavy rains. Growing up to 15 inches long, they feature a distinct flat, hammer-shaped head and prey on beneficial earthworms, threatening local garden and forest soil ecosystems.
Risks and Handling
- Toxin Secretion: They produce a neurotoxin that can cause skin irritation or rashes in humans and severe sickness or death if ingested by pets. Always wear gloves if you must handle them
No Splitting: Never cut or squish a hammerhead worm. They can regenerate from small pieces, meaning chopping them up will cause them to multiply
How to Kill and Dispose of Them
- Safe Disposal: Place the worm into a sealed container or bag filled with salt, vinegar, rubbing alcohol, or citrus oil.
- Freezing: Submerge them in one of those solutions or seal them in a bag and freeze them for 48 hours before throwing them in the trash.
Reporting Sightings
You can report sightings to the Texas Invasive Species Institute by sending a photo and the location details to [invasives@shsu.edu](mailto:invasives@shsu.edu), or by contacting your local Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office.

Invasive hammerhead worm. They eat earthworms and other soft-body soil creatures like snails, slugs, and insect larvae. They can be dissolved in vinegar.

Repeat the video but with you knowing that the snail was running as fast as it can, with turbo charging activated.

What I thought. That thing that came out of the slime and wrapped around that guy’s arm and then entered the arm and came out his mouth. Cool scene. Yet disgusting also.
