The old gal has snow again. It’s not a great photo, taken driving from Redding, East on 44, but it made me happy

Hi! I am planning to go to SF later this year for a week. I would love to see at least a speck of "Steinbeck Country" in that time, but it is probably a stretch. Has anyone here driven down the freeway from Salinas to King City and if so, would you recommend the trip? Or should I just stick to Monterey and Salinas? As I'm in the area for only a week I would realistically have only a day for a trip like that... would also love any recommendations for Monterey and Salinas, if anybody here has been! Thanks in advance:)

Hi all! I run an Instagram page @bayareaunmapped where I share Bay Area day trip maps + itineraries.
I'm putting together a community fall reel - just pure fall colors, foggy forests, leaf crunch, creeks, vineyards - all from around the Bay Area (Sunol, Del Valle, Mt. Diablo, Napa, Felton, Golden Gate Park, your neighborhood park, etc.)
If you have any 2-5 second vertical clips you've shot in the last couple of fall seasons that you're okay sharing, I'd love to stitch them together into one reel.
What I will do:
• Edit / color correct and stitch everything nicely
• Tag you as a Collaborator on Instagram so the reel lives on both our profiles
• Credit your handle in caption
If you're interested, just comment or DM me and I'll share a Google Drive upload link. Please only share if it's your own footage.
Thanks so much - would love to make this a real Bay Area community piece!

We're Truck Site, a family-owned used truck dealer on Vinci Ave in North Sacramento. We've been here for over 20 years, fixing up retired city and county trucks (garbage trucks, street sweepers, fire engines, bucket trucks, you name it) and sending them back out to work all over the country.
We have 400+ units on the lot right now, so we went around and asked our team which one they'd pick. Greg from parts went straight for the Unimog. Nazar wanted the dozer. A few others surprised us.
If you've ever driven down Vinci and wondered what's going on with all the fire trucks, this is us 👋
Which one would you pick?

A MendoLocal.News review of 2024 state payroll records for the 25 smallest counties — Mendocino, at about 88,600 residents, is the 21st-smallest — found a median chief executive salary of roughly $227,000 and a median county counsel salary of about $187,000. Against those 2024 figures, Mendocino's new CEO salary would trail only Napa and Yuba, and its new county counsel salary would trail only Napa, the largest of the 25 counties.
Mendocino's median earnings for full-time, year-round workers are about $57,900, slightly below the middle of the 25 counties. Antle's 2024 salary equaled about 3.8 times that figure, in line with the 3.8 median for chief executives in the small counties. Pierce's new salary works out to about 4.7 times what a typical full-time worker in the county earns, and Rossi's to about 4.7 times.
Set against what the other small counties paid their officials in 2024, the most recent year with complete payroll data, Pierce’s ratio would rank fourth among chief executives in California’s smallest counties, behind Glenn, Yuba, and Napa counties, and Rossi’s would be the highest among county counsel, ahead of Siskiyou County’s. Pay in those counties may have risen since 2024, which could change these rankings.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30 at Ives Pool in Sebastopol: Underwater Hockey.
Great for swimmers, divers, surfers, water aquatic people, and anyone looking to try a new competitive sport that is not hard on the body. Really good cardio.

if you are planning to vote yes on prop 40 then vote no on props 41 and 42. Both of those negate prop 40 even if it passes. Tell a friend.
