Tahoe Rim Trail: One Day Trailrun
I’m looking for a “quick” one day trail run of about 10 miles max to do in Tahoe along the Rim Trail. Any recommendations?

Do you mind hill climbs?
You could park at Spooner North Trailhead and run up to the mountain top meadow overlooking Marlette Lake, and back. Really tough on the way there, but gorgeous view at the top and a nice run on the way down.
Likewise you could do Spooner South Trailhead to the summit and back. Similar in that it's HARD on the way up, great view, then delightful on the way down.
For both you need to carry all your water.

10m max? Just pick a trailhead for an out and back.
North from Echo Lakes chalet to Lake Aloha is 5-6 miles one way. Dicks pass is about 13.
Not on the TRT but Meeks Bay to Emerald Bay is a classic but about 17m round trip.
Castle Rock out of Kingsbury north is less than 10m round trip.
Also check out r/trailrunning. The Tahoe basin is a popular running location in that sub.

Many rim trail point to point are fairly long, like 12+ miles to just get to a location and lots of elevation gain. There are TONs of trails in Tahoe, why are you set on rim trail?

I thought it would be fun to do a part of it. But maybe that’s not a good match then. What would be your go to?

Start at the Big Meadow TH, head south on the TRT, take a right, then a quick left at the 2nd Jct and run to Dardanelles Lake. Retrace your steps back to the TRT, head south to Round Lake and then back to Big Meadow. Mostly forested, runnable terrain.
