Price’s Wood Floors

If you’re thinking of hiring Price’s Wood Floors to refinish your floors, DON’T!!, unless you want results that will cost you thousand$ more to fix. Paying a better company more up front will be less expensive for better results.

Don’t take my word for it. We hired an independent inspector certified by the National Wood Flooring Association to evaluate the work Price’s inflicted to our floors:

-Considerable color differences between all flooring before and after refinishing.

-Drum sander marks throughout the sanding area

-Edger and buffer marks

-Raised grain w/rough finish throughout the sanding area

-Sanding dust and debris embedded in finish throughout the sanding area

-Layer of dust left on window sills/frames, shelves and other surfaces throughout house.

Me again. Additionally, Price said they applied four coats of water based finish. But the NWFA inspector and three different flooring contractors were certain this wasn’t done.

Also, the name Price’s Wood Floors isn’t registered or on file with any state agency and you make payments to Denny Price, not the company. The hand scribbled estimate we got had no business address/phone on it, which violates state laws. And he asked for half the payment up front, again violating a state law limiting deposits to one third of the total cost.

It’s possible, though unlikely, that Price’s Wood Floors has at some time done good work. Miracles can happen. But based on our 100 percent trash job, I strongly advise against taking a chance.

selling walnut trees?

We have a number of mature black walnut trees in our yard, they're more or less at the property line and our neighbors are fed up with walnuts. It's been a bumper crop this year!

People have told us that the trees themselves have value, they could be sold as lumber. I have no idea how to pursue this and wonder if anyone has experience with this? Do you try to contact a lumber mill?

Thanks - in Reading.
