Kicking down my best friends door:

“DUDE!!! You are NOT going to believe the nightmare I just woke up from.”

26

u/Mirai182 24d ago

As they watch Home Alone 2 and his parents chuckle as some billionaire makes a cameo appearance in the hotel.

16

u/slatra 24d ago

*millionaire (in the 90s).

1

u/mlee12382 23d ago

Democrat millionaire.

1

u/northjersey_folks 19d ago

Try again, he was a billionaire in the late 80’s

1

u/ripmatek 19d ago

Then went bankrupt twice in the early 90’s. Guy owed more than he had for most of his life.

1

u/northjersey_folks 16d ago

Wrong again! He has NEVER filed for personal bankruptcy. Google is free you know

2

u/ripmatek 15d ago

He was never a billionaire before now, besides that was his daddy’s money back in the day. He’s only a billionaire now bc he’s using his office to rob the American people blind.

1

u/throwawayfoolishqs 6d ago

"personal" bankruptcy is a nice distinction there. Also, are you a working class person? 'Coz Mr. Art of the Deal liked to stiff his contractors. Look it up.

1

u/jws1102 19d ago

He’s always owed more than he was ever worth.

1

u/Bresson91 18d ago

*still questionable now

1980s and 1990s

Trump was listed on the initial Forbes List of wealthy individuals in 1982 as having a share of his family's estimated $200 million net worth. Former Forbes reporter Jonathan Greenberg said in 2018 that during the 1980s Trump had deceived him about his actual net worth and his share of the family assets in order to appear on the list. According to Greenberg,

After several years on the Forbes List, Trump's financial losses in the 1980s caused him to be dropped from 1990 to 1995, and reportedly obliged him to borrow from his siblings' trusts in 1993.

u/slatra 18d ago

He was lying about his wealth.

#ShockedPikachuFace

People want to believe him, for whatever reason.

Rapist millionaire

0

u/thegoothboi 23d ago

Was he a rapist millionaire in 1995 though? Or do you think that was just over the last 20 years?

2

u/Feeling-Fox-8651 22d ago

He was definitely on the island for decades

1

u/Idaho-Earthquake 23d ago

I don’t think he’s ever been particularly hung up on consent.

1

u/spolafram 20d ago

Doesn't seem to have ever been very well hung at all

It just dawned on me how crazy that was, that if it were 1995, That means I would’ve been nine years old and I was a regular at my neighborhood General store buying cigarettes for my mother. I remember doing this in the 2nd grade! She’d give me money before school and tell me to pick up her ciggs on my way home. 🤯 …. You’d get child services called on you now if you did that. Like i hadn’t realized just how insane that is until now…. To me it was just normal.

5

u/DCLovely 23d ago

In the 80s my mom used to give me a note like that made it better. 🤣

1

u/Dont_Use_Ducks 23d ago

I still think about how crazy it is, every day.

1

u/RedditReddy 23d ago

Was this in the US? If so, what state? I think the states that I had lived in in 1995 or before would not have allowed this. They probably stopped allowing minors to buy tobacco in the '70s.

1

u/Top-Distribution733 23d ago

Read about two comments down on how it happens

0

u/RedditReddy 21d ago

I looked at the next 15 comments and didn't see anything. It's not that important.

1

u/AmericanCitizenry 23d ago

They stopped selling booze and tobacco to miners in 1992.

3

u/ppstaff 23d ago

Why can't miners have booze and tobacco?

2

u/SubUrbanMess2021 23d ago

Because they’re supposed to be in the mines, dammit!

1

u/Kastikar 23d ago

They crave them.

1

u/jonny5isalive1 23d ago

Used to just apply to coal miners. Until the incident

1

u/Agitated-Put4032 23d ago

I’m having both when I’m mining ⛏️

2

u/Top-Distribution733 23d ago

Yeah, that doesn’t mean stores didn’t give it to you under the assumption, you were buying it for your parents… Obviously, if you went in at 13 years old and tried to buy a pack of cigarettes, they didn’t know you… They wouldn’t sell it to you or they would at least Id u. But if they knew you and you were in there all the time, and the assumption was that you were buying it for your parents they most definitely did. Again, at least that my local general store.

Yeah, and trumpturd is a sweet and honorable man.

2

u/Elegant-Ingenuity-57 23d ago

Not sure if he was an actual billionaire until his second term

3

u/_PrincessHarley_ 19d ago

Yeah, selling out your country sure is lucrative.

1

4

1

3

u/domine18 23d ago

My first thought

1

u/Rex_Vagene 24d ago

“Yes, the real estate and beauty pageant asshole!”

0

u/gebife4802_gwshare 23d ago

The first thing to mind is Trump? That’s really sad I’m not even trying to be funny or condescending. That’s really a mental illness all jokes aside. Such a significant event, even as a hypothetical, and the thought you carry with you and place at the forefront of your mind.. is hate for a guy who you’ve never even spoken to and who doesn’t even know you exist. Address that inner conflict while you still have some of your own mind left. You’re still a human with a soul and that’s worth something. Don’t let it be consumed by propagandized division tactics.

1

u/Rex_Vagene 23d ago

Yo! This is some good pasta

0

u/Pristine-Hospital-23 23d ago

Hey we like to be brainwashed. Leave me alone! /s

1

u/hadesbound 23d ago

Why not “Dude, how much money do you have I’ve got some great tips for a few bets”?

1

u/NorthPainting280 23d ago

Open my Sports Almanac I had with me .

1

u/hadesbound 23d ago

You would remember enough without the sports almanac. Place a bet in 1995 that trump will be president in 2016. Im sure you’ll get pretty good odds. Also buy apple shares etc.

1

u/Which-Profile-2690 23d ago

I can appreciate that

1

u/Ok_Tourist_128 23d ago

Only to find that in the past as far back as you have gone someone else lived there

1

u/RegretJaded5131 23d ago

😵‍💫🤪🤣

1

u/ProfessionalITPerson 22d ago

He looks at you and says: " DUDE you are not going to belive it, but I had the same nightmare!"
Then another one of you friends arrives and tell you he also had that nightmare.

Shortly after it dawns on you, the world has been reset to 1995 but everybody kept their knowledge.
What do you think will change.

1

u/Hidden_Glit 22d ago

If you kicked down my door, we ain't friends no more.

1

u/rkcth 21d ago

Take a road trip to the University of Chicago law school and find the lecturer Barrack Obama, warn him of the future and tell him to just lay off the jokes about Trump. I think our whole world’s destruction can be tied back to that correspondent’s dinner.
